Arrested Development: Hurwitz Wants Movie Shot & Released This Year

Arrested DevelopmentBelieve it or not, the Arrested Development movie may still happen. It looked like the project was picking up steam in late 2008. Series creator had supposedly been a greenlight and many in the cast said that they would take part. There has been little trickles of news here and there over the last two years but very real movement.

Now, Hurwitz says, “We’ve started that process and it is our sincere hope to shoot it this year and get it out this year.”

He continued, “That’s what we’re hoping… but a lot of things have to fall into place for that to happen… I don’t like to toy with the affections of our fans. They’ve been so supportive and we’re so grateful, so I kind of hate to answer the question until I can say, ‘Yep, we’ve shot it, it opens next week.’ Otherwise it feels like we’re toying with people and we do not mean to do that. It has just taken a while to get it going.”

Put us out of our misery and make the movie…will ya???? Out of ALL time this is one of the three best shows that have been on TV in North America! This would come second to Soap (after all…it paved the way for this show) and the third would be Corner Gas from Canada.

please make a movie…i am dying waiting. I absolutely love this show above all movies, or series that are out there. They should have never stopped. Nothing tops arrested development!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my all-time favorite shows. Definitely paved the way for shows like Modern Family. Probably one of the reasons I love Modern Family so much is because it’s like a bastardized version of Arrested Development. Truly a shame that it was cancelled, but it would have been hard to keep it going at such a ridiculously high level, and to keep all the actors on board. Michael Cera of all people would have apparently been the toughest to retain!

Probably one of the top five shows ever. It was so well done and a total shame when it was canceled. Fox moved their time slot around way too much. Please get this movie going!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! And, uh, yes. If they’re talking about it AGAIN, that raises hope that it’s going to happen. For real. Maybe.
