It wasn’t a great start for the new series but Awake still outperformed the premieres of (essentially-cancelled) The Firm, and (cancelled) The Playboy Club, and Prime Suspect. If the show can stay at this level of ratings, it’s got a very good chance of being renewed for a second season. It’s amazing how poor a show’s ratings can be on NBC and still be one of the best rated shows on the network.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you like the Awake TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

This show is so underrated, i really hope it comes back for a new season because i love it. A detective show with alternate realities/dimensions..doesn’t get any better than that.

  2. Rose says

Best show ever! Great writing talent. You need to renew this show, it was nice to have something to watch with some intelligence.

  3. Sally bufford says

Great new show. At first it was hard to follow but it got better and better. Would just hate to see it cancelled.

  4. Carol Rosenfeld says

This has been a well written and very original show. To cancel it is sad. I would think the network would do well to work on more publicity for the show and renew it instead of wasting all the talent in this special show.

  5. Brian.Texas says

Im so upset. Awake is one of the best shows on TV. Even better than Grimm.. NBC is crazt. You let a show like Whitney get a second season? Another network will pick up the show i hope

  6. Thinbasement says

This was one of the best-written shows ever on television. They need to give it another try! I just saw the final episode and was taken to tears.
