America’s Next Top Model ended its run on CW with its season 22 finale in December. The cancellation of the series was a surprise for its fans. There is more known about the decision to cancellation now.
Mark Pedowitz from CW spoke about the quick cancellation of the reality series at the Winter TCA’s over the weekend, and the cancellation was not planned to happen at all.
According to TV Guide, Pedowitz revealed that the decision to cancel the series was made after a talk with Tyra Banks. He said:
“I wanted Tyra to tweet it out and get it out there for the fans. America’s Next Top Model was an iconic show. It kept the lights on for many, many years in many, many forms.”
Fans will see more of America’s Next Top Model on CW. According to TV Line, Pedowitz mentioned that a retrospective special is in the works.
