Creature Comforts: CBS Puts Stops on Stop-Motion Series
During the summer months, networks understand that viewership is typically lower than usual. As such, it’s pretty rare for a summer series to be pulled prematurely. For this, and obvious reasons, Creature Comforts is a rare breed.
A version of Creature Comforts was first seen as a 1989 animated short film made in Britain. It featured a group of anmals talking about their life in the zoo. It became a TV series in 2003 in the U.K. A U.S. version debuted on June 4th on CBS and featured animal characters being voiced by everyday people. All of these versions were produced by Aardman Animations who are best known for the Wallace and Gromit films.
The claymation Creature Comforts series debuted to 6.3 million and slipped to 4.5 million the second week. Only 4.3 million watched the third episode and, as a result, CBS has pulled Creature Comforts. Repeats of The New Adventures of Old Christine will fill the Monday at 8pm timeslot for the immediate future.
It’s unknown if the four remaining unaired episodes will see the light of day. It’s possible that they may be made available on the CBS site where two episodes currently reside.

What?………. I though this was the best show in the time slot for a long time. I told others about it and they looked for it for a couple of weeks. Beats the hell out of the shallow crap your showing tonight!!!!
August 15th, 2007 at 8:40 am
This is the best show to come out in a long time. I do watch CBS, but NEVER the Christine sitcom … YUCK! You had a fresh chance to start something different, and you blew it. I had just researched this show and told family and friends the details about the real people behind the voices, and those who caught it just LOVED IT.
PUHLEEZ give the public a chance to catch on to this great show!
August 14th, 2007 at 12:46 pm
PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK CREATURE COMFORTS FUNNIEST SHOW THAT HAS BEEN ON IN YEARS!!!!!!!!!
August 14th, 2007 at 12:30 pm
I’m very disappointed that you have chosen to stop running this show. By the time I discovered Creature Comforts, I got to enjoy just one episode before it was cancelled. PLEASE consider bringing it back!!! It’s much better than yet another tired sitcom with the same old jokes (Christine)!
August 13th, 2007 at 1:53 pm
Please put creature comforts back on! I have to agree witl all the others. It was a great show. Who wants to watch that stupid Christine show anyway! The animals talking was really funny and really great!
August 7th, 2007 at 8:02 am
Poo on you! We love that show!
July 31st, 2007 at 7:09 pm
Can’t believe you pulled Creature Comforts. No wonder CBS ratings are slipping away. You get a great,creative,laugh-out-loud show like this, that’s clean, and you won’t even give it a chance. Now we won’t be watching CBS at all anymore. Please bring it back!!
July 31st, 2007 at 11:30 am
Well, it’s August now and my whole family still checks vainly each Monday night to see if Creature Comforts has returned. I did email CBS; but to what purpose? We laughed so hard at that show we missed the next joke and replayed the episodes on the web over and over. I still can’t say ‘polar bears’ with a straight face. Now you can’t even see the shows via the CBS website. It’s as if they’ve erased the whole venture. Depressing.
July 28th, 2007 at 4:26 pm
I can’t believe this show got pulled. We taped the three episodes that aired, and even watching them the second and third time through I laugh till I cry. And I also told ALL my friends and family to watch this show. CBS, please bring it back, or at least let us instant Creature Comfort fananatics see the remaining episodes!
July 26th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
Bring this back! This was hilarious. I called two of my siblings when I saw this show and got them hooked too! Then, it was gone! But that incredibly stupid Two and-a-half Men” show stays? That’s the most mindless show for half-wits out there. But this clever mix of media doesn’t work for stupid, fat Americans who need their comedy explained to them S_L_O_W_L_Y. Please bring this back! Dump Sheen!
July 20th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
I’ve seen those episodes before, but where? Oh Yeah! They are the EXACT episodes of the British version. But with American dubbing.
Gee, I wonder if America will steal anymore U.K. TV shows. Gosh, I guess we’re just so unimaginative, we can’t come up with our own version of Creature Comforts.
