Castle: Season Five Ratings

Castle TV show ratingsThe competition for ratings on Monday nights is getting tougher and Castle’s ratings were already on the decline last season. Will it survive to see a sixth season or will it be cancelled after more than 100 episodes? Stay tuned.

The fifth season of Castle typically airs Monday nights at 10pm on the ABC network. The cast includes Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Jon Huertas, Molly Quinn, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Seamus Dever, Susan Sullivan, and Tamala Jones.

Below are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Castle is going to be cancelled or renewed for a sixth season.

Final season averages: 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.18 million total viewers.

UPDATE: ABC has renewed this show for a sixth season for 2013-14.

Year-to-year, the Castle debut was down by 34% in the demo (vs a 3.2 rating) and down by 21% in viewers (vs 13.28 million). It was the lowest demo since April 2012 and the lowest viewership since February 2012.

Reference point: The 2011-12 season averaged a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.71 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

I watch very little network TV, after seeing Castle, I bought all four seasons. My wife and I spend our spare time watching the episodes. It is clearly the brightest show on TV. As soon as season five is available, I will watch that as well. I watch faithfully every monday night, and cross my fingers for a season six

Please keep Castle on! It is the only adult show on television that is worth watching. It combines a story with a detective mystery. It shows a strong woman which is hard to find on television today. There is nothing for baby boomers to watch on television anymore. Please keep it on!

I’m watching another castle episode. You have to renew this for a sixth season. This show is 10 times better than 90% of the shows on tv. Keep it going…

Love it! It is one of my favorite shows. And I don’t live in the US so I can’t affect the ratings. I just hope that everyone in the US tune it! Pretty pleeeease…..

I LOVE Castle! I just started watching it this season (caught up on the first 4 seasons over the summer), so of course I want to see it next season and at least one more season after that. Though I will admit I wanted more romantic moments out of this season now that Castle and Beckett are a couple, but I’m not so disappointed that I would give up on it.

I look forward to this show every week. It’s the only good thing about a Monday. I love the swordplay between Nathan and Stana. Andrew Marlowe is a fabulous storyteller. Please renew this show. I’ll buy the CD’s and the books; just keep it coming!

If this show is cancelled then America will have very little TV entertainment for this started out as the premier show on television as a fill in! The Boys at ABC better wake up and smell the coffee, for if cancelled Castle will be aired by other networks for sure! Great Cast and great stories of love and intrige for even our children to see! You don’t have to have porn or nudity to get excited for it is in the details unseen or unsaid!

The dynamic is very good, we find everything in it : mystery, humor, drama, love…

Please please please renew Castle. It is my faverite show. I must say though that I agree with bigbird. The last couple of episodes, I missed the sword play,” as Stana put it in one of their interviews”. A little flirting, sneaking a kiss, more romantic eye contact and their fabulious chemistry, their charming wit would keep me hooked for several more seasons. They didn’t WIN that Peoples Choice award for nothing. It just needs more HEAT.

I’d love it to continue for another two seasons, but the last few episodes have been awful and most of the fans want the old format back. It won’t be the fans fault that it’s going to be cancelled, the writers are doing a great job in killing it!!!

I love Castle! It is one of the only shows that I am still watching that is past 5 seasons. It keeps it’s audience intrigued and I don’t know what I would do without it. Please keep Castle around.

One of the good shows left,Please let there be a season 6,7,8 and beyond.The Father daughter relationship is very inspirering for todays world,and the rest of the cast is Outstanding! Keep up the great work Castle!
