I will miss Numbers, The Forgotten, Life, Life on Mars, Trauma, Three Rivers, 24, Happy Town, (I can’t think of the name but it was about 1st yr lawyers on ABC). The problem is all these shows are network shows and the networks don’t give them a chance to gain a following without crying about production costs unlike cable. Also, the writing is much better on cable i.e. Rescue Me , Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, Justified, Weeds, The Glades, White Collar, even the 2 USA shows which I thought would be stupid, Covert Affairs and Rizolli & Ilses.

I’ll miss Raising the Bar, I enjoyed the idealism of Mark-Paul Gosselaar character. You never know how a show will be received but I truly enjoyed it and I hope to find another show I like as much to take it’s place on my DVR.

@ ADMIN – Please, help me out here! I am really confused! Has Law and Order really been cancelled????? It is not on this list! Why were we not given an advance warning of this? There are storylines left unresolved! What is going on here???
A friend told me it has been cancelled after 22 yeas. I said, no, it’s just the end of the season, not the end of the series. Now, Jamnew also lists it as cancelled. NO!!! It’s bad enough they take Saving Grace from me, now Law and Order?
The summer has some excellent shows, but what’s going to happen in the fall when the summer shows go on hiatus? The only things I like are the Law and Order and CSI shows. I hate that cheap reality ____ they are putting out these days. Talk about the dumbing-down of America: it’s not just in schools any more!. PLEASE tell me they are not getting rid of this excellent show!

DOLLHOUSE, was very unique, it was “out there ” at times, but it was good.
I think American Idol is doomed after 2011< FOX should only negotiate one year salaries with the new judges. They need to go back to 3 judges and a weekly guest judge. people will fpllow the talent and the talent will follow Simon Cowell "Simon says, …..watch the X Factor".
the other "reality shows, Hoardes, 190 kids and counting, 9 by "nerdy"design, kate plus the ravenous hoard! there are too many silly shows. I would rather watch old batman or Gilligans island reruns. Ive had enough Reality, I want wild west, space odysseys, time travel.

I totally loved Til Death in it’s original context. It has gone through to many changes and they just keep missing that original comedy… it really is to bad…
I was also disappointed to see Mental on this list. I watched the entire season last summer and have continued to look for a season 2. Much to my disappointment it has bee cancelled…

I loved Till Death’s first season and part of the second; then it just lost it’s edge. Tried watching this season’s but can’t make it through a whole episode. You can tell that no-one’s heart is in it and it’s totally absurd. It won’t be missed in my house!

Let’s hope not! Another good show with action is Burn Notice…USA doesn’t cancel as quickly as other networks do… Royal Pains is not an action show, but it is a nice twist on a medical show. And Leverage is great-some action, a bit of a con, strong women, interesting relationships between characters, humor! Give those two a try, also.
And NONE of them have anyone even remotely like Grace and Earl! Saving Grace is a show unlike any other I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been watching tv since 1952 when I was 5 years old! Leave it to foreigners to take away the one unique viewing experience onthe air. Really a sad commentary on America being bought out by corporations from other countries.

The sad thing is that all of the networks are guilty of the same short-sighted behavior. CBS cancelled Moonlight after one season and then the Twilight movie hit the bigt screen and they realized they had made a big mistake! I thought Moonlight was better than Twilight and was just starting to build a fan base. I watch it every time Chiller or SyFy replays it. As a matter of fact, SyFy has an anll-day marathon of the episodes on May 12.

I was so disappointed when they took Kings off of the air. I though the plot was excellent and that the story was a bit different than what is normal on tv. I knew it was going to be canceled because it didn’t have enough sex and violence in it for the mainstream…. Oh well, that’s what I get for watching a new show. I also have a feeling that V will be cut after the second season. That huge break between episodes lost a lot of people and it doesn’t seem the story is picking up any. It’s kind of choppy feeling to me, but we’ll see.

This just goes to show you shouldn’t watch any new series. Not worth spending the time to invest emotionally in the characters or stories. Unless there is a committment by the network to actually give it a chance, it’s not worth it.

I haven’t watched any “new” TV for 10 years now. Not unless there’s at least 3 seasons of it first and a clear indication that it’s well written. You can always watch it later on DVD. Obviously it’s much better without those stupid comercials.

