I was really astonished that Eastwick was being cancelled. I couldn’t understand why anyone would not love this show. The cast was fantastic. the writers were creative. I thought it was even better than charmed (and it was great) I really hope that someone gives consideration as to airing this program, if not on wsoc, but even on another channel. I’m sure it would have a lot of followers.

It pisses me off that they would scrap Eastwick, even with all their stupid timeslot changes i still managed to watch every episode, & now were all left hanging with no closure? Screw ABC, they obviously don’t care about us, so i’m done with this station! CBS seems to be the only functioning station unless you got to HBO.

I am getting sick of ABC in general. It seems to me that every decent show that comes on they do not give you a good chance of being able to watch it. They constantly switch times and days. I love the Forgotten, Eli Stone, and many more that they have not given a fair chance but yet they keep Wipe Out – give me a freakin break. Learn ABC please or you network is going to go down the tubes. People are losing faith in your network!!

I’m so tired of getting hooked on a show and then it is gone. ABC does not give shows a chance. seems like when they want the show off they change the day and time. They gave Private Practice a chance and lets face it , it was a slow and stupid show at the begining. If they remove a show like castle without giving a good time slot that is there lost.

I remember being a fan of different ABC shows like Pushing Daisies, Notes from the Underbelly, and Hank (which most people didn’t like). None of those shows are around anymore. I watched the first two when mostly all I got was just sound. I’d watch V or FlashFoward if they were on at a good time. Shark Tank wasn’t that bad, but it’s nothing worth missing. Castle is awesome and ABC can’t do to Nathan Fillion what FOX has done to him twice. Maybe ABC is too much like FOX. A CBS approach might be the best. Quit changing the lineup so much and keep things where they belong for as long as you air them. We don’t like timesolt changes and hituses for as long as we have them. Just keep thing consistant and there won’t be any trouble with viewers. You don’t want to make people stop watching your network entirely.

I am just so annoyed at ABC, I am sick and tired of them green lighting 15 new shows each season and then cut all but 2. If you would just green light a handful and promote it people may watch. You split our focus b/w too many shows and then you put the freshman shows on hiatus for a few weeks and we don’t realize they are back on until it is too late! Get a clue ABC…I want Eastwick back, it has great potential to be the next Charmed and Black Magic Desperate Housewives (which I hate by the way). I now refuse to watch any new shows on ABC I am sick of getting involved only to have it yanked off the air.

What does it take to get you to understand???????????? We LOVE Eastwick!!!!! If you would air it every week and advertise that it will ACTUALLY be on, people would watch faithfully. The fact is the publicity keeps coming out that it has been cancelled and so when the show took a hiatus people thought there wouldn’t be anymore episodes. Now ABC has screwed us again, by giving a little taste and taking it away. ABC’s loyalty to it’s viewers is even worse than NBC. If you can’t bring back Eastwick, I’m going to devote my viewship to CBS, TNT & USA. I know many more people who like Eastwick much better than Ugly Betty and most like it better than almost any of the shows that came out in the fall.

the only reason any long runnng shows on ABC are still popular is fan dedication. they have screwed lost fans time and again with taking it on and off the air, and having people lose interest in it. they did the same with desperate housewives, and eastwick. you cant take a show off for months and expect people to remember it. its the worst network. They put good shows on, you get attached, and then they are canceled. and not to play out a season??? why, so they can put on conveyor belt dating? or, who wants to date my ex boyfriend?
cable is picking up all the castoffs, they are wising up!

I can’t believe Eastwick is canceled!!!! What is the network thinking? Finally there was a show that wasn’t a CSI, or a cop show and it gets canceled. ABC has cancelled 2 shows that I just loved, including Dirty Sexy Money which was also different. Not everyone likes reality shows, never watched them, never will. I just don’t know what the execs are thinking canceling Great shows like these. Eastwick was funny, romantic, suspenceful and had great actors and fabulous acting. Its no wonder people choose to watch cable instead of the big 3 networks, at least cable gives their shows a chance!!!

This is getting ridiculous with ABC and their tirade on quick cancellations… Just recently they cancelled a favorite “The Unusual’s” and now “Eastwick”…!!!!! This is the first time I have ever voiced my opinion on a cancellation of a show but in this case I am extremely ticked at the cancelled the show that I happen to love!… The problem with these networks is that they don’t give the show’s a chance to evolve. It’s not easy grasping a new show and trying to get involved with out the networks just pulling them right from under your feet and the nerve of them to not evan bother to let us, “the viewers” know. I would appreciate the opportunity to be able to put in my protest and try to save a show that is worth keeping around. I certainly was attracted to the show and it’s cast. It was fun, interesting and intriguing. I am a fan of the movie “The Witches of Eastwick” from which it originated from and while initially I thought that I may not be able to get in to it, I truly fell in love with the show and all of it’s character’s and it’s fellow portrayers’. If there is a chance to get this show back or like they did with the show “Southland” wherein another network picked it up as they did with “Medium” I would love that… And damn ABC for not allowing the fans to get into full Loyalty power mode.

