Last June there was word that a feature film based on Bored to Death, the cancelled TV show, was in the works. While most films like this never end up being made (Veronica Mars, for example), it looks like HBO is still serious about this one.
THR reports that HBO has released this logline: “Jonathan, Ray, and George reunite to fight crime, commit crime, lose their minds and fail at love in a Bored to Death feature-length slapstick adventure.”
Bored to Death creator Jonathan Ames will write and executive produce the project and Sarah Condon and Stephanie Davis (who worked on the show) will also executive produce.
Series star Jason Schwartzman has said that he’d love to make the movie and Ted Danson has said that he would be on board as well.
There hasn’t been any word on exactly when the movie would go into production or be released.
What do you think? Do you think it will happen? Would you pay to see a Bored to Death movie?