@Kelly – I think the reason Mental didn’t catch on was that it had some intelligence to it, was subtle, and HARD TO FIND.
I too enjoyed it and was hoping that the last scene, wherein he left the hospital, was simply to let him move to the city where his sister was to be hospitalized. Alas, it was not to be.
There were no heavy action scenes, no gunfights, no fist-fights and no overt sexual tension between him and any of his co-workers. Therefore, the audience reached was not one of the “prime” groups. Too bad.
I did enjoy it, when I could find it.
Another show I miss is The Starter Wife. I love Debra Messing and, being divorced, found it a very amusing show. I had asked a friend to DVR it for me while I was out of town, but he was too busy with his other women to do that. I wanted to know how the various storylines played out…
BUT we do still have Bones, Castle, The Mentalist, The Closer, Burn Notice, Leverage, The Human Target, plus a few others.
It just means that the DVR will get less of a workout than it has in the past. Look for Royal Pains this summer, if you have not seen it. It’s fun, too.

@ Admin: So, if it takes 80 or more episodes for syndication and they are complaining about expenses, why not just add the extra episodes and make their money off syndication?
I cannot believe that Holly Hunter would deliberately walk away from Grace just because she “wants to spend time with her family,” as reported. I must believe she has more integrity than that…there are many people who will be adversely affected by this cancellation, not just viewers. Is her health an issue? Or have Rupert and Emiliano simply made up a story?
And has Nancy Miller given up on finding a new studio? This situation is very confusing…surely there must be a way to continue the show…unless there are health issues about which we know nothing…

What were they thinking? Two shows that can’t be cancelled quick enough are Three Rivers and Accidentially on purpose! Luckily Rivers which started dead on arrival has not been resussitated. And Accidentially should go the way of the Bush administration as just poor judgement and lack of purpose.
Rivers whas a schmaltzy over the top hour of melodrama that seemed unrealistic. There was too much glitzy gee wiz techno effects which distracted from the already week plot lines. This disaster was more suited for NBC not the “Tiffany Network.” It was definitely the weakest link when it aired Sunday nights. It seemed more of an example of schlock 1970′s or early 80′s TV. Anyone remember the Godawful Chopper One? With the cheesy
helocopter graphics/animation.

What can I say about Accidentially on Purpose? It was so horrible it made the Jay Leno 10:00 PM disaster must see TV. Jenna Elfman’s talent was wasted. A show promoting a wealthy yuppy who works in the media industry in New York or whatever big city…. Haven’t we seen this before? zzzz And then add the preface of this turkey…being knocked up on a one night stand and giving the false impression and hope that single motherhood is a bowl of cherries. Maybe because she’s rich, works in a cushy media job in the big city having an out of wedlock baby is as easy as ABC. Wrong! The characters are lame and obnoxious, the jokes anythng but funny and that fricking laugh track. No wonder why our society is spiraling downard to a possible point of no return. Whats next? A sitcom featuring a rich yuppy good looking young hottie who has a cushy job in the media in NYC, La la Land or Boston who gets knocked up and carries her ******* kid and just also happens to be strung out on cocaine or heroin!
What is it with that unlocky 8:30 to 9:00 pm. slot on CBS Monday night of comedies? Remember the Class? That too sucked but not nearly as bad as Accidentially. Come on, we know you can do better.

I am going to miss Defying Gravity, I really liked the show. I watch a lot of TV and I have to say that I haven’t seen a lot of the shows being cancelled. I am kind of tired of the medical and legal series. I would also like to see something different with the romantic tension between the main characters on series, the almost getting together but not quite. Let them get together and be in love and if you want to shake things up have them break up, do something different. It seems like it is always the same formula. I like Castle for instance but just have main characters hook up and start dating. I watch Smallville but I am getting tired of Superman no hooking up either. Also, how does he transport people at super speed? Imagine someone grabbing your arm and taking off at super speed. What would really happen is that your arm would go and you would stay. Plus the person would not be able to handle the G-Force of the trip. The writers should be thinking about this stuff. It is kind of like the old Batman, the bad guys would capture Batman, tie him up and give him a chance to escape and they never removed his mask. How stupid is that? It drove me crazy.

Getting rid of Trauma is just plain stupid. But I don’t suppose any of the suits who decide these matters even bother to watch any of the programs. They just look at the Excel spreadsheets and the Neilsen ratings.

