Gossip Girl
Based on the popular books by Cecily von Ziegesar, this drama series follows a group of young adults who attend a private school in New York’s Upper East Side.
Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) is the former “It” girl who returns to New York after leaving suddenly a year before. She tries unsuccessfully to revive her close friendship with Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) who has been dating Serena’s former boyfriend Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford).
Serena does find an ally in Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) and his sister Jenny (Taylor Momsen) who can’t compete economically with their classmates.
Others include: Nate’s wild friend, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick); Dan and Jenny’s artist father, Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle); and Serena’s snobby mother, Lillian van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford).
The series is narrated by the unseen gossip blogger known only as Gossip Girl (Kristen Bell).