The only difference with the imported version to the U.S., was the dubbing over of what was said in the British version. The American dubbing wasn’t very good, anyway.
For those of you who didn’t get to see the British version when it was on BBC America (only with Satellite or Digital Cable), would have loved the American version, if they would have kept showing it, and that’s just fine. But for me who’s already seen the BBC version, I think I’ll just stick to that one. It was much funnier.
July 19th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
I was afraid Creature Comforts was too smart and funny to last. I don’t know who did the marketing, but everyone at work had the impression, without watching it, that it was a Kid’s Show. I was just getting people to tune in when CBS pulled the rug from under me. I guess I’ll just go back to watching things on Netflix instead of the summer garbage offered.
July 19th, 2007 at 9:02 am
I had to do a google search to find info on this fantastic show. What happened to it? I started telling my friends and family to tune in and then it was no more. I appreciated this show because it was so different. Something enjoyable and funny in the mix of all the other boring garbage that’s on day in and day out.
July 16th, 2007 at 1:30 pm
I have spent the last couple weeks asking family and friends if they have seen a new show called ‘Creature Comforts’. I have been telling everyone what a good show this is. Nobody else seems to have heard of it so they asked me when it was on. I got online to look it up to see when the next episode was and found out it was cancelled.
Are you kidding me? Not enough people had a chance to hear about it or to even watch a single episode.
I sure hope another network picks up this really cute show. I think CBS really dropped the ball on this one.
July 12th, 2007 at 2:35 pm
I cannot believe that CBS has pulled this refreshingly innovative, intelligent, and witty show.
I was so happy to finally see something of quality on television after we have been bombarded with stupid and crass reality shows with no substance at all for the last few years.
SHAME on you CBS for not giving this creative little show (that I added to my series record on the FIRST VIEWING) a chance. I have told countless friends about how delightful it is and I’m more than livid to discover that it will no longer be part of my Monday nights.
I wrote something similar to this on the CBS comment form that Kit Boss supplied. I hope everyone else does too!
July 12th, 2007 at 11:08 am
We soooo looked forward to Creature comforts AND YOU PULLED IT!!!! It showed true talent and creation w/ claymation. Hopefully All the PBS channels will pick it up…CBS offers junk as of late.
July 12th, 2007 at 5:08 am
CBS is stupid. Cancel Creature Comforts for another airhead reality show by chance?
July 12th, 2007 at 12:04 am
If anyone at CBS reads they will see that many are displeased with the pulling of Creature Comforts. I suppose you know what is good for us and what we really like on our TV. Not.Get with the program. Have you heard of “word of mouth”? This show, if given time, would have sold itself. Can you say panic? yeeech!
July 11th, 2007 at 2:17 pm
This is the first show I have watched on CBS in years. Actually I can’t remember the last one I was excited to see. I am very disappointed this clever laugh out loud show is cancelled just to be replaced by reruns of another dull sitcom. CBS didn’t even give this show a chance with only 3 episodes shown in the middle of the summer. Please bring it back!!
July 11th, 2007 at 10:50 am
Bring back horse and mule!!!! They are so awesome.
July 9th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
Just back from a week trip and told many people to watch this delightfully fresh show which, at times, had me almost falling to the floor laughing. Having known some staffers at CBS in LA years ago (am sure long gone)I would have called and say give this show a break. As the Brits would say,”It is f__king brilliant.” A sad loss in a world that is filled with dreadful news daily. This show is sorely needed. Reconsider and hire me as a writer too. My type of humor.

July 9th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
What a disaster and an ENORMOUS disappointment! Creature Comforts was a tremendous breath of fresh air amidst predictable programming — unique, clever, and really really funny. I stumbled on this great animated show and spread the word to everyone I know, even watched the episode I had missed on the CBS website. Of course we don’t watch TV in summer if all you have to offer are stale reruns of weak sitcoms. Give us something good like CREATURE COMFORTS to watch, and watch we will!
