Though she appeared in the 2003 reunion movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding, it’s been 10 years since Pamela Anderson left the Baywatch TV series as a series regular. The series focused on a group of very attractive actors playing very attractive lifeguards and Anderson’s C.J. Parker was one of the series’ most recognizable figures. A big-screen version of the series (which ended in 2001) has been in the works for some time and Anderson will supposedly have a cameo (Jessica Simpson will play C.J.). Though the film seems to be delayed, Anderson doesn’t have a problem heading back to the beach on her own.
Anderson recently thrilled Los Angeles-based fans by slipping into her trademark Baywatch red swimsuit one more time. Onlookers at a Malibu beach could see the 39-year-old actress running up and down the beach and frolicking in the surf as CJ as if a single day hadn’t passed. Anderson first played the hot lifeguard in 1992 at the age of 25 but, 14 years later, it was just like old times.
Anderson is reprising her role as CJ as part of an upcoming DirecTV commercial — the same line of spots that has resurrected Star Trek’s Captain Kirk and characters from Twister, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Major League, and Back to the Future. No word on when the spot will air but Anderson has reportedly committed to starring in new series by Baywatch producers entitled (appropriately enough) Malibu. Stay tuned!