I am very disappointed in ABC’s decision to cancel Eastwick. It is one of the few shows that is truly entertaining. I am disgusted beyond words with all this ‘reality TV’ nonsense that requires no talent, no plot and rewards people for being absolute idiots. All reality television has done is bring more low-life attention seekers to the surface and they continue to be rewarded for it. Examples of why it should not be considered entertainment would be the Heene’s of Colorado and the Salahi’s in DC. Please reconsider cancelling this show. Each time an episode airs, my family watches and cannot believe that the hour passes so quickly. We are always eager to see the next show. These are shows that I think can be watched multiple times and you’ll see something you didn’t notice before.

Canceling Eastwick? Really? It was bad enough when Dirty Sexy Money went away. I think that ABC needs to pay attention to good tv. How about canceling some of the other time hogs like Grey’s Anatomy, which in my opinion flatlined seasons ago. This is why I have been a loyal NBC girl, with the exception of Cougar Town and The Middle.

October Road, Life on Mars, Dirty Sexy Money and what’s next?!!! Because The Forgotten and Flash Forward’s writers and actors have done quality work in putting together an intricate story line with characters featuring depth and appeal I am sure their future is in jeopardy. Unbelieveable that ABC does not recognize shows with true shelflife. Here is a bulletin ABC… Neilsen ratings do not make a show successful… belief by the network does. Someone at ABC needs to get passionate about programming… man up, grow a pair and stand up for the quality that is slipping through their sand filled hands. I LOVE Eastwick !!!!! If you cancel that show before it has a chance to make it’s mark… you might as well pull the plug on the whole network. Let the janitor turn off the lights when he walks out the door for the last time. Every network wants the big ratings so they can charge more for the commercial time. What these over paid dim wits, that run the networks, never seem to get, is that a very large portion of the viewing public has at least two DVRs … AND nobody is watching commercials anymore. So the advertisers are getting screwed times two. Paying a high price for the commercial to air and no one is watching it. NBC keeps pickin’ such losers like… BIG LOSERS… Gee’s how sick do you have to be to sit around watching people suffer through so much pain to lose 10 lbs. Major barf. That’s really SAD to “think” that people get off watching people suffer like that. If that’s what gets people off … then bring back the Lion’s vs. Christian’s show live from the Coliseum in Rome. As for CBS… there’s nothing amazing about the AMAZING RACE… it reminds me of the Max Sennett’s Crazy Races shorts that use to run at the Saturday matinee’s in the early 50s. Cancellations should be handed down late in January of the following year. That gives everybody a chance to make the mark in the ratings book. Showing a show for two times and canceling it is so unfair. Even though there have been some really bad show that have aired only once and be gone by the next week. But who knows… maybe it might have gotten an audiance “IF” given a chance. I mean if people will watch really bad shows like AMAZING RACE and BIG LOSER… Maybe those other bad shows might have been able to fine “someone???” to watch it.

I really enjoyed Eastwick. I think the show is quite funny. I think it would have done better in a different time slot though. I miss “Life on Mars” the most. That was an awesome show. I guess both of these will be One Season wonders that I have to order on DVD now. I like Castle as well and just watched it last night. Cougartown is really dumb if you ask me and I am a forty years old. Even if I was single, the character is not believable. This is why most of what I watch is on NBC or CBS. They seem to hang onto shows a little longer. Hopefully another Channel picks it up, but we will see. I think Eastwick would do better on TNT. Although they are talking about cancelling “Saving Grace” which is also a wonderful show.

I love Castle (great characters), Eastwick (different, fun), Flashforward (can’t wait to see it every week), the forgotten, Modern Family (hilarious), the Middle and Ugly Betty. Hank is terrible. Cougartown is stupid. Would not notice if it were to disappear even though I love Courtney. Remember, this is the network that cancelled Eli Stone, October Road, Dirty Sexy Money, Samantha Who and Pushing Daisies. And didnt they cancel Jericho too?? Would love to see ANY of those come back.

I am on the fence with ‘The Forgotten’, it has good bones but not the mass appeal, i.e it requires too much thought on the part of the audience, probably another example of a good show going down the Swanee at some point, regrettably… actually I think it’s the wrong vehicle for Christian Slater anyway, he needs to be in a non-ensemble cast…..