July 9th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
FFFFF-YOU for taking creature comforts for some old FFFF-in’ show your tryinng to get back on fall season? Start fireieg your unamanagive lakies ann start aring goooood shows instead of those failures try bringing neilson rateings into my house and you will’nt have a network OLD CRISTINE SUCKS STOP SLEEPING WITH THE @!#$%&(*())))?><
July 9th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
As a CBS stockholder, I am insulted and angry at the poor judgment shown by the powers-that-be in that sorry excuse for an entertainment concern. Rest assured that the corporation will hear from me. The no-brain ********
July 9th, 2007 at 4:14 pm
Monday was the worst day of my week….that is untill CREATURE COMFORTS aired. I practically put monday #1 on my list of top 7 days. Now I hear u cancelled it. Bad move, now monday is back to last. At least air the final 4 episodes i’m begging you!!!!!!!!!
July 9th, 2007 at 6:59 am
Creature Comforts is GREAT! BRING IT BACK!! It was hilarious and brilliantly done. No point watching CBS now. Will return to your network when you bring this incredible show back. Watched every episode, taped them, then got together with friends who hadn’t seen it and played the tape. EVERYONE just died laughing! BRING IT BACK! VERY DUMB MOVE TO TAKE THIS OFF THE AIR.
July 8th, 2007 at 7:01 pm
What on earth is CBS thinking????? My whole family LOVES Creature Comforts! Give me a break!! No advertising for the show beforehand and now only give it 3 weeks??? CBS is off my list too. BRING IT BACK…NOW!
July 7th, 2007 at 3:05 pm
First it was “JERICO”…now it’s “Creature Comforts”. CC was one of the few shows left on television that was worth watching. I can’t believe CBS has done this to us. BRING IT BACK PLEASE! Give intelligent viewers something descent and funny to watch on Monday nights.
July 7th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
My family and I were horrified to see crusty “Christine” instead of “Creature Comforts”. Doom on you, CBS, for letting go of such a brilliant piece of work. At least have the decency to offer the full series on DVD or on-line
July 7th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
Dump Old Christine and bring back Creature Comforts. Mondays are a complete waste now.
July 6th, 2007 at 6:05 am
Brilliant! Innovative! Fresh!I Cheered when I heard that CBS was going to air my favorite British TV program, “Creature Comforts”. I thought the first 3 episodes were even funnier than the British episodes! Given the right time slot and advertising this brilliant show could be as popular as the Simpsons. I am extremely dissapointed at this boneheaded move by CBS. Maybe Fox should pick it up! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!
July 6th, 2007 at 5:52 am
What a shame. An original (at least to the US), refreshing show. After the third episode I told my family and friends about it, and all tuned in the following Monday only to see another show. In my circle alone, viewership would have gone from two people to around 20 (a ten fold increase). I don’t know how CBS can only give a show three weeks. What a shame–give it some time. Didn’t NBC’s “The Office” perform similarly until word spread and it is now a hit. Bring it back CBS, it is one of the few shows on your network that interests me.
July 6th, 2007 at 12:51 am
I had this show programmed on my PVR and was surprised to see that there were no more new ones. I love this show and was so happy to see that CBS was getting their own awesome American version of the BBC one. Then after only a few episodes it was cancelled. I am so sad to see it go. TV networks never seem to give shows a chance anymore… sigh. Being that this is stop-motion animation, those 4 unaired episodes would have taken Aardman a LONG time to finish. CBS should at least have the courtesy to air those episodes so that those countless hours will not seem like a waste of time. Oh and being from Canada I cannot access those unaired episodes on the CBS website so I sadly cannot see the other 2 episodes. Quite annoyed with CBS!
July 5th, 2007 at 7:02 pm
I guess I’m an idiot. I always thought several million of anything was a lot, but evidently not. I must be stupid because I enjoy watching animated characters talk about true life, as opposed to live action characters talk crap about absurd situations. I don’t mean to be too hard on the Old Christine, I’m sure you have lots of stupid shows that I will never watch. Bring back Creature Comforts. Now.
