On Monday, we reported that Corey Hawkins had been cast as the lead for FOX’s 24 reboot series, 24: Legacy. Now, Variety is reporting that Miranda Otto has also been cast in a lead role for the new series.
Original 24 star Kiefer Sutherland has stated that he is not involved with the new show.
In the reboot, Otto has been cast as Rebecca Ingram, the former head of the CTU (counter-terrorism unit) who “is struggling with second thoughts about having left the counterterrorism agency.” Hawkins will play Eric Carter, a military hero who returns to the U.S. and ends up asking the CTU for help in stopping a large-scale terrorist attack.
So far, FOX has only ordered a pilot for 24: Legacy.
What do you think? Are you a 24 fan? How do you feel about the casting? Will you watch the reboot?
We want 24 episode on Fox
Can people please get over the fact that Keifer just doesn’t want to do it – It’s as simple as that. To be honest how many series of 24 landed in a (enjoyable) rut because of fear of doing anything different – quite a few. The concept is so good having a different cast each year like American Horror Story is something we should embrace. For those wanting 24hrs of Keifer two words -Box Sets
Bad idea that is outrageous fans was upset absolutely not we cannot do that because that is the problem please we want keifer Sutherland back right NOW
Miranda Otto had an amazing run on Homeland as Allison Carr. I’m so excited to see her back in the spy world and having the actress cast as the female lead should fit her well.
