CBS is still the most-watched network but almost all of their established shows are down year-to-year. Plus, none of their new shows can really be considered hits. Which will be cancelled or renewed? Stay tuned!
CBS shows this season (so far): 2 Broke Girls, 48 Hours, 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, Bad Teacher, The Big Bang Theory, Big Brother, Blue Bloods, The Crazy Ones, Criminal Minds, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Elementary, Extant, Friends with Better Lives, The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-0, Hostages, How I Met Your Mother, Intelligence, The Mentalist, Mike & Molly, The Millers, Mom, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, Reckless, Survivor, Two and a Half Men, Under the Dome, Undercover Boss, Unforgettable, and We Are Men.
There’s lots of data that CBS looks at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are typically the biggest piece.

A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released. The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing), unless marked with an asterisk (*). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
Keep in mind that the demo numbers are typically what’s most important to advertisers. Therefore, that’s how the networks measure success. Advertisers pay more for ad time on a show that has a higher demo rating. Because older viewers don’t count? No, it’s because younger viewers watch less traditional TV and are harder to reach.
Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
The networks take into account when shows air on Fridays and Saturdays, nights when TV viewership is lower.
What do you think? Which shows are you rooting for? Which one isn’t as big a hit as you thought? Are you hoping any series will get cancelled to make way for something else?
Please renew intelligence. Or let another network pick it up and miss your shooting star!
Please renew Intelligence for season 2. The pilot was a little slow setting the stage for the season. I watched the following week giving it a chance and got hooked. I watched some episodes on demand several times. I miss the show.
Please renew Intelligence, something different for a change.
I LOVE Bad Teacher. I hope CBS will nurture this fine production past any 1st season adjustments as it finds its audience!
Tried watching Bad Teacher the other day, and just couldn’t. This is what replaced The Crazy Ones?? Apparently, by the ratings, a lot of people turned it off also.
I’m way past the 18-49 demographic so I probably don’t matter, but most evenings I watch CBS and sit through ads for stuff I don’t need or want. I spent MONTHS waiting for the first episode of Intelligence (big Josh fan, happy to watch Marg) and watched them all. Was it great? Maybe not… but neither was NCIS the first season. Half the renewed shows are mindless “reality” junk that can’t go into syndication, so renew Intelligence and give it a chance to build a following. It worked for many bubble-shows in the past. BTW, I happily gave up Castle… Read more »
I hope CBS moves Person of Interest to Sunday night next season to replace The Mentalist. Sunday night is a better fit for a show like Person of Interest and then the writers and producers can do whatever they want and not have to worry about ratings. Regardless, Person of Interest will probably be renewed for at least two more seasons anyway
DO NOT CANCEL Intelligence!! Great show. Finally something else besides another stupid sitcom. And cancelling the Mentalist? Bad moves. Both are great shows.
Cancel Intelligence and find something worthy of the time spot. I find it to be the biggest waste of time, most poorly written, directed and acted show I have seen in years if ever.
And the star (the guy candy) looks so ridiculous with his bad wig. I watched it for humor until I got tired of wasting my time on such drek.
And I do know that I control what I watch with my remote But this has been so consistently bad . . . enough already.
Person of Interest has lost 31.60% of viewership in the 18-49 demographic and more than 17% of the number of viewers so far this season. Those numbers will likely continue to decline until the end of the season. “What’s wrong with this picture?” It seems television viewers will not watch material they do not like, no matter how good the writers of a show say the show is. If viewers disagree with additions and subtractions of cast members, they will voice their displeasure with their remotes. Person of Interest is an example of a show that lost its direction and… Read more »
I really hope they renew intelligence. It’s a really good show with a heck of a cliff hanger for the 1st season.
Please, please, please, renew a Intelligence. It is a great show, very entertaining and smart. The storylines are original and imaginative and the cast have created characters that I truly care about, much like NCIS. A better time slot to a capture younger viewers wouldn’t hurt either. I truly hope you give the show time to grow.
Renew INTELLIGENCE!!! we want season 2!
Please keep intellegence! We love that show!
I agree with Chris Nearn; the writers of this show is great in seeing what future could be like. I like the characters and to me the storyline is good. I really would like CBS to renew.

With Transcendence coming out only helps to appeal to the viewers of a great television show and make everyone wonder “what if?” Intelligence needs to be renewed, not only for entertainment purposes, but such work from writers that had the ability to believe what future may be able to bring us, both horrible and greatness. Any fan of great Sci-Fi authors understands that many creations of this day were portrayed in a good story from the past.
