Here’s the press release:

New York, January 29, 2013 – H2 has greenlit a second season of AMERICA UNEARTHED. Production on season 2 will begin in the Spring. Scott Wolter will return as host.

AMERICA UNEARTHED premiered in December 2012 and has averaged 824,000 total viewers and 408,000 Adults 25-54, making it the #1 series of all time on H2. And, the recent Friday, January 25 premiere of AMERICA UNEARTHED pulled in 1 million total viewers and 547,000 Adults 25-54, becoming the #1 telecast of all time on the network.

In AMERICA UNEARTHED, forensic geologist Scott Wolter, a real-life Indiana Jones, reveals that the history we all learned in school may not always be the whole story. Across the country, ancient symbols, religious relics and unexplained artifacts suggest that civilizations from around the world have left their mark for us to find today. Wolter not only digs through the surprising burial ground that is America for archaeological secrets, but he also uncovers compelling evidence that pre-dates the official “discovery” of the New World and turns a lot of what we think we know about American history on its head. AMERICA UNEARTHED proves there is a lot we don’t know about our past, and that people have gone to great lengths to cover up these mysteries. New episodes premiere on Friday’s at 10pm ET on H2.

AMERICA UNEARTHED is produced for H2 by Committee Films. Paul Cabana and Brian Meere are Executive Producers for H2.

    Candida Gut?
Really? Was this a test to see is viewers are paying attention. I’m insulted.
She was a “character” on the episode about bone carvings and European remains in Florida.

Interesting season 2 is renewed by January but no word into March on season 4. Wonder if it’s cancelled?

I enjoy the show as a whole; however, his determination that there is a Jesus bloodline through Mary Magdalene is almost blasphemous. Further, his insistence on the position of hands in an “M” sign for Mary Magdalene is ludicrous. The painters, etc. did not live at that time, had no knowledge of exactly what Jesus looked like. He has become almost crazed to find out about the Knights Templar and their “secret” of Jesus and Mary having married and had a child. If there is any bloodline, it would be through his brothers, fathered by Joseph and Mary (Mary being the bloodline). I’m not sure if I will continue to watch this show. He is almost exhibiting traits of a false god.

What do you know no one today truly knows what happened in that era. The church tries to cover up so much even went through great lengths to leave out things in the Bible.

The Indiana Jones of fallacy. Exposed on his own blog for his faulty reasoning. Accepts an award from a white supremacist for advancing white history. “Expert” witness for hire if you’ve got an old rock. No advanced academic credentials. Lost court case for selling a rock he wrote a book about, not being the sort of rock in question.

Why can’t I find Season 2 DVD? When will Season 2 be available to purchase? All I can find are video clips.

Love the premise. But they never follow through . Conclusions are always left for more testing or lack of access to whatever they need to get answers. Losing interest fast. Why not air show after you ha ve conclusive evidence. I hate to be left guessing.

Love this show. But the episode about uncovering the Ark of thr Covenant and the stone of destiny is incomplete. The Stone of Destiny supposedly rests in England and was last used when Queen Elizabeth was corinated. It is used at every corination so it should be somewhere in the Queen’s possession or that of the British Crown.

The Stone of Kings of Tara, called the Stone of Destiny because it cries out when a rightful king kneels on it, disappeared from Tara. A rumor says the stone taken to England was a fake and the real stone was hidden in Ireland. Again when the stone was stolen from the Throne of Scotland, the rumor is that it was another fake and the real one was hidden. Again when it was stolen from the throne of England it was said to be a fake and the returned stone was another fake. That is four fakes and one real stone. I do not think anyone could possibly unravel this tangled tale at this date.

Hey! Whats happening with the show?? I’ve been watching for two seasons now and keep rewatching past episodes on Comcast. Just tonight I noticed that there is no longer a listing for America Unearthed in “TV Shows” on Comcast…I sure hope the show isnt going away!!
