I was into the first season. I liked the edgy comedy and the plot line intriguing. But the show simply lost its way by season two. It seemed like it lost its identity. It became a show that just sort of drifts casually without any high stakes. I asked myself by the middle of the second season, what defines this show? It's like a show that does anything it wants without worrying about what defines it. I think the turning point was Karen jumping in the car at the end of season 1. That just seemed too implausible. Sure, the show worked hard to explore the love between Hank and Karen but she was still determined to stay with Bill. And that's where the show suffered. The show made no effort to explain why she continued to stay with Bill and yet she did. So it seemed like such an irrational decision to bail on her own wedding.
