Day Break: Taye Diggs Series to Return January 29th
After pulling Day Break from the ABC primetime schedule in December, the network said that it would release the remaining seven episodes online. Fans were shocked by the cancellation and then enraged when the episodes didn’t appear on the ABC website (reportedly due to online music rights issues). Then, to add fuel to the fire, the Day Break page was removed for the network site. Last week, ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPhearson announced that the remaining episodes would be released by late February at the latest. It now appears Day Break fans finally have a pleasant surprise.
ABC has now said that the previously aired episodes, as well as three new episodes will be streamed from ABC.com starting January 29th. A new episode will then be posted each Monday afterwards until all 13 episodes in the series have been released online. The series finale will be available on February 19th. It’s unclear if older episodes will be pulled as the new ones are made available (as NBC did with Kidnapped).
If, for whatever reason, you can’t view these Day Break episodes online and/or you’d like to see Detective Hopper’s story continue past the single season of Day Break, stop by our online petition and sign it. We’ll be sending it off to the network, production companies and Taye Diggs soon. Stay tuned!

I thought I’d surf the Internet to see why “Day Break” hasn’t been on air since the holidays. I had no idea I’d be watching the final episodes through my computer monitor. Ugh!

I can’t believe they (ABC) are pulling the best show with so much drama. I would like to continue watching Daybreak on t.v. at the same time and day that I was watching when it premiered. I didn’t start out watching on the internet so why would you want the viewers to now watch the remaining episodes on the internet. I feel you are cheating the viewers. At least ABC should finish what they have started. If it was one of those boring comedy shows (yes they are boring) ABC would have no problem airing the rest of those episodes. Please ABC think about it…..

Our family, which includes over 30 people, were all watching Day Break . We thought it was excellent and we totally hooked. Why would abc think it is okay to begin and series and then just end it with no resolution for the fans. If ABC for some strange reason think series TV doesn’t work, they should try watching Fox. I can’t imagine how many thousands of viewers are angry. Who, in the name of God, would want to watch the remainder of a series they loved on a computer screen. You can be certain our huge family will never pick up another ABC series. We will stick with the more viewer friendly, less arrogant stations. More successful, too probably. Do the right thing and finish what you started. Regadless of what you may think it was some of the best TV you’ve done in years.

It’s amazing that a company pulls a great show and there are still three days a week when I have nothing to watch! Why not move it to another day!

I really enjoyed the show and was so mad when it was abruptly cancelled. It was only a 13 episode show that was in a tough position since it started airing during the holiday season.
I remember when a network would stick with a show and let it find it’s audience, like NBC did with the early seasons of Seinfeld. With the shooting already completed, ABC could have changed the time slot to accomodate the lower ratings and loyal fans would have followed. No one is going to stick around for reruns of Jim Belushi’s show (see I can’t even think of the name of it)
A show like Day Break needs closure because of how it is initially set up. To draw us in and not provide a resolution makes ABC’s reputation suffer and makes me not want to invest my time in future shows. I was an avid viewer of Lost but at this point I’m not interested in watching it. Who knows it may be suddenly cancelled and we’ll never find out where those polar bears came from.

We loved this show! The ratings were good and my wife and I were loyal viewers. We fell for all of the advertising hype two-months in advance, then ABC yanks it after 4 great episodes! What, does ABC expect us to watch there replacements on Wednesday night at 9? No, I don’t think so! It’s bad enough that we have to put up with more and more comercial interuptions on top of pay TV, but this takes the cake! Did ABC even notice the great actors and compeling story line?

The Show was aweasome, The twist and turns. I know it may be hard to keep the viewers interested as the show gets longer. But i mean its a good show. You know just make his correction of one day oe episode. Like 24 kinda, GREAT SHOW BRING IT BACK ABC

I was shocked to see that ABC pulled Day Break. What a great show. I was hooked and looking forward to the next episode when suddenly ….GONE. My favorite episode was “What if the snook is awakened”. THAT was the coolest.

Unfortunately this does us in Canada no good since we will not be able to view it on the ABC website

This show was awesome! How can the networks keep asking us to watch new TV shows, if they are going to yank them off the air before they are finished?
Of course they had low ratings, isn’t that why they took Lost off the air for the holiday season? They were setting themselves up for failure before they got started!
Bring this show back, or I will delete ABC from my channels!

Was stunned this fine series was pulled. Compared to other fare on ABC, someone should be fired. I watch shows like LOST and DAY BREAK because the acting sparks, and the writing delivers surprises. If I can say ‘Whoa! Didn’t see that one coming!’ more than twice an episode, then my time with a show is well spent. As a baby boomer who grew up with TV, I can usually figure the end of a show 10 minutes into it. Writers have to work harder to keep my interest. The writing, concept and execution of this series was amazing. Unlike HEROES (where we spent the first 5 episodes wondering where they were going and if we weren’t just wasting our time), DAY BREAK delivered a hook and surprises in the pilot that left us begging for more. I have NEVER bothered to write to a studio before, but if someone has an address they can post, I’ll write one for this show. The cancelation of shows like this makes it easy to understand why the networks are losing market share.

I just checked out ABC’s website and there it was. Hopefully, more people find out about this. Sorry to hear about those outside the US. Go sign the petition on this site so they’ll release it on DVD. Click on that “Save Day Break” button above.

I was really enjoying the show prior to its cancellation. Unfortunately if ABC releases it only online I don’t think the viewers here in Canada will be able to watch it.
