Moonlight: Writers Preparing for Season Two of CBS Vampire Drama
CBS has yet to renew the Friday night vampire series but that’s not stopping Moonlight executive producer Joel Silver and the show’s writers. They’re already plotting Moonlight’s second season.
While promoting the upcoming Speed Racer film, Silver talked about Moonlight’s prospects for a second year on CBS. He said, “We’re hopeful… I mean, the next episode goes on next Friday night [April 25th], which is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O'Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes. And I hope that it does come back, because we have a whole plan for next year that’s fantastic.”
The network has been on the fence about renewing Moonlight though it seems like the chances are good. Silver says that he’s scheduled to meet with CBS programming executives to talk about the show’s future. “Well, we’re going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell them what we’re going to do next year.”
Based on what the programmers hear and the performance of the new episodes, they’ll decide whether Mick St. John will return to walk the streets of Los Angeles next fall. CBS announces its 2008-09 schedule in mid-May. Stay tuned!

Moonlight has so much potential for season two! I must agree with Kavala, Greece, if we don’t get to see season two there’s going to be a prolific rate of artery biting ( or perhaps just a drop in CBS’ viewership, which I’m sure CBS would consider to be worse ; ] ).

I think that CBS is a f***ing idiot for dropping Moonlight. I know for a fact that they will be losing several viewers on Friday night. I’m wiling to go to what ever channel that picks up the Moonlight series.

Moonlight is the best show ever. I normally do not watch CBS that much. But Fridays are the best night of TV on CBS with Moonlight and Ghost Whisperer. Do not cancel Moonlight. Congrats to the writers of the show they are the best. I also am wanting to buy the 1st episode of Moonlight on DVD.

Best show on CBS by far…. please let Mick an Beth get together. Please do not let go of a good thing. If the show goes, I go … Best show by far.

I got a little tired of the predictability of “CSI”, so “Moonlight” is the only show I watch on CBS now. Even for a vampire story, the storyline is unique and the chemistry between Mick and Beth is amazing! The writer’s strike had me so worried - I can’t express how happy I was when I saw new episodes scheduled!!
This is such a fun, entertaining, suspenseful, amazing, intriguing show . . . . please, please, PLEASE keep it on the air! I’m a single mom, so my Friday nights are lacking in the social entertainment department. Don’t let my entire Friday night be a dud!

Please, please renew MOONLIGHT- the best thing on TV! It deserves a full second season. We never miss it and hope we can count on CBS !

Moonlight Rocks! I plan my Friday night schedule around Moonlight. It is a fantastic show with an ever-growing dedicated fan base. My husband is even starting to watch the show too; this from a man who wouldn’t watch at first because he knew I really liked it and thought it was going to be a sappy chick show. He is now realizing differently and tuning in for the storyline, the drama and the action. Hope CBS realizes what it has hear and takes into consideration what this show has come through out of a truly topsy turvy season because of the writers strike. Moonlight has maintained and continued its viewership from the last show aired in January till the last 4 episodes started on April 25th - that should tell the PTB something!

Typical CBS. Oh well, maybe USA will pick it up since they have 2 slots open on Friday nights……….
I’m so glad I don’ watch this network except for this show. Seems they like ******** fans…….

Please keep the show i really love this show and there are still many unanswered questions. This show is doing good on ratings, why would you cut a show like that. Please keep Moonlight.

We look forward to watching Moonlight every Friday night. Please reconsider and renew — at least for season two! The writer’s strike has hurt a lot of series; don’t let Moonlight be among those to do!

Don’t be stupid and drop the show. Your the ones losing the viewers. Someother network will pick it up and you’ll lose.

I hope CBS is smart enough to renew Moonlight. If they aren’t I hope another network will pick it up. I’ll go anywhere the show does.

Are you serious….there is finally another Vampire show…and one that’s good, then the network wants to give it the ax. This is one of the best shows on the television…I don’t watch a lot, but I make it a purpose to watch this one. Don’t let this one go, Mick and Beth are an awesome pair. Let’s see this one through, KEEP IT ON THE AIR.

I hope you don’t pull this show too. I loved jericho. Moonlight is a great show. I love the chemisty between Mick and Beth.

It’s an excelent show and it would be a pity if they cancel it. Thankfully we’ve got good news for season 2! Season 1’s ending was a bit incomplete. We need more episodes or we will go out and start bitting people’s necks!

If CBS doesn’t renew Moonlight…their exec’s should have their heads examined.
The series is interesting and engaging.
CBS HAD a winner with AmericanGothic in the mid 90’s and cancelled that show in spite of good ratings and a solid following. Well written program… like Moonlighting an cut above the usual TV dreck.

I’m pulling for the show to be renewed. Hopefully CBS execs will open their eyes to see the light in renewing “Moonlight”. CBS has been known to make some bad decisions in the past, so who knows what will eventually happen.

PLease renew MOONLIGHT. It’s the best new show> I love Mick and Beth!!!!!
