to me numbers is an important program with children less and less interested in mathematics. Mathematics is the basis of the odds and evens of life. Kids now are so relied on their computers they don’t understand math at all. I have a friend who’s grandchild wants to be a scientist, but does not want to learn math???!!!!! It takes ten kids to figure out how to give change if a computer goes down at the doughnut shop. Trust me, we waited on purpose even getting the manager involved for a $4.90 purchase after giving the server a $10.00 bill. What up!!!! Are you allowed not to take math now in schools, or do they make it purposely intolerable to children that they don’t listen. I WANT TO KNOW. I had a math tutor, but it finally clicked in and i became a stock broker. NUMBERS WAS AND IS A FASCINATING PROGRAM. PLEASE LET IT COME BACK. GREAT ACTORS, GREAT SCRIPTS AND FAMILY PRESENTABLE.

Let’s face it, if the show got the ratings; meaning someone cared enough to tune in, it wouldn’t have been cancelled. A. The only thing those companies care about is ratings. More ratings = more business for advertisements. That’s where they make their money.
B. The minority doesn’t matter. It’s all about the majority. Like becoming President.
C. Every show you listed except 3 rivers was a dunce and a complete failure. Most of them I’ve never even heard of!
D. As redundant as Law and Order is, it sells ratings. And companies like whatever sells ratings. Your other shows didn’t sell, therefore, they didn’t sell ratings.
E. A company makes money by selling off commercial slots to advertisers. Advertisers fight for spots on highly-rated shows because they will get more exposure.

I cannot believe the anount of Reality shows that air on TV right now. Dramas aren’t given a decent chance! Trauma, Eastwick, Raising the Bar, Saving Grace, Friday Night Lights and the Cleaner weren’t given a real shot at development. I have found myself watching less and less of network TV shows. Now my favorite stations are TNT, ABC Family, A&E, USA, and Discovery Channel. ABC, NBC and CBS have disappointed me too many times.

I feel that all these television shows listed have run their course (even if it was only one season). Eastwick never really had a chance due to the fact that it was trying to make a television series out of a movie and there was not much to go on. Defying Gravity I feel was short lived because the premise had little growth to it. It would only stretch the main idea of the show for so long. The main portions of the shows I hardly ever watch so I don’t have a comment on them.

Uhmm. LOST wasn’t cancelled. The producers decided THEMSELVES to end the show aftter the sixth season many years ago. I know it said that, but LOST was included in this “2009 – 2010 canceled TV shows” article. It wasn’r canceled, it was creatively and voluntarily ended. The show is a complete entity, it doesn’t have an abrupt end. That’s all I wanted to say. I just wanted to defend one of the best shows ever produced, IMO.

Raisin the Bar was a great show. It came on at 11 pm which is a little late for working people. I was so disgusted at the way it ended. TNT decided to show the remaining 3 or 4 shows on Christmas Eve and never again….and I was totally miffed because I missed it. I’ve never been able to find those shows anywhere. TNT didn’t give it enough time. They also aired Saving Grace too late in the night. It was a great show. Removing Law and Order and L&O CI have just destroyed NBC’s line up. What is one hour each week for those shows? I am sick of all this reality TV. Give me a good show or movie anytime.

the reason there are soo many reality Shows on television now is that they are extremely cheaper. the sitcoms and series cost so much with the crews and actors, but reality tv stars dont really get paid that much or at all. some people are willing to do anything to get on television, i even saw a show where people actually put up there own money in order to win the grand prize. its called money hungry, each team puts up $10,000 of there own money in order to win the grand prize of $100,000. which is funny because there is like 13 or 14 teams. so the contestant are actually paying for the crews salary also, so the network only has to market the show. its smart if you think about it, unfortunately shows with an actual script suffer, i loved heros, flash forward, defying gravity, and a few other shows. networks have been cutting costs by canceling
shows that had high costs, and replacing them with extremely low cost reality shows. so the people who liked watching shows like flash forward and heros or cold case and numbers suffer with these stupid freaking shows with no plot. and who cares about the Kardashians, really?

I agree with with Eva K! The ONLY decent, & great reality show, is Undercover Boss. Most ARE crap! And cartoons are for kids! Also, changing days of long standing shows usually turns out to be the KISS OF DEATH! CSI: Miami AND NY better not go to that big drama pile in the sky, like Ugly Betty did, with all the changes! REALLY ticks me off when my faves vanish for stupid reasons!

I’m most upset about Eastwick being cancelled. I still can’t believe it. Almost everyone I know watched and loved that show. It had a slow start, and not alot happened in each episode in the beginning (kind of like a soap opera, though the show was not). But it was really picking up it’s pace and it’s inventiveness. I think it would have taken off if ABC would have given it a chance and went ahead with season 2.

I will miss several of the others but Eastwick is the only one that was cancelled right after it started that I will miss. The others that I will miss were on many seasons and they decided to end, everything must end eventually so I’m not as upset about those… Like Monk.