Maybe they should take note of the people who download the programs? I would subscribe a reasonable sum in order to download and watch Trauma legally. I’m not interested in TV advertising.

The producers need another model for the internet age.

Whether we realize it or not, the Neilsons are very easily rigged by the networks themselves, simply by moving a beloved show into a new time slot where nobody can find it. Then the network can say “Oh, we’re cancelling it because it’s lost its viewers.”

No, IT didn’t lose viewers, the viewers lost the NEW TIMESLOT. Taht way, the network can feign innocence while in fact manipulating the ratings to cost us our favorite shows in favor of some cheap dreck that sends us to other channels. I’m not sure why they woud do that, but maybe they think that we are so mesmerized and lazy that we will watch whatever they put in that time. And, unfortunately, to some degree thay are correct.

As for me, I DO know how to change channels and happily do so. TNT does not hold mych interest for me right now. However, The Closer and Leverage will be back in the summer and so will I.

riggarob – There are a number of places ( Cracker Barrel and a wide variety of gas stations/convenience store) that have audio books and DVDs for rent: pick it up here, watch/listen, return it at another location in the chain. Could be 100 or 1000 miles away. The books kept me awake and alert during 4 cross-country trips from TX to NV and CA. I don’t know what’s available, but it wouldn’t hurt to find out. And you can also watch your shows online at the network website…Good luck!

Jennifer, you do not have to miss Monk! If you have cable, find Sleuth network…Yesterday they had a Monk marathon! He can be found on several networks. If your televison provider has a function called “Search” just type in Monk and it will tell you where to find him.
My real anger is that Saving Grace was cancelled before enough episodes were filmed to make it into syndication (or so I’ve been told) – so we either have to buy the DVDs or lose her forever. Right now I’m ready to throw eggs at Rupert and Emiliano!!

Admin: Is my understanding of the situation correct? Are there enough episodes to syndicate Grace?

Mary, we’re in our motor home 6 months of the year, and only 1 DVR, and w/o any premium channels, it still costs us nearly 100 bucks a month for DirecTv! So we don’t get to see shows like”Saving Grace” (and I REALLY like Holly Hunter), unless it’s on the 101 channel. I forgot to mention that “My name is Earl” was a favorite, too. We so hate to get to involved in any good shows now (unless they are reality aka-cheap to make shows – Idol, Amazing Race, et al) knowing full well that it will (might) only last 13 episodes, or LESS! Why do shows like Housewives of pick -a-city last as long as they do? Mind boggling. Robbie

@ riggarob – Castle has in fact been renewed for next seasonm so we’re safe there. Of the other shows you mentioned, I love The Mentalist and Human Target and have not seen any of the others.
The only show on the list of cancellations that I HATE losing is Saving Grace. I love that it is set in my home town and I adore Earl. Holly Hunter is one of the best actresses on television (though certainly NOT the only one!) and I love Grace! I was looking forward to seeing how she would be able to maintain her personality while learning to once again believe in God. I enjoy watching her journey and regret to the depth of my being that it ends so soon.

I am so sorry to hear it; I truly hoped that Nancy Miller would be able to find another production studio and that TNT would jump at the chance to bring Grace back next season. @Adam Decker: The Facebook group sounds interesting. The group that you really need though is “Stop watching lousy shows!” If people did that, the reality programs that many people complain about wouldn’t be on the air any longer.

Our niche is really cancelled shows or series that have ended. New shows aren’t really relevant, though that changes pretty quickly once the networks start cancelling them. However, we try to add show pages (descriptions, network, cast, start date, etc.) before or soonafter a show begins. Based on the odds, most of them will soon be cancelled. Sad but true. Hope that helps.

UGLY BETTY & TRAUMA, those shows I will miss very much! My top shows were: NCIS, The Mentalist, Trauma & Ugly Betty. Otherwise I just hit the books or pop a DVD. As for Ugly Betty, I saw both of the Latin version and lets just say, I enjoyed the english version. The problem is that they kept changing the time it aired. They should have lefted it on Fridays. There’s this saying….if it ain’t broke, why fix it? Every one blames neilson ratings….but I think who ever messes with the air-date is at fault. NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD TIVO OR THINGS LIKE THAT. When I miss the show, I always logged online & viewed, 1-4 times. WHY CAN’T NEILSON CHECK ON THAT?

