Blue Bloods: Season Four Ratings

bluebloods32This TV series has managed to survive on Friday nights on CBS but the ratings have been coming down each year. Will Blue Bloods’ numbers be strong enough for the show to be renewed for season five or could it be in danger of being cancelled? We shall see.

Another police procedural series, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

3/13 update: This show has been renewed for the 2014-15 season by CBS.

Final season averages: 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.52 million total viewers.

For comparisons: The third season of Blue Bloods averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.83 million total viewers.

Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you still like the Blue Bloods TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fifth season?

Quality intelligent shows like Blue Bloods are obviously in high demand. It’s the only way cable can survive. Don’t dummy down to another sitcom when BB is a part of enriching so many people’s lives!

Please renew Blue Bloods. I never miss a show and is one show we can watch together as a family.

Anyone know the name of the gorgeous blonde bike messenger Mia??

One of only 4 shows I watch. Cancel it for what, another mindless sitcom??

Do not take Blood Blood off. It’s one of four television shows I enjoy watching. It’s a great family show. Most TV programs are either too offensive with their stupid humor or are totally full of SEX that a family cannot watch together. I love the family meal after church.

Please don’t cancel Blue Bloods. It’s a really great show with family values and a committment to public service whatever the cost. I love the family dinner each week although it seems that they are shortening it. The writing and acting are supurb. I love it, please keep it on the air

Please keep Blue Bloods on….it’s a Friday night staple for us and is a really really good show. Love the family banter at the dinner table. Great plots – good family values – wonderful acting. It’s a breath of fresh air among all the reality and trash shows that abound. PLEASE PLEASE KEEP IT ON THE AIR! ! !

I have to agree that Blue Bloods is by far the best show on tv. I can’t tolerate those meaningless reality shows and the sitcoms that really aren’t funny and are not appropriate for the whole family. Putting them on Friday nights is really a challenge for any show to keep up its ratings.

I love Blue Bloods!! Def want it to stay. The family dynamic is what keeps me tuned in and is sorely lacking in other shows today.

please don’t cancel Blue Bloods. It’s the onely show on tv without having a dysfunctional family, shows good family values, and is a good influence on our young people. they can see a better way of life and maybe want to emulate it or at least want to devote their life to something to serve their community in a positive way.

Please keep Blue Bloods on for a fifth season. It is by far my most favorite program that is on right now. The acting is wonderful and the story lines are very engaging. Ratings may come down but that’s because Friday night is when the younger crowd go out, but the older crowd (middle aged) stay home with kids or what not and watch tv. I’ll be very sad if you cancel this program

I really enjoy blueblood’s, A great family movie, It is really something to whole family
can sit down and watch, with out having to be careful of what the kids see or hear.
At the end is really great , when they sit down for the family meal and explain
why things happen the way it did, and the children understand.
Thank You