July 5th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
Just in case the comments aren’t closed and you want to add another voice to the millions of disappointed fans…I have followed Creature Comforts from its humble beginnings in Britain years ago and was overjoyed to see it reaching the states. Now, needless to say, I am disgusted with CBS for being so spineless. It’s the summer for goodness sake. Give it a chance!
July 5th, 2007 at 5:33 pm
I just realized something. I can now place television executives lower than politicians and lawyers on the evolutionary scale.
July 4th, 2007 at 9:30 pm
FYI -this show was/is(?) originally (as with so many of our great “original” comedies, e.g., The Office) produced for British audiences watching BBC. There are at least two full seasons of the BBC version of Creature Comforts available here in the US on DVD - just as (or more) funny.
Why the heck would a network take a chance on something to fill in the summer season, then yank it after three, under-advertised episodes? Why have bothered running it in the first place? CBS, Aardman does not need you, YOU (desperately) need Aardman.
July 4th, 2007 at 6:53 pm
I also was SO disappointed to find out it was canceled. I had only seen it once the week before, and also had got family together to sit down and watch it…only to find it was gone. I was so upset. I am so happy because I see Gareth Owen, the UK producer wrote a comment saying more will be made hopefully! I can’t wait. I hope BBC starts playing it since CBS refuses to. Maybe we should all write the BBC (British Broadcasting Channel) and ask them to put the show on.
July 3rd, 2007 at 6:51 pm
What a shame CBS pulled this show. For the first time an intelligent cartoon made for adults was on primetime. So many people I have talked to are upset - which is putting it in language that is ok to be shown. Please at least play the remaining episodes. Would be nice if television was actually made for the people with brains in their heads and not for corporate money.
When will someone have the guts to stand up and be different!
July 3rd, 2007 at 4:26 pm
It figures…. I see a show, tell friends to watch and it gets pulled before they get a chance to see it more than once. Why not give something a chance? Reruns of sad shows I don’t watch anyway makes me thankful for Netflix on line viewing. I deal with ADHD enough at work…. it seems that network execs should have more of an attention span than this!
July 3rd, 2007 at 2:43 pm
I filled out CBS’s feedback form on this one. I have always been a big fan of Aardman Animations, and it was great that my friends could finally see this crazy show I kept talking about. Now the most original show American TV has seen in decades is gone, replaced by the same old sitcom garbage — and RERUNS at that! Boo hiss CBS.
July 3rd, 2007 at 1:21 pm
Not really surprised that CBS pulled the plug on this unique, special show. Aardman isn’t the draw yet in the States that it is in Britain. CBS used to be known as the “Tiffany Network” stressing quality THEN ratings. It’s a sad day when a truly worthy show is pulled before it can find its audience. Sad, but no longer unexpected.
July 3rd, 2007 at 10:25 am
Great. As the UK producer of Creature Comforts I’m so glad to see the comments coming in - that it was appreciated over there and that we didn’t waste a year of our lives making the show! Keep them coming then we can make some more! Who the hell is Christine anyway?
July 2nd, 2007 at 8:46 pm
If you get enough executives in one room you get - an amazingly brilliant witty wonderful family and friends get-together fun time feel good show dropped for recycled stale tasteless to begin with junk. The world could be watching boys, but all they know is that you’ve dropped the ball once again. Congratulaions CBS, I’m now watching PBS Antiques Roadshow. Kiss your sponsors good-bye for me, I can’t be bothered to stick around.
July 2nd, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Good grief!! Creature Comforts is the only show I have watched on CBS in about … ever! and they pull it? What are you thinking? Bring back Creature Comforts!!!!
July 2nd, 2007 at 6:00 pm
Typical. As most people covered already, it was a show that the entire family could watch and we made it a point to be there. We do not have many shows that we schedule around but Creature Comforts was definately one of them. Tempted to stop watching television all together. I get sick of really enjoying a show just to have it pulled out from under us. :o*(
July 2nd, 2007 at 5:38 pm
So yeah I too told friends and family to watch the show and dvred it I got home and some other show was on I thought I messed up until everyone told me it was canceled. The first episode I just happened to be surfing and found it told everyone about it. Now they pull the videos I liked watching those too. Dang you CBS.
