Bitten is preparing for its third and final season on SyFy, but both the star of the series and the showrunner are hopeful that somehow the series will be saved. Those involved want a fourth season, but the end of season three will provide closure for fans of the series.
Daegan Fryklind spoke about the end of the series with Variety. She said:
“We knew in advance where the season was gonna go in terms of our big push towards 310, but I was aware of the fact that this was going to be the final season of this incarnation of the show, at least, before I wrote 310. So we were able to bring it towards a season and a series finale that is hopefully cathartic and satisfying for our viewers, but it also does leave room for an afterlife, should there be an afterlife. I’m a brat that way, I don’t like to say goodbye… if there’s a movie future or whatever it may be. We have such an incredible fanbase and they are reacting to this in a really exciting way, in that they’re not super thrilled about it being the final season, so it’s really a wonderful reaction to see for us. They’ve been so supportive of the show and so in love with these characters, originating from the books and then where we’ve gone with them in the show — they’re not ready to say goodbye to this world and these characters yet, so we’ll see.”
Laura Vandervoort, the star of the series, also spoke about the fan reaction to the cancellation of the series by SyFY, and she is also hopeful that the series will return. She said:
“I really believe that this third season is our best season yet; all of the actors are comfortable within our characters and the storylines have been getting so much more intriguing and entertaining and a lot of fun to play. We’ve amassed a great fanbase, whether they’re fans of the books or jumped onto the show and then they read the books, and I know us as a group – our cast, our crew – really acknowledge and appreciate that fanbase and that support. I know they’ve created a campaign to bring the show back, I think it’s #HowlForMore, and just seeing that is a really nice feeling, to know that we’re appreciated as we appreciate them. There’s been times – and I’ve been on these shows – where you think it’s done. One day on ‘V’ we heard we were done, the next day we were back, so you never know. If there was an opportunity, we’d be grateful.”

This was A great show I don’t need the book to know that I’m in love with this show. I turn my sister on to this show and she has been working her way up from season one. Now she love’s it. Season three was the best season yet. And SYFY really Omg there’s about three good shows at best and Bitten is clearly one of them. Here’s what I say SYFY us fan’s of the show are already bitten don’t take are pack from us please.
DON”T CANCEL THIS SHOW PLEASE!! I love this show. Elena and Clay are my favorites! I’d hate to see this show taken off the air just as it’s gaining momentum. The characters are developing in so many ways and I’d love to see it picked up by Netflix or another station in SyFy doesn’t want it. There are so many more stories that could be told, and I’d love to see what happens down the road with Elena ****SPOILER being the Alpha*******, having kids with Clay (okay that’s waaay down the road.) I also want to see how Nick, Clay,… Read more »
I LOVE, LOVE THIS SHOW, PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL
The Women of The Otherworld books particularly the ones focusing on Elena are my favourite books to date. Upon hearing that there is in fact a series based on the books I was both ecstatic and devastated to find it had been cancelled after just 3 seasons!
Please bring it back again and maybe work on advertising and getting the series out far and wide as you could be missing out on fans who don’t even know it exists!
I have faithfully waited with anticipation for each and every episode. To date, I haven’t missed a one. The cast has done an amazing job bringing this story to life. I truly hate to see this series end. Please renew it for a few more seasons!
My husband and I love this show ! We watch every week! Please don’t cancel it !!!!
Great tv show . I wish it would continue because the cast has done so well in making me love each character they have introduced. The bad and the good guys. I enjoyed Elena Michales and Clay’s characters because their chemistry was just off the chart. Their interactions with the other characters were also great. Each season the show just got better and better. Each story for each season were so unique that I couldn’t wait for the next chapter to come.
I want this show to continue, its a good showing one of the few I consider watching.