Castle is a good example of a guilty pleasure show, I think it should have an earlier time slot, the 2nd season story lines have actually been more intriguing than season 1, it would be a shame to lose it, the characters are starting to grow on me….

Love Castle and the Forgotten. I hate getting hooked on network shows since the shows aren’t given enough time for viewers to find them and enjoy them. I was brokenhearted when they cancelled Chuck. In fact, I began watching shows on other channels and found them to be as good and I didn’t have to worry about them being cancelled after a couple of months. Like The Closer, Burn Notice, Psych, Monk (which is ending), In Plain Sight and feel confident they will be around for a while.

Castle is charming and witty — it’s a keeper, but it needs a better lead-in than DWTS, which is not really the same kind of audience as Castle (which is why Castle’s ratings there aren’t what they should be). All four of the uncertain shows mentioned above, however, are duds. There are simply too many pedestrian law, ‘reality,’ medical, and sitcom shows on right now, and the ones that stand out (Damages, The Good Wife, The Closer, the three CSIs, House, Grey’s Anatomy) do so because they’re different: they have strong, compelling central characters, damned fine writing, and an interesting twist. The four uncertains referenced above have none of that: they’re pale imitations of their genres. ABC should dump those dinosaurs and bring back Defying Gravity instead. It’s the kind of drama that TNT now specializes and glories in, and ABC severely underestimated it (not to mention deliberately put it into a loser spot over the summer, intentionally guaranteeing its failure there). Moreover, it’s still playing in Canada and the UK — and online, where some have already seen the last 5 episodes of season 1 — and my, my, how episodes 12 and 13 blew us all away!!! The suspense has been building since episodes 8 and 9, and I can guarantee you that nobody who saw only the pilot could have guessed where this was going. Dynamite!!! And yet, those dopes up at ABC have held back those last 5 episodes in the U.S. while letting the production crew in Vancouver tear down the sets (ABC may claim that doesn’t mean cancellation, but it’s a pretty good imitation of it; what it really means is that ABC lied outright: it’s done with the show and never wanted to bring back Defying Gravity, so it had no intention of giving the show a decent chance to build an audience. Too bad it wasn’t picked up by a cable network like HBO, where it would have gotten ample opportunity and probably much better promotion, too). But then, the programming execs at ABC are twits, so what else can one expect …

The Forgotten is a good show! It’s a mystery being solved each week, but the caring of the volunteer team and the police coordinator is uplifting without being sappy. Don’t we need more shows that portray people as caring instead of sarcastic, jaded, dictatorial, violent or stupid (which is the majority of shows on TV today)? Give them a chance to hone the characters a bit – and better promotions of the show – and it could be a real winner.

Please renew The Forgotten. It has depth and heart to the crime solving, and a solid acting cast. Castle is a good show with charming characters, and intrigue. How about pairing The Forgotten and Castle together on the same night? That would be great.

Agree with the Tivo comments. Who watches anything ‘live’ anymore? We watch when it’s convenient for us. ABC keeps cancelling shows just as we get into them and are really enjoying them. It’s almost to the point where we tape the first 4-5 episodes of a new show and then check to see if it’s been cancelled so we don’t waste our time and can just delete them!

I dont think any of them should be saved of the 4 truthfully.

To me:
The Forgotten – too much like CBS’s Cold Case. I like Slater but wish he would try something outside his norm. When he guest starred in My Name is Earl, he was funny. I would of liked to see him do a sitcom and give his acting skills some room to shine.

Eastwick – without Nicholson as the devil, whats the point?

Hank – Kelsey Grammer left Frasier because he was tired of doing the same character after doing it for 20 years. This show feels like Frasier Married…with Children. He acts just like Frasier, this premise that these wealthy people lose their money and move to their old hometown in Virginia…its dumb and deserves to be canceled. In these economic hard times for most, to watch a show about people losing their uber riches to move into a nice house and be well off is kind of a kick in the groin. Especially when the whining is the typical self obsessed daughter whining about their not being any good coffee in the town. And the concept that this is Grammar’s hometown is ridiculous as he seems to have no connection with anyone in the town from his past and is too snobby to adapt to his 5 bedroom home in a well off Virginia town. yeah…we empathize.

Sharks Tank – They seem to always say no. and if they do say yes, its always for a lot more than the person originally wanted to give. They dont seem to say much and when they do its simply “pass”. Any wonder most americans are passing on the show?

The returning shows:

Castle – Its the curse of Nathan Fillion. Firefly was great. Drive was great. Castle is great. that means canceled.

Ugly Betty – as is the case with most shows that are based on a goofy concept…once the concept gets old, so does the show and the viewers move on.

I think networks should try and commit to 13 from the start. In this day Tivo and DVR, people are not watching shows on the night and time but are still watching. and in this era of TV on DVD, if they do get canceled they can still make money off the dvd sales.

