Bones: FOX TV Series Renewed for Season Seven

BonesActors and others who are directly involved with TV shows often get pretty cagey when it comes to admitting if a series has been cancelled or not. Conversely, they’re often very quick to announce a renewal. Bones star David Boreanaz would fall under the latter category. There’s been no news from FOX but he just tweeted that “Season 7 is a go for Bones.”

From a ratings standpoint, the future of the FOX TV series has never been in question. It’s actually doing a bit better this season than it did last season. Last year it averaged a 2.88 in the 18-49 demo and 10.01 million viewers. So far, season six is averaging a 3.0 rating and 10.04 million. It’s a small increase but traditionally older shows don’t see their ratings rise. Bones is currently the fifth highest rated scripted series on the network.

Like House, Bones has been caught up in contract negotiations over licensing and production fees. Now, according to Boreanaz and inside sources, it appears a deal has been reached for season seven.

An official announcement for FOX is expected soon. There’s also word that things look good for The Finder spin-off.

You can keep an eye on the status of other FOX shows by bookmarking and watching our renewed or cancelled list. The network’s upfront presentation will be made on Monday, May 16th, and the list will be continually updated as new information’s made available.

What do you think? Are you glad that Bones will be back for season seven? How long would you realistically like to see the series continue?

Bones is one of the BEST shows on TV!! please bring it back and please let people know when it will be back on the air. There are too few shows of this caliber. I don’t think theFinder can even begin to compare.

I am so glad it has been renewed for a 7th season. My entire family and I (6 people) have seen every episode. We love it! It makes sense for Booth and Brennan to get together. We’ve been getting sick of everything getting in the way of the inevitable.

You could do an episode of showing graphic pictures of Osama bin Laden and his bones and everything until people get their fill of it. All the CSI, NCSI type shows should all do it until people puke. Then maybe everybody will finally be satisfied. Go for it.

Bones and Booth can get together. You don’t have to show the gratutious sex. We know how it’s done. The show can go on foresver, I love it.

I love Bones. My favorite shows are Bones and NCIS. The only two I watch.

Thank you Fox (and that is not something I commonly say) for renewing one of the few shows worth the time to watch. The blend of characters is the key; like Cheers and MASH, it is the ensemble that is an important difference for a great show. It is wonderful to watch a program where the science and drama is punctuated with well placed humor. The only show that was lacking was the set up for the spin-off; I have to admit that this was the first ‘Bones’ that fell short for me.

Just because they gave them bones time slot for a week for their teaser show and got the bones cast to make cameos dose not make it a spin off. Its not.

I’d watch a finder spin off
