Almost Human: Cancelled by FOX, No Season Two

Almost Human canceled or season twoFOX has lowered the ax on Almost Human. The show has been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.

Taking place in the future, Almost Human follows the partnership of a distrustful cop (Karl Urban) and an android capable of emotion (Michael Ealy). The cast also includes Minka Kelly, Mackenzie Crook, Michael Irby, and Lili Taylor.

The series started strongly in the ratings but the numbers declined over the course of the season. The season finale hit a series low with a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.6 million total viewers.

Almost Human was reportedly still in the running for a second season until recently. Apparently several of FOX’s new pilots are strong contenders for next season so network execs have decided to let Almost Human go.

What do you think? Did you like this series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Fox canceled Firefly and now they’ve cancelled Almost Human. Sigh. Thank you, Fox, for at least broadcasting one season. I don’t own a television so I watched on line. Please bring back Almost Human.

Almost Human is one of the few thought provoking shows on FOX, Resist the temptation to entertain zombies. Bring the series back!

I have recently just watch Almost Human in the UK and have been really enjoying the series and am disappointed to find that after watching the last episode that FOX have cancelled the series. It seems to be typical that a TV network will not give a good Sci-Fi show a chance to build itself after creating what is an excellent series just because Viewing figures are not as high as they could wish for. In the end another show with potential gets dropped because of execs who are too interested in profit rather than decent television.

Almost Human was just getting interesting! The season finale was like a teaser for the second season – so disappointed they cancelled it. Silly FOX – they don’t know when they have a good thing.

Its the future! Won’t be here to live it and it was nice to glimpse the future. Good story line and better than some of the realty shows.

Another great show cancelled. Don’t they track how many homes Tivo/DVR this show. I don’t get home till late and can’t watch shows the same night they are aired. How stupid these ‘network execs’ are.

I for one have been looking and watching for the second season. The biggest reason for the weaker ratings was the football play offs that were on the same night it was aired in WI. ALL the tv stations in the Green Bay Area are all about the Packers. It gets soooo, disgusting listening to it. All 3 stations have some sort of local Packer Program where the players appear on the show. Please Fox put Almost Human back on for another season!!

I’m genuinely dismayed and annoyed that this fantastic show has been cancelled.

The acting, scripting and production is/was of a FAR superior quality to most of the garbage on these days – especially that delivered by Fox.

This series was cancelled far too soon and shows the networks gutless and short sighted scheduling for what it truly is.

If Fox can sacrifice something of this current delivery quality wit the subsequent future potential of being a genuine science fiction classic, then only low-brow, populist garbage irrespective of any pretensions to a quality threshold seem to be in their pipeline.

    PATHETIC. UTTERLY, TRULY, CONTEMPTUOUSLY PATHETIC.