July 2nd, 2007 at 4:18 pm
i am VERY upset that this isn’t on anymore. i watched it 2 mondays ago and was SOO Excited to watch it again and then i saw that it wasn’t on. how dissapointed! IT WAS SOOOOO FUNNY! i loved it. my family loved it. and everyone i talked to thought it was extremely funny! BRING IT BACK!!!!! GIVE IT A CHANCE! PUT THE WORD OUT THERE AND I BET THERE WOULD BE TONS AND TONS OF PEOPLE CRACKING UP WAITING FOR IT TO COME ON EVERY MONDAY!
July 2nd, 2007 at 4:14 pm
That is so disappointing. I have to agree with most of the disgruntled peoples comments. I bragged about this show to everyone after the first episode. I don’t recall my husband and I laughing at such a neat show in a long time. Good Luck CBS. You might want to think that some people take vacations and cannot watch every week…but this show was the first thing I was looking forward to tonight.
July 2nd, 2007 at 4:02 pm
I am so disappointed to see that Creature Comfort is not on!!! I was looking foward to Mondays to watch this show. Finally something good was on TV to watch, which was actually super funny! Now you bums have taken it off and I’m totally upset to see it gone! I hope you can bring the laughter back with Creature Comforts airing Monday nights!!!!
July 2nd, 2007 at 12:39 pm
Sick, sick, sick! What the hell is wrong with you folks at CBS? Finally there’s a show that makes me laugh and what do you do…you pull it. I thought for quite a while that exec’s at the broadcasting companies were brain dead with the junk they have aired the last few years, and now with this move, they have proved me right. Keep the crap and dump the fun!
So much for family entertainment!
Sick
July 2nd, 2007 at 11:21 am
I dreampt that Horse and Mule had their own spinoff show. Where they went to a rave full of sheep and Mule kept knocking peoples’ drinks off tables saying “Don’t worry, got you covered!” and “I can get that stain out!”
July 2nd, 2007 at 8:28 am
Bring Back Creature Comforts!
I’m sorry - but Old Christine has NO new Adventures! Same old crap, tired stories with different actors. We don’t need another sit-com!!
Bring it Back!!!
Bring Back Creature Comforts!! It was fun, fresh and measurably more entertaining that the Tired Adventures of Nothing New Christine!
Bring Back Creature Comforts!
July 2nd, 2007 at 8:26 am
Well…CBS YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN!!! You end up pulling a show before word gets out about it. I’ve not laughed at a show that much in years…then I found out you’ve pulled the show! WHY??? Just because 50 million viewers didn’t jump on it right off the bat! GIVE US A CHANCE before you rip good shows off the air. For those of us that GOT to see it, it was the topic of conversation the next day and the laughter started all over again. NOW…we’re just laughing at you for not having the balls to take a chance at making America laugh!!! Actually, we won’t be watching ANY Monday evening shows on CBS anymore…but thanks for letting us know that there still is some REAL creativity out there and not stupid, stale shows like OLD CHRISTINE reruns!!!!!!!! Guess CBS stands for CAN’T BE SMART!!!
July 2nd, 2007 at 7:24 am
Creature Comforts was the funniest show on television in many years. I called all my friends and relatives to tell them to watch, and no one knew it was on until I clued them in. Perhaps if it had been advertised better we would not be mourning it now. Please bring back the remaining episodes. CBS needs a cult show to bring in fans, not a tired old chestnut like Christine.
July 2nd, 2007 at 6:58 am
This is a new concept in American television and it would take more than 3 episodes for people to catch on. Give it a chance!!!
It’s really funny. I’ve told several people I know to watch it, and when they did it wasn’t on. Put it back on TV. IT’s the only show you had on that is actually funny.