TV is changing show are not the some anymore. TV show were better knight rider, was on J.A.G. , Love Boat, Law&Order, good comedys where on TV. The major network like NBC, CBS, ABC had good show on right now. Now they are loosing there touch because cable network like TVLand, TNT, TBS, FX, SPIKE, USA, Hallmark, ABC Family, Nickelodeon, SyFy all have good show on TV. ABC, CBS, NBC are loosing it’s touch for good TV show.

I though Flashfoward was getting good at the very end. It’s cheesy, but I dare you to give me a credible, decent show that didn’t have a little cheese in it. Better off Ted also was cancelled and that sit-com was hysterical. I’m waiting for both of them to be picked up again but on cable. (Futurama and Family Guy come to mind, TAKE THAT FOX!!!) And Joss Whedon can get back to making Firefly.

i will miss most of them i am so sick of getting into shows then they pull them i know i watch them all so i dont know how they get there ratings maybe they should not put 10 shows all on one night there is saturday where notting is on and sunday and most of the times fridays they just pack the shows durning the week and dont give them a chance they go up against shows that have been on the air for a long time that have a following come on renew some of these shows this is getting old and so am i we should pick and choose not the networks we r the ones paying to watch them

It seems to be a “Catch-22″ for the networks. Everyone is moving to cable/satellite because there are better shows that aren’t cancelled; networks loose money because of this, so they give us inane reality shows because they’re cheaper to produce; most folks don’t like reality shows so these folks start watching more cable/satellite channels. It’s a vicious circle!!! If the networks would just bite the bullet and shell out some money for a couple of really good, actual shows, maybe folks would move back to the networks.

The other thing, too is a lot of folks cannot afford cable/satellite. I’m retired and on a fixed income, these subscriptions have gotten out of hand for me. So the way I watch cable/satellite shows is via Netflix or Hulu on my PC (internet connection is waaaayyy cheaper than cable/satellite), or go directly to the station’s website. So…the more we move to cable and away from network, there’s a whole new group of citizens that are affected.

I am really upset that they have canceled Saving Grace. Have they canceled In Plain Sight? They keep saying how many episodes are left like they have with Saving Grace. Also sad to see that Trauma and Three Rivers did not make the cut. They were decent shows and I liked them very much. Noticed that they did not get a lot of air time for advertising…..perhaps doomed from the start. Networks own fault they did not get the viewership. Also curious if they have canceled Numbers, In Plain Sight, and Bones.

Nobody has to “say” they will watch reality shows. The ratings keep them in place. If you don’t like them, watch something else. All they do is prove to the world that we are the stupidest nation on the planet!
USA, TNT, Bravo, A&E – all have shows worth watching. USA and TNT have Leverage, The Closer, Burn Notice, White Collar, Psych,…some of the new seasons will be starting soon. Look for them.
TNT would have kept Saving Grace, too, but FOX Studio head Emiliano somebody decided the show didn’t make enough money for them so he cancelled it. I keep saying that he’s the one who should have been axed, but, I’m only one tiny viewer against the millions of dollars that Rupert and NewsCorp want to make, so I might as well be baying at the moon…

I am still in shock that they canceled Law and Order after all these years! They called that last episode a “season finale” when in fact it was the SERIES Finale! So wrong!!! I even got into an argument with a friend about it…I insisted they wouldn’t cancel one of the best shows on television…oh, I forgot…they are cancelling most of them…there are some good summer shows on USA and one on TNT, but in general, the networks are too cheap to pay for good scripts and excellent actors. Thank God for “Lie to Me” this summer -and “Castle” which will be returning in the fall, so that’s good. But no more original episodes with Sam Waterston??? Give me a BREAK!!!!

Agreed … Did they ever think that it’s this constant string of reality tv shows that has made the suffering of loss in ratings for the good shows … I’ve been trained to not get into any shows because they get the axe so quickly, so why even bother to start watching them, my tv schedule included: smallville, supernatural, one tree hill, lost, law and order svu, ghost whisperer, house, gossip girl, life unexpected, 90210, and brothers and sisters. It will now only consist of smallville, supernatural, law and order svu, gossip girl, 90210, house, and brothers and sisters because of shows ending (mostly being cancelled … i find now reason to start watching the new shows that they are bringing on … tv networks are making the tv world coming to an end.