These networks struggle to think of things to put on, they dont try anything too risky or if they do(like Eli Stone of Pushing Daisies) they try it as mid-season replacements, and cancel after 1 or 2 seasons because it isnt getting 16 million viewers per episode.

Dear ABC, please keep The Forgotten!! It is a great show, and the storylines keeps me intrigued to the end.
ABC, you need more variety with shows who have potential. There is too much reality.

Since Pushing Daisies, The Unusuals and Surviving Surburbia were cancelled, i’ve lost all hope in ABC. Castle, Eastwick, Shark Tank and FlashFoward are introduced, hoped restored. Castle, Eastwick and Shark Tank on chopping board, hope wanes. ABC are real annoying at times like this. Their cancellations are always higher than FOX, NBC and CBS combined. I have signed petitions for all these shows (including the three cancelled last year) to save them. ABC has to stop

i only like Eastwick because the witches are really hot. especially Rebecca Rojim-mn

Shark Tank is Dragon’s Den US style, and it’s better.
Castle just plain rocks.

In regards to Ray’s comments, I’m not sure where you are getting your information on cancelled series. Like the admin said, its not cancelled. Rather its just off the schedule, ABC let it run all but its last episode (though I read that the “last” episode in Canada was really just an extra episode.) The series is produced in Canada for both Canadian and U.S. and other foreign markets, therefore its continued existence will only partially depend on ABC’s use of that series. Additionally, this is another “cheaper” series for ABC than many others, so that as well will count in ABC’s decision whether or not to bring it back.

Wait until ABC announces their mid-season and summer replacement series like Wipeout and such and we’ll see then if its truly cancelled or not. But just because a show is no longer on the schedule doesn’t mean its cancelled.

“Hey” ABC I don’t know how you get your rating stats if its shows watched at the time they air I hate to inform you but A lot of us have these thing’s called Tivo and DVR”s and may not watch a show on Wed til Sat. so give them a chance !!!!!

Please, please, please do not cancel Castle. ABC has some real stinkers in a couple of real new ones but Castle & The Forgotten are excellent intelligent shows. The acting, the cast and the story lines are great. Please give these show a chance!!!!!!!!

I’m Pretty sure this will be Ugly Betty’s last season…
ABC isn’t as enthusiastic about it as they were in previous years..
Also, Betty shows no growth and she’s just a biytchy, nerdy girl imo..

Ugly Betty is worth saving and I am encouraged that it at least has a full season order. I’m not sure what their expectations are for it on Fridays, but its numbers which looked poor on Thursdays last year will hopefully look better on Fridays, so I’m rooting for it to at least retain its current audience size. Of course, Medium will probably still top the hour but at least Betty offers a more family-friendly alternative which may work.

I expect Eastwick to be gone and Lost to go at 10pm Wednesdays in the spring so that the comedy block (or at least three quarters of it) can remain where they are. If Hank continues to tumble, I wonder what they will put there. I bet they wish they had kept Samantha Who? around now, because it would have made an exellent fourth piece to the lineup and pairing it with the others may have rehabilitated its numbers. Other than Scrubs and Better Off Ted, does ABC have any comedies on the docket for midseason? Those two won’t go into the Wednesday block because they will continue to be paired together, and I think ABC s going to be patient with The Middle and give it time to find its footing.

But yeah, Eastwick and The Forgotten have been topped by Jay Leno a couple of times, and considering the pathetic state of his numbers by the standards of any network other than NBC, that’s not a good thing. So I think they will disappear soon.

Oh, please, ABC, do not cancel Castle. It is so clever. The cast is wonderful – especially Nathan Fillion and Susan Sullivan. They each have perfect delivery. This is the only show I watch Monday evening so hoping it remains on the schedule.

Oh sure… I start getting into Castle and Shark Tank… and now they are in danger. And where in the heck is Better Off Ted? It was picked up, but it hasn’t been on yet. I figure that Women 25-49 MUST be ABC’s demos, because they are threathening to leave this 39-year-old male out in the cold.

As someone who works in the television biz, these networks HAVE to get some guts and learn to stick with shows for an entire season or two before they expect a hit. I know that its been said before, but this “give it a few episodes and see if it catches fire” attitude does NOT produce hits. Where would Cheers and Seinfeld be today? The nets say they want franchise players, but they aren’t willing to invest a little bit of time and risk in them to develop them.

Save Shark Tank!!!!! I hope it at least returns mid-season or summer 2010. It’s SUCH a good show. Am I wrong, or did it perform very well this summer? Sure, it can’t compete against fall fare, but it’s cheap to make (thus, easily profitable, even with lower ratings).