July 2nd, 2007 at 5:43 am
I have never posted anywhere before, but… what are you thinking, CBS? I never saw this show advertised, came across it by accident while flipping channels, and was instantly hooked. Told all my friends about it, and now they want to watch and it’s gone! Please reconsider! Fresh, funny, appropriate for the whole family. Everyone I know who watched this LOVED it. I have taped and rewatched all the episodes. You really need to give this one more time.
July 1st, 2007 at 5:55 pm
I can’t believe Creature Comforts was pulled for reruns of a very stupid sitom. Creature Comforts made me laugh so hard and it was a pleasure to see it. I put it on tivo so I could watch it again. Clever, smart, very funny and I’ve gotten others to join in watching it. CBS gets dumber and dumber as time goes by. How many CSI’s are there in the world???? Give us a break! Who makes these dumb decisions?? Perhaps WE should cancel CBS so that Creature Comforts could move to a more classy network, PBS or cable! Perhaps CBS decision-makers should be forced to watch reruns of Old Christine over and over again…
July 1st, 2007 at 4:01 pm
I am very dissapointed that you have taken off Creature Comforts. It was very creative and different, please bring it back !!!!
July 1st, 2007 at 3:17 pm
CREATURE COMFORTS was a great show!!!
It had wit, humor, substance, and great characters.
There is alot of garbage on TV, and it remains on the air, yet a quality, inventive, unique show like CREATURE COMFORTS is pulled after only THREE weeks?
The least that CBS can do is to show the rest of the episodes on TV, for the millions of us who DID watch every week.
And then, I would love to have Season 3 on DVD to join my CREATURE COMFORTS Season 1 and 2 DVD’s.
CREATURE COMFORTS wasnt a smash hit after three tries….big deal…it was still a great television show, and it was much better than the other show that took it’s place…..a show that I wont be watching.
July 1st, 2007 at 6:26 am
This is just completely retarded. I am sick to death of networks pullings shows just because they don’t pull 8 billion viewers. Creature Comforts was the only show I watched on this network, now I won’t have to bother with your channel at all then. Thanks for helping me out with that.
June 30th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
I can’t believe they pulled it. They didn’t even give the show a fair chance. I loved the show. It is so funny, creative, and entertaining. I’m so tired of watching the same old stuff on TV. Is there anything we can do help out? I really want to see the rest of the series. PLEASE.
June 30th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
creature comforts really was something we could enjoy with all our cats. you could say it was the cats meow!
June 30th, 2007 at 5:32 am
CBS makes it’s decision to pull “Creature Comforts” based on polling the voting public of Florida. And once again all of America pays the price!
June 28th, 2007 at 11:37 pm
Do what the Jericho fans did and shut down their inboxes with messages.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:58 pm
As the American executive producer of the show, I speak for the entire crew when I say we really appreciate all the support from you Creature Comforts fans. To let CBS know how you feel about pulling the show, and to help the chances of being able to see episodes 4-7, there’s an official CBS comment form at: http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml
June 28th, 2007 at 1:56 pm
What happened to this Great Show? Just because you don’t get a zillion viewers in the first 3 weeks, you give up on the best new show of the summer?
How about giving us some time to get our friends watching. I sent out an e-mail on Monday, to about 20 friends, so they could see this great show, and what do I find at 8pm? That terrible rerun.
Thankfully, my friends didn’t call me with complaints.
But, here is my complaint to you.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:37 am
CBS is so stupid to air the very very stale “Christine” in place of the fresh “Creature Comforts” - yet the networks wonder why they are losing viewers - b/c they keep showing SOS - Same Old S…tuff.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:32 am
It was bad enough bringing in cheerleader Katie Couric to replace trustworthy and wise news anchor Bob Schieffer. Now CBS cancels the best show in years in favor of tired reruns of the crappy Christine???? I was so irritated at CBS Monday night that I am boycotting the network and many other viewers are doing the same. Shame on CBS for their very poor decision. I felt it refreshing to finally see a program that wasn’t as in-your-face vulgar as Christine…which has some sort of “boobs” or bedroom reference at least once every 60 seconds. While Creatures may have had some such references, they were often glazed over by the clever animation or turned around and used as a different meaning. I guess Creature Comforts was just too witty and smart a program for CBS (which obviously stands for Crass, Brash & Smutty). I will be tuning in to PBS for my television time from now on.
