Breaking In: FOX Sitcom May Be Saved for Season Two

Breaking In season twoWhat a different a day or two can make. After cancelling Breaking In late on Tuesday night, FOX is reportedly reconsidering the decision.

FOX is in talks with Sony Pictures TV (the show’s studio) to find a way to possibly bring it back for a second season. No decision is expected to be made until after next week’s upfronts.

Breaking In debuted in early April to a healthy 3.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.82 million total viewers. With the exception of the fact that it lost a large percentage of the American Idol lead-in, that looked very good. The following week, the series fell 26% to a 2.6 rating and 7.79 million viewers.

Ratings fell a bit after that but seem to have evened off at a 2.4 rating. It’s the sixth highest-rated scripted series currently on the network and outperforms the network’s other two live-action comedies. Of course, it also has the best lead-in audience on television.

If Breaking In does get a renewal, this will be the second time that the Christian Slater comedy has cheated death. FOX initially passed on the Breaking In pilot last year but execs changed their minds and gave it a greenlight later on.

What do you think? Does Breaking In deserve a second season to prove itself?

There is a couple of other shows that I would like to comment on. That I would really like to see saved. Breaking-in, The Cape, The Event, (Vampire Diaries which or course is not being cancelled) are the only shows my boys, and I have watched together since they became teenagers (as you know they are usally to busy for you at that age) so when these shows come on we stop and watch them TOGETHER, and I would like to thank-you for that. One other show is Chase it is much better than In Plain Sight I enjoy seeing strong and nice, not mean and nasty women in charge, and good at their jobs without being hard, and cold. they are good role models for my girls!

I’m sick of these let’s get thin, let’s get famous, and let’s not forget let’s watch someone else do their job and fight, and argue while doing it. I watch T.V. to forget bout reality! Because of that I feel this is one of the best shows on, but my main reason is that my kids, and I watch it together and there is not to many shows we agree on, so we usally watch things apart in differant rooms. So to me that is saying alot!!

Hey FOX,
Breakout some common sense and keep the show. Breaking in is a fun filled no thinker with loads of laughs. This show barely left the starting line and deserving of another season.

Typical FOX. Why do they ALWAYS cancel good shows? I need to stop watching this network. Too much disappointment. Breaking In is hilarious. It needs to be saved.