@ catherine boehm – Supernatural is still on the air in reruns – I agree that it would be lovely to have new episodes, but some shows were so entertaining that I can watch the reruns and still enjoy them. I still watch Charmed in the mornings…USA has some great summer shows – Royal Pains and Burn Notice began their new seasons last night. Leverage is on TNT, as is the Closer, both to return soon. And I LOVE Lie To Me which returns next week.
I am still seriously upset over the loss of Saving Grace. They are trying to tie up all the loose ends in the next three weeks. This week’s episode was very interesting, considering the comment made by someone who called Grace a drunken harlot (doesn’t that sound kind of like Mary Magdalen?) – Grace was put on trial for all her “sins” and in the end was not only forgiven by God, but given the opportunity to share some of His love with the family of Leon Cooley, another of Earl’s charges.
And, I will admit, there is one returning reality show on Fox that I enjoy, though I cannot tell you why: Hell’s Kitchen. I like Gordon Ransey! He uses foul language, which is always bleeped out, and demands great things of the chefs in the contest, but in some weird way, you can see his integrity come shining through. I will admit, when I first saw it I changed channels immediately, but I truly enjoy watching the progress and the meals that the chefs make. It is about real people, competing in their own area of expertise. I love those kind of shows. The Bachelor and shows of that ilk can be trashcanned, but skills competitions are fun to watch.

I hardly ever watch abc,nbc,or abc. All good shows go and end up on a&e or tnt. Watch these channels and the best written and acted shows will appear. Sometimes i think they were before their time, and the general public was not ready to enjoy at night. I would like to see supernatural come back. I would also like to know how to get a good show back, like glee did?? I cannot understand why people continually watch the batcherlors shows, shallow. It has been proven they are a sham. People only 1 couple actually married.
Survivor- go away. Come on people, you are smarter than sham reality shows… And a mistake to cancel Dexter, showtime is doing great with that show– what writing and acting!! Wake up and demand quality!

You seem to have decided to once again to screw the public by removing the most watched shows on television.This happens all the time so why should anyone get involved in a series when we know that at any time it will be axed and we are left hanging and unsatisfied.
Maybe you should just fill the air with useless, mindless reality shows that show your inability to satisfy the public.DVD’s seem to be the way to go now.

I have to agree with you Matt. The boneheads that do the programing are really not allowing shows the time to build up a veiwer base. I was only starting to get hooked on Defying Gravity after the 4th episode, and now it is out. Sounds like Firefly all over again at Fox. I guess the only good TV shows for me will be reruns, and History channel stuff,

And the new Secret Millionaire show is going to be stupid. Who living from hand to mouth wants to find out a millionaire is out there in their presence. I will miss some of these shows (LOST, Nip/Tuck, Eastwick). I AM so tired of all the stupid reality shows that aren’t even “real” but staged (And I do know first hand!) with not an inch of creativity taken to produce. What a waste of time. Anyone seen the movie Idiocracy – you know what I mean if you have. Cable and satalite providers are lowering and lowering their prices as you’ve noticed. This is because they are losing viewiers because they can’t come up with any good programming. The only reason I’ve kept my cable is for HBO and Showtime which are the only channels that have shows worth watching regularly.

It looks like ABC have no idea of what shows to make for there channel..The persons who choose the shows that air for only one season..should be sacked..and replace with some one who know what they are doing……Instead of keeping shows like Lost going for so long…they should have shows that run for 6-12 episodes per season..instead of 22-24….that would give the shows a chance..and save them some money as well.

FlashForward was the one show I did not miss… well except for Fringe. No, the networks only want to produce shows that are mindless entertainment so I will be stuck while my wife watches every version of “Real Housewifes of (Insert city name here)” this fall – I think I’m going to be very sick!!

So glad law and order is finall off the air. They (teh tv lawmen/girls) treated suspects like trash on TV even when they did nothing wrong. They made it look like all police persons treated people badly all the time. The lady with the medium length blondish brown hair, she was the worst actor I ever saw….. The lawer he was even worse. He was even worse than the police. He didn’t care if you were guilty or not he just wanted someone in jail. The show SUCKED ASS, and it was only around so long because idiots kept watching it…. But FINALLY its over… Yes I watched it for 2 seasons b4 I realized it sucked…

The only show that I am going to miss is Dollhouse. They canceled that series way too soon. Don’t these networks know that some shows have to gather a following. Remember Who’s the Boss. It was bombing in the ratings until it had a summer season all to itself. Now, its a classic. Now, with players such as Hulu helping to gain an otherwise unknown audience, they need to rethink the whole game plan. I’m sick of reality shows and time gobbling talent competitions. Bring me more comedies and dramadies, please and thank you.

I will not miss any of these shows, I didn’t watch any of them. I don’t know why air time was given to Tyra, I don her “Tacky Tyra” why would someone watch a program where the topic is “Addicted to eatting snot” ugh! is she serious. Start a family already to leave your legacy to. I could not believe out of these 35 shows that’s canceled I didn’t watch one, wow school must really have me busy. Thank God :}

I didn’t watch any of these shows any way, so they won’t be missed by me. The few times I did flip the channels and heard some of the topics on Tyra I was turned off and called the show the “Tacky Tyra Show” talking about being addicted to eatting mucus, nasty, what a waste of time. If I had the time Monk may have been something I would might have enjoyed seeing with his OCD.
