Day Break: Petition to Save the Taye Diggs Series
Did you miss Day Break on ABC last night? If so, you’re certainly not alone. We’ve been innundated with emails and traffic from people looking for details on what’s happened to the Taye Diggs series.
For those who don’t know, Day Break has been pulled from primetime by ABC after just six episodes due to low ratings. The on-going storyline is hardly resolved with seven unaired episodes left in the season. ABC has said they will post episodes (one per week) on their website but many people don’t have a powerful enough computer, can’t access the Internet long enough to watch, don’t have a fast Internet connection or, for many other reasons, simply can’t view the episodes. In short, millions of people who could have seen future episodes on free network television, will never see this excellent series — and we think the decision-makers should know.
So, we’re inviting you to sign a petition that asks the network and the production companies (Gross Entertainment and Touchstone Television) to release the series so that more people can see it — to return the series to network TV or at the least, to release it on DVD. With enough interest, there could even be a second season or a movie.
Let your friends, neighbors and co-workers know — anyone who misses Day Break — where they can find this petition. Naturally, the more names are collected, the better.

We, the undersigned have enjoyed much of your programming, particularly the outstanding Day Break series. We have enjoyed the Taye Diggs series each week and are dismayed that it has been pulled from the primetime schedule.
We believe that the ratings have not accurately shown the show’s popularity for success. After just six episodes, we believe that Day Break was not given enough time to fully establish a potentially huge audience. Please remember that many very popular shows like MASH, 24 and Cheers were not immediate hits.
We understand that ABC is posting the remaining episodes online but, for a variety of reasons, millions of people are not able to see these episodes — resulting in lost viewership for you and disappointment and frustration for them.
We respectfully request that you return Day Break to network television and to consider continuing production of further episodes or even a film. At the very least, we ask that you make the existing episodes available to a wider audience via a DVD release.

I am totally upset. The 6 episodes were great. I didn’t even know that they were airing the other 7 on the internet. Even if they thought the ratings sucked, they could have let it play out. A bunch of unwanted reruns to replace this great story line was the worst decision ever I want the season on DVD’s. I am sure that Taye Diggs doesn’t want to come back after that pathetic attempt to pull in ratings. Do they even count the people who T-Vo or use a DVR?

This show was amazing! It’s a shame that some people didn’t give it a chance. A great cast and very well written. There must be a DVD release and a second season!

I hope these comments are sent again to ABC (after all of these months and additions)…to make a point. Even though it appears that there is no possibility of a Day Break return, they need to see the strong support for this awesome show, both domestic and international. Their decision making process needs to be rethought….OBVIOUSLY. I still refuse to watch any ABC shows….they have alienated me for a lifetime!!!! P.S. I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t have access to the last episode on-line. It IS there. I doubt, however, that ABC will have the brains to release it on DVD..so enjoy it on-line while and if you can!

What the heck happened!!!..Im so upset at the fact that I was left with my mouth opened on what the hell happens to T on the show….Im going crazy on the internet tryin to find some continuance of episodes and find nothinmg..please just air the whole season either online or late night tv…I want to know what happened..

I am sick of ABC! They have done it again. Will Traveler was anothe rgood show and they cancelled it just like they did Day Break! Enough is Enough! How can I see the ending of both these shows. I don’t even watch a whole lot of TV but when I do this happens.

They have started showing D ay Break in Sweden. This is really dissapointing we have been glued to the tv. I just dont get it!

STUPID ABC YOU SUCK AND ARE ALL CRACK SMOKERS I JUST WATCHED THE SHOW BORED HERE AT WORK GOOGLED TO SEE WHEN THE NEW SERIES STARTS AND ITS CANCELLED I LOVE THIS SHOW AND I AM SO BUMMED IT IS CANCELLED….. CRACK HEADS

Please bring Daybreak back! My husband and I love the show and really hoped that it would do well enough to make it. The cast was awesome, the story line was amazing and the plot was very well thought out. But the best part was it was different from any other show America had ever seen! Honestly I think this show was not given a fair chance to make it. I am happy to have the opportunity to watch additional unaired episodes online however I would really like to see the series finale. If ABC can’t accomodate it, please sell it to someone else and let them continute the show!!

The show was one of those shows that made me want to watch TV. I am going to quit watching your network if you keep dropping good shows. Don’t sign it on if you don’t think it will be able to finish the season. Or at least let the series play out to give people enough time to tell their friends about the show.
