Moonlight: The Vampire Series Could Return on the CW

MoonlightThough CBS has cancelled the fan favorite show, it seems Moonlight may not be dead yet. Kinda appropriate for a vampire show.

Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Moonlight may be moving to the CW — but not as part of the regular schedule that was reported earlier today.

The CW has had a very difficult time attracting viewers to any of their Sunday night programming. As a result, they recently made the decision to sell the entire 7-10pm timeblock — not just the commercial space. They found a buyer in Media Rights Capital (MRC), an indie company. Under the agreement, MRC will develop programming and sell advertising time to go with it.

According to Finke, there’s a chance that MRC may pick up Moonlight to fill some of that airtime. But, if they want it, they’ll have to work fast.

When the cancellation news came down, the Warner Bros. crew was told to start tearing down the Moonlight sets almost immediately. When this new deal became a possibility, they were told to hold off — until Friday.

Would Moonlight be a good fit? Obviously being on the CW on Sunday nights would be an uphill battle ratings-wise. But, if the vampire show could bring most of its CBS viewers to the night, it would be outperforming just about everything else on the network. We’ll keep you posted. Stay tuned! I sure hope that the CW takes Moonlight. it’s a great show and the characters are good too! The show still has lots of potential for new plot developments and new characters…werewolves maybe?? Got to have some good villans! Anyway…KEEP MOONLIGHT ALIVE!!

If we could have a network that has brains
they would pick up all the great shows that idiot networks dump
and they would have the best ratings
so if any of you tv bosses out there with guts here are a few to start with

New Amsterdam , Moonlight, Firefly , Jericho,

butt then nobody has the stones do they

I really hope that someone picks up this great show. I don’t really watch too much TV but this is one show I wouldn’t miss, every Friday night I was set to watch Moonlight. I really can’t believe that CBS would cancel such a great show. They had 8 Million viewers and that would have grown to much more. Some of the other shows like Bones, NCIS have around the 10 million mark and have been on TV alot longer than Moonlight. Given a chance I think Moonlight could have had that and more. Please somebody save this great show.

I have read several of the comments written here, and I tottaly agree with them. CBS doesn’t know a good show from a hole in their butts. They cancel the good and keep the bad. The only thing on CBS I watch is GHOST WHISPER and NUMBERS. I’m waiting for those to be canceled to, but if they were half as smart as a rock they would keep MOONLIGHT. However,I don’t think anyone overthere is that smart.

Here we go again a great show cancelled what is up with CBS . I am amazed at the shows they put on. Noticed that they started a new show last night called SwingTown what a piece of trash. Just what our young people need to watch and think hey it is ok to switch partners. Everyone I know loves the characters and story lines on Moonlight. Hey and what about Mick what a **** Vamp. Hope another network picks it up. CBS is so good at cancelling good shows another one in point Jericho. Hope they wake up sometimes!!!!

This show won a People’s Choice award!!! I absolutely love this show. I just don’t understand what is wrong with these television executives. Instead of spending the money on a show that is obviously a fan favorite, they will turn around and spend it on some cheaper shows that most likely won’t make it through the first few episodes. If CBS doesn’t reconsider, I do hope that the CW picks Moonlight up for season two.

CBS was stupid to cancel Moonlight but I hope it gets picked up by the CW network or another. I’ll definitely be watching whereever it ends up. I think Moonlight would fit in better with the CW network though, just because CW use to be WB (plus UPN) and they’re familiar with shows that deal with the supernatural elements like Angel, Buffy, Charmed and now Supernatural (I guess Smallville falls into this genre too although it’s really based more off of the Superman comics). But SciFi is another good network to house Moonlight. :)

I absolutely love this show! And I can not believe CBS canceled it. This is the best thing that has happened to that network in a long time! But truth be told. I think it’s more suitable for CW. So I really hope they pick it up.

I mean, how bout CBS has no ****. Whoever’s behind the call to cancel Moonlight is a dickhead. Im not sorry for what I’ve just said. Supernatural dramas has always been my thing. To make me entered a door ,and then slammed back at my face, is totally not funny. Im beginning to dig this new obsession and voila, CBS just had to throw **** at my face, our faces. How bout we boycott and not watch anything on CBS till they understand what that show means to us.

Obviously, we the fans sense something good is brewing up in this drama. The forbidden couple (ala Angel & Buffy), the ego-eccentric but oh-so-**** Josef, the new twist in the vampire so-called chronicle, sleeping in a fridge?… Its strange, yes but its fresh. Don’t they see that?

Just hope someone do pick up where CBS had last dropped their pile of dung and kick CBS back in the butt where it hurts. This is like my cure for missing Buffy. I still couldnt get over the fact Buffy had ended. And this? Enough already people.

    I’m P.I.S.S.E.D !!!!

Here’s hoping this works out! I finally started getting into the the show, only to find out that it was getting canceled!(Always seems to happen to me) Moonlight’s the first decent vampire show to be produced since Angel and Buffy! Don’t let it die!

Please keep Moonlight on the air!!! It’s so amazing and Alex O’ Loughlin is a great actor and extremely good looking. If the Cw takes the show they’ll bring an all new fan, because as they say, where Moonlight and Mick go, the 8 million or so fans will follow.

    Vampire Solidarity RAH!!! RAH!!! RAH!!!

This is one of the BEST tv shows out there! Please save Moonlight and keep the show running. I don’t care what network picks it up, just as long as one other network picks it up. The fans of Moonlight will follow the show where ever it goes so give us our show back! Moonlight is one of the only tv shows that I watch and I want it arouind for a long time. The show has so much potential if it is only given a chance so PLEASE give Moonlight a chance!

I really hope The CW network (or MRC I guess) picks up Moonlight for their Sunday night line up…. it would be a perfect fit and I think almost all of Moonlight’s loyal fanbase would follow the show across to The CW or any other network that picked it up!
