It wasn’t a great start for the new series but Awake still outperformed the premieres of (essentially-cancelled) The Firm, and (cancelled) The Playboy Club, and Prime Suspect. If the show can stay at this level of ratings, it’s got a very good chance of being renewed for a second season. It’s amazing how poor a show’s ratings can be on NBC and still be one of the best rated shows on the network.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

I do not watch much television but Awake was one show I never missed. The writing was phenomenal and the storyline kept me on the edge of my seat week after week. Some nights it kept me awake, no pun intended, as I would re watch the episode in my head trying to figure it all out.

This show really made me think and pay attention, as opposed to the other 95% of the shows on television that are just recycled versions of prior shows. The cast was amazing and I am so surprised more people did not find the intensity and complexity of the storyline fascinating.

I am very disappointed that Awake was canceled, but I thank everyone involved for giving us viewers who do not want the same vanilla flavored shows some exciting and fascinating content which made me thoroughly entertained.

Please don’t cancel this show. It has an interesting story line and I was looking forward to seeing where it would lead next year.

Awake was one of the better shows on TV this year. It is extremely frustrating that the networks keep cancelling shows that are as good as this.

Please keep awake alive! Its a great story and its fan base will grow over tome. Im sure of it. Issacs plays a great lead role.

I don’t understand the ending… was he just dreaming/sleepwalking the whole time? Was the whole series except for that last scene all in his head? Argh. And what the heck were they going to do with a second season? Just let him keep being crazy and hiding it from his family? Heh.

exactly what I was afraid of; put together a smart, well written and acted series that requires a bit of thinking and it will be gone in one season. Put some mindless, or at least mind numbing, LCD [lowest common denominator] series and it runs a dozen years… I give up.

Please renew Awake. The whole family loves it and really enjoys the complex storyline. The characters are great and the balance between family and police work is engaging.
It is so refreshing to see an interesting “cop” show that is not all about the gore and how vile the criminals are.