I’m still mad about the painfully abrupt ending of Ugly Betty. The final episode was a disappointment, though I chalk this up to the sudden cancellation and not the writers, who were mostly very entertaining and probably had to cram an entire season’s worth of answers into two episodes.

Grr…I haven’t been this mad since Dark Angel (directed by James Cameron, so of course it was good) was canceled to make room for Firefly (which was horrible and only lasted a few episodes anyway). Ratings people suck.

I’m really upset about The Bonnie Hunt Show being cancelled. I am heart-broken. She has the best daytime show on TV= No Junk. Bonnie’s show is therepy for the soul. I have never been so sad about a show going off. For almost 2 years, I have had 1 hour during the week that all of the bad things in life are forgotten. I have had an hour of total laughter. Thanks Bonnie and Gang. I really think she had an unfair set-up. She was on different networks in different area. Also, she was given some crazy airtimes, like 11pm, 3am. So NOT fair to the classiest, funniest show on TV.

Hey Zane, hate to tell you this but Seinfeld wasn’t cancelled. Jerry himself decided to end the show after 9 seasons. He had enough. I’m sure NBC was crying about his decision because he was one of their golden boys. I’m happy he made that choice because I think he knew if he kept on going they would’ve made him jump the shark in someway, like adding a baby to the mix, or having a new, whackier neighbor move in.

hey you put stupid ass shows on tv sooner or later there going to be cancelled this isn’t the 90′s were crappy shows are ok to have and wont hurt ratings to have around for season after season.

I wont lie though its hard for people to get and stay to attach to shows these days knowing most only last 1 or two seasons.

Till this day I still wonder why they cancelled seinfield, whoever cancelled that show should been fired, but seems good shows are becoming harder to find, and these networks try to replace them with new shows or in some cases more reality shows “as if there not enough of those already”.

You think these networks would hire people that actually watch tv and know bit about how networks should be run instead of people that just throw whatever tv shows on tv and hope it works.

To me thats like making a car and hoping nothing goes wrong with it “sounds like a toyata thing dont it?” its true all the same, you wouldn’t make a car that didnt work right, why make tv shows that wont even last 1 or 2 seasons.

I don’t completely agree. They may be running out of cliches, but I love the characters. House has the same formula for every episode and it still does well – because of the characters.

First off, Three Rivers? Why? Are you people idiots? I guess so. Or, it doesn’t have enough gay scenes for you? My gosh, that show changed my mind and will be donating if given the chance. Next I am going to hear that you have pulled the plug on The Forgotten. Anything that might help change a viewers perspective on these issues you would think that you would keep on. Hmm? Guess it is to real for you.
Saving Grace, really? After that show won the awards that is has. Foolish.
Ugly Betty….well the sad thing is that you filled it with to much gay scenes and turned a lot of people off by it. The show was to be about “Ugly Betty” and her hardships. Not to mention that it was on a good night when it was on on Thursdays, then you had to move it not once, but twice and spaced the show episodes to far apart that people lose their interest.
Here is a clue, put these specials on during summer break and leave alone all these shows that you keep interrupting: (the series shows and comedies) that are followed by viewers and making you so dang rich.
It is quit weird to me that all the good shows that make a difference are being pulled off the air, while the shows with a bunch of gay scenes seem to stay alive.
To top all this crap off you all keep whining about more money, more money & better benefits while this country is in such financial ruins. Think of your public and not your pocket books so much. Hell, you didn’t even give “Three Rivers” much of a chance and lets look at what you had it up against on the other networks.
As bright and as smart as you people think you are, again think of not just yourselfs.
Maybe you need to go back to the 50′s & 60′s and put TV back on.
Sadly disappointed in CA.

Ulgy Betty is very Good, if the networks would stop putting in these sport specials and sports programs to delay the show maybe people would stay focus. This seems to happen on all the networks we have these sports speicals like women don’t watch TV only men. Women are important to.

I think the next ones to go are Parenthood, the forgotten, and The Deep End.

Please have the writers do something drastic with Private Practice and Brothers & Sisters. At the beginning I thought these shows were entertaining. Now they are annoying and always predictable. Every damn episode of Brothers & Sisters has them fighting at a family gathering and I would love to work in the same building as the people on Private Practice because they all get to fool around with each other.
