BrainDead will arrive on CBS this upcoming summer, and there is more news about the series now available. TV Insider reported on Thursday that Aaron Tveit, formerly of USA series Graceland, had been cast in the male lead for the series.
Graceland ended its third season on USA in September, and it was announced a few days later that the series was cancelled. There would not be a fourth season. Tveit was star of that series in the role of Mike Warren.
BrainDead will join CBS’ Summer 2016 line-up. With the cancellation of Extant and the end of Under The Dome, CBS had some slots to fill. BrainDead will join Zoo and Big Brother on the network.
TV Insider revealed a bit about Tveit’s character on the series. He will play a character named Gareth, who is “a Republican operative whose wit is only trumped by his pragmatism. The Legislative Director to a top Republican senator, Gareth is smart, hard-working, and ultimately responsible for helping to save the world.”
