2007 Cancelled Shows: CW Drops Old Favorites

Veronica Mars hangs onIt’s been an interesting freshman year for the new CW. The network hasn’t really grown its audience but that’s not surprising considering almost all of the season’s shows came from either WB or UPN. They’re dumping most of them this time around. Here’s a recap of won’t be back for the CW’s 2007-08 season:

All of Us The sitcom co-created by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has been dropped after four seasons and 88 episodes. The finale aired on Monday night.

Gilmore Girls – Though the network wanted to bring the drama back for an eighth season, an agreement couldn’t be reached with the series’ two female leads. The last episode aired on Tuesday night.

Reba – The Reba McEntire sitcom was given a reprieve last year and returned for 13 episodes this season. Despite being one of the highest rated shows on the network, it was cancelled. The last episode aired on February 18, 2007.

Runaway – The drama about a family on the run starred Donnie Wahlberg and was pulled after just three episodes. Three other episodes were reportedly completed but went unaired.

7th Heaven – The series was rescued from cancellation last season after the “final episode” aired. The show’s 11th season disappointed many and the ratings fell. The final episode aired last Sunday.

Veronica Mars – After three seasons, the gal detective series is officially canceled. But CW’s Dawn Ostroff is talking with Mars creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell about possibly doing a new series for the network. It’s unclear if the new show would relate to Mars. The deadline for deciding on a Veronica Mars-related series would reportedly be June 15, 2007.

Returning series include: America’s Next Top Model, Beauty and the Geek, Everybody Hates Chris, The Game, Girlfriends, Smallville, Supernatural, and Friday Night Smackdown.

One Tree Hill and Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, will return mid-season (January or earlier). Hill will be reworked and set four years into the future, post-college. CW will post journal entries from the characters that will bring viewers up to date until the series returns. Stay tuned! TV Series Finale home page

What the HELL!!! All of US is one of the positive black shows on tv today. Lets try and not make this a black/white thing. Get it together. Everytime a “Black” show becomes popular the network cancels it. What the HELL!!!

I hated they cancelled all of us and Verionca Mars. I really liked these shows. They always gotta cancelled the black shows soon its going to be all white shows on the cw. They need to cancelle them dumb ass shows like smallville and supernatural b/c the sh*t is fake n~e ways who gives a damn about stuff like that. These shows should have stayed:
One on One, Veronica Mars, All of us, Cuts. The CW is really gettin lame next its going to be Chris, The game and girlfriends. If those get cancelled im never watchin this channel again.

Why would NBC cancel Raines, then keep the Raines official website active?
Also,if you’ve noticed the CW has replaced many of their cancelled shows with new shows that have actors who look as though they just got out of High School.
I can’t relate to that young a crowd.

Once a show gets a popular fan based networks are so confused that we are caught up in their network and not the show because we tend to watch the ones we don’t like rather than channel surf. What they are forgetting is that it is the consumer that signs their paychecks by tunning in. If a person can call in an vote for American idol they should allow us to vote for which shows to return the next year. This way they are able to please the majority of consumers and keep their ratings high. I was disappointed when they abruptly removed One on One, All of Us, Eve and Half and Half.

These are the shows that the CW shouldn’t have canceled:

One On One
Half&Half
All Of Us
Eve
Cuts
Veronica Mars and more

Why in the world would you say ”season finale” if it was actually ”series finale” if you wanted to cancel a show and still make viewers happy say ”series finale” with a better ending !!!

All of Us was on the CW for 4 seasons, not 3. But I’m not really surprised that they canceled it…the show was on a steady decline downhill with wacky plotlines. I just hope they don’t get rid of ALL the black shows.

Veronica Mars on the other hand was fantastic, and I only really discovered it this year. Funny that they canceled one of the best shows on the network…

To the dork that says Smackdown is a live show, it’s not. It’s taped on a Tuesday, plus it’s a storyline driven series, just like any of the other shows. CW would be stupid to cancel that show, its target is their key demographic…

I am sooooo upset the All of Us has been cancelled. The show and the characters have grown and developed so much. It the mist of the comedy, there were several teaching moments that could be applied to real-life. The CW network should be ashamed!

I have been going through a difficult period in my life and have only recently discovered Reba. I became addicted to the show. She became my role model. Each day I watch every single episode and keep hoping to find new ones. I had no idea this great sit-com was cancelled.

I’ll send you all a bill from my therapist – whatever the heck a CW is.

I’m too very upset that Veronica Mars and All of Us was cancelled. They were the best shows on CW. Well I guess when they took them off of Fox it & UPN, it was a plot get rid of the good shows. I like Girlfriends but it’s silly! All of Us showed black family values. And Veronica Mars was just a good show. No wonder these television stations are in so much financial trouble, they keep cancelling all the good shows and replacing them with corny shows. Actions like this makes people not want to watch t.v. and thats how ratings go down and don’t come back up because situations like that. The public feels as if they can’t trust them anymore. I’m so tire of reality TV! Those people make us look like fools. Anyways, I’m just one opinion