June 28th, 2007 at 6:37 am
I guess CBS figures the public needs a laugh track to let viewers know when to laugh at hackneyed jokes. Creature Comforts IS the funniest 30 minutes on TV. Whoever made the decision to pull the show should be fired. And may his next job last 3 weeks…
June 28th, 2007 at 5:19 am
It’s a shame that an innovative, entertaining show is pulled because the network feels too few of us are watching. Then they put reruns on as if they think the ratings will go up. One more reason to not turn the tv on.
June 28th, 2007 at 3:30 am
It is a shame to see Creature Comforts go… I found the show by accident one night, but thought it was hysterical, and told everyone I know about it. Like others, they have tuned in to see it, but were disappointed to find out it wasn’t on. Creature Comforts was a breath of fresh air to all of the dating and game reality shows that all networks seem to play nowadays.
I find it hard to believe reruns of The New Adventures of Old Christine will attract more than the 4.3 million viewers that the last episode of Creature Comforts had.
I also think the show could have been advertised better. Oh well, who knows… maybe this will be one of those cases where the show is picked up by another network, and turns out to be a huge success… Or maybe CBS will reconsider their decision and continue to air Creature Comforts. :o)
June 27th, 2007 at 11:05 pm
Finally a show that was suitable for the entire family and it gets pulled? Good grief! Grrr.
June 27th, 2007 at 2:03 pm
Sad. Very sad. Creature Comforts was a funny and creative alternative to the crap that is currently on. The world doesn’t need more Old Christine, it needs more new Creature Comforts!
June 27th, 2007 at 1:11 pm
I, too, had a feeling that this show would not last. It was too good, too clever, too wonderful… I wrote to CBS after the first episode to rave about the show and asking them to give it a chance, and I then wrote an e-mail to my friends and family. We even got a group of people together to convince them that it was so worth it. A pox on CBS…damn.
Patty
June 27th, 2007 at 11:58 am
Creature Comforts was the best, most original show to be seen on TV in years. Everyone I know who watched it thought it was hilarious. PLEASE…bring it back.
June 27th, 2007 at 11:37 am
Loved “Creature Comforts.” What a hoot !! It’s the only show on TV that is really funny , and in a very unique way. My friends and I were all settled down to watch the next episode on Monday when , much to our disappointment, there was a rerun of some idiotic sitcom. PLEASE show the reamining episodes.

Finally something different and you had to pull it. If you would have only waited a while. I have told so many people about the show and when they tuned in on Monday it was gone. Hmmm maybe the viewership would have gone up as more people heard about Creature Comforts.

Some how I knew this would happen. A fresh show that was a bit on the edge. Not for Children and should have been advertised that way.
Sorry to see it go, I loved it.

Please run the last few episodes of Creature Comforts for the few million of us that did watch the show. I told my entire family to watch it this past Monday because it is laugh-out-loud funny and we were all disappointed when it wasn’t on.

How disappointing that you cancelled Creature Comforts, the only show on CBS I watched. Now I won’t be watching CBS at all.

Bring Creature Comforts back! Right now! I look forward to watching it on Mondays and I was livid when I saw the New Adventures of Old Christine. My routine–get home at 5:30, exercise, shower, pop a bag of popcorn, and WATCH Creature Comoforts! You messed up my routine. Please bring it back! I think it’s hilarious and for a change–I get the jokes. The different dialects and expressions–they are so funny. Please bring it back.

I’m getting pretty tired of networks jerking shows off when they don’t pull 100 million viewers right off the bat. Give us a chance to get used to when the show is coming on, for pete’s sake. I actually arranged my life on Mon. night to catch this really cute show. I would watch “Old Christine” only with a gun to my grandchild’s head. This is why I have pared my TV watching down to about 3 hours a week. Bottom line is money, not what people want.
