Day Break: Petition to Save the Taye Diggs Series
Did you miss Day Break on ABC last night? If so, you’re certainly not alone. We’ve been innundated with emails and traffic from people looking for details on what’s happened to the Taye Diggs series.
For those who don’t know, Day Break has been pulled from primetime by ABC after just six episodes due to low ratings. The on-going storyline is hardly resolved with seven unaired episodes left in the season. ABC has said they will post episodes (one per week) on their website but many people don’t have a powerful enough computer, can’t access the Internet long enough to watch, don’t have a fast Internet connection or, for many other reasons, simply can’t view the episodes. In short, millions of people who could have seen future episodes on free network television, will never see this excellent series — and we think the decision-makers should know.
So, we’re inviting you to sign a petition that asks the network and the production companies (Gross Entertainment and Touchstone Television) to release the series so that more people can see it — to return the series to network TV or at the least, to release it on DVD. With enough interest, there could even be a second season or a movie.
Let your friends, neighbors and co-workers know — anyone who misses Day Break — where they can find this petition. Naturally, the more names are collected, the better.

We, the undersigned have enjoyed much of your programming, particularly the outstanding Day Break series. We have enjoyed the Taye Diggs series each week and are dismayed that it has been pulled from the primetime schedule.
We believe that the ratings have not accurately shown the show’s popularity for success. After just six episodes, we believe that Day Break was not given enough time to fully establish a potentially huge audience. Please remember that many very popular shows like MASH, 24 and Cheers were not immediate hits.
We understand that ABC is posting the remaining episodes online but, for a variety of reasons, millions of people are not able to see these episodes — resulting in lost viewership for you and disappointment and frustration for them.
We respectfully request that you return Day Break to network television and to consider continuing production of further episodes or even a film. At the very least, we ask that you make the existing episodes available to a wider audience via a DVD release.

I was looking up something online about the new show journeyman and I came across this….I was wondering what happened to that show….I loved daybreak..I must have forgot about it after the holidays…I also think the girlfriend from daybreak is also the dead/not dead girlfriend on journeyman….wierd…I thought I knew her from somewhere!

Daybreak was one of the best shows i have ever watched i am extremely dissapointed that is has been cancelled and really have to wonder why it didnt do so well in my opinion i liked daybreak better then lost but thats just my opinion pleaseeee bring it back!!

This is by far my favorite show, one of my top 3. It really kept you on your toes beacause you never knew what was going to happen. Unfortunately when the air time wasn’t a good night for me to watch due to work
And now I’m just trying to find any episodes out there online & if they made DVD’s I’d purchase it!

I want Day Break on DVD, it was a great show and I didn’t even know it was ABC.com all this time and was recently removed. I’ve always wanted to know what happened to Hopper!

i really liked the show and i was gutted wen it was cut that was not fair there was no need for that show the rest and bring out a second series cos it was the best

I really enjoyed Day Break, there aren’t too many good series on TV these days, but this is one that I really liked. It’s really a shame that it was cancelled.. I guess it’s just another example that it’s only about ratings and money, instead of what it should be about.. Quality! PUT IT BACK ON!

I’ve been waiting for the next episode for months! I told my friends and family about the series but apparently before they had a chance to see it, it was axed! I’m pretty dissappointed that I won’t see the next installments. It must have been bad timing for the show to start because it was fun and exciting to watch.

Taye Diggs is now on THe Practice. and Adam Baldwin is on CHuck. I dont know that either one has the time.
I dont know if they filmed all the episodes. but I would love to see the conclusion…DVD is the Best most cost effective method.

Even after all these months since cancellation, the five people in my family still hanker to see the remaining episodes/denoument. DVD at least, PLEASE!

I have been waiting and waiting for Day Break to return, as a mid-season replacement, or whatever you wnat to call it, just bring it back. It was such an intriguing series, and then it just STOPPED! Hello, some of us were really enjoying it and waiting to see what happened. At least show us the final episodes that will tie up the loose ends. Please…

Hey, any word regarding possible release of DVDs of Daybreak? This week I wanted to watch the entire series online again, only to find it gone….. I’d purchase the DVD set in a heartbeat. Hopefully ABC will consider doing that????
