Buffy the Vampire Slayer
A groundbreaking fantasy series by Joss Whedon that has a simple premise — high school is hell. Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) moves to Sunnyvale to escape her past but soon learns that the quiet town’s high school is located on a Hellmouth, a portal to demon dimensions. She is helped by her Watcher teacher Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), vampire with a soul Angel (David Boreanaz), and schoolmates Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendon), Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan), and Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter). Later characters include tough slayer Faith (Eliza Dushku), reluctant werewolf Daniel “Oz” Osbourne (Seth Green), witch Tara Maclay (Amber Benson), vengeance demon Anya (Emma Caulfield), and vampire Spike (James Marsters).
