Arrested Development: Michael Cera Not Interested in a Movie Reunion
Though some of his former Arrested Development co-stars have said they’re ready to for a Bluth family reunion, Michael Cera says he isn’t interested.
Back in February, Arrested alums Jeffrey Tambor and Jason Bateman confirmed in interviews that there were plans to do movie based on the cult-classic sitcom. Bateman said that, although series creator Mitchell Hurwitz “does not yet have a script, he has a good, solid understanding of what he’d like to do for the movie.” Arrested’s “GOB,” Will Arnett, also confirmed that there were plans for a feature.
Unfortunately, the series’ most famous castmember doesn’t know anything about the movie plans and isn’t really interested in reprising his role anyway.
While promoting his new romantic comedy, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Cera was asked about the Arrested Development movie. He told the National Post that he still hasn’t been approached about the project and said, “I don’t think I would want to see a movie of the series if I was a fan, anyway.” Cera continued, “And I don’t really see a need for it if you can get the three seasons on DVD.”
Of course, a movie could be made without Cera but the reunion certainly wouldn’t feel complete without the whole dysfunctional family getting back together. If the movie plans actually materialize, could Cera be swayed to rejoin his TV kin? Stay tuned!

My mouth dropped when I read this. I guess because he’s done a few movies (that are really still the same character as George Michael) that he doesnt want to do the funniest thing he’s done yet… I’m surprised. AD was well written and witty. Nothing has compared in film or tv. Being about as nutty of a fan as possible of AD. I would settle for one more 30min episode, so as far as movie goes, I just want to see the bluth’s again.
