Surface: Petition to Finish the Science Fiction Series
The sci-fi series Surface ran for just one short season of 15 episodes on NBC.
The show attracted a lot of fans who couldn’t wait to see how the story would be resolved. Unfortunately, the series was prematurely cancelled and several plotlines were left hanging. Who survived the tsunami? Will we ever know?

We, the undersigned, have faithfully followed the science-fiction series Surface. We were shocked and upset when the series was cancelled and the exciting storylines were left unresolved.
We ask that you find some way to bring the Surface story to a proper conclusion — preferably as a weekly series or as a TV or direct-to-DVD movie. At the very least, please publish a companion book to the series that would detail the story’s resolution. We are convinced that there is still a great market for this show.

SURFACE was great stuff, got a raw deal by nbc b/c of when they decided to air it, breaking for the winter olympics of 2006, and then trying to come back….they should have put it on suring the summer, when people are actively looking for new interesting shows, so it could have gotten a serious steady fanbase. they do need to resolve the story soemhow, but serously, the world that the characters inhabit has been so radically changed, it would take years to tell the story. i would love to see a 2 hour movie dealing wth the aftermath of the tsunami, what havoc the creatures have wrought, etc in a book or book series, or a miniseries or something, but even then theres no real way to wrap it up all neat and tidy. their world is still a mess and while the ending that they had for it was not perfect by a long shot, it is kind of how it should have ended : the world all wacked out b/c of the creatures.

Would love to know how the story ends. Why would a TV station cancel so many shows in the middle of a season like that. The same year there were several other shows that were cancelled. Bad idea if you ask me.
