Chase: Final Five Episodes of NBC TV Series to Air

Canceled ChaseAfter an unsuccessful run on Monday and Wednesday nights, NBC pulled Chase from the primetime schedule in January. It was the latest bit of bad news for fans of the show. After giving the series a full season order for 22 installments in October, NBC cut the series back to 18 episodes in December. By the time it was pulled, only 13 episodes had aired and they averaged a very poor 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 5.26 million viewers.

Though the peacock network has not officially cancelled Chase, it’s impossible to imagine that they’d renew it for a second season with such poor ratings. Still, there is some good news on the horizon.

NBC has decided to burn off the remaining five installments on Saturday nights at 8pm, beginning April 23rd. Here’s the network description for episodes 14 and 15:

“FATHER FIGURE” — A ROGUE COP PREYS ON VULNERABLE VICTIMS AND ATTEMPTS TO OUTWIT THE U.S. MARSHALS –ERIC MABIUS (“UGLY BETTY”) GUEST STARS–A corrupt police officer, Justin Tate (guest star Eric Mabius), preys on single mothers in an attempt to get close to their young daughters. The U.S. Marshals work to stay two steps ahead of Tate, even casting U.S. Marshal Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as a ploy to lure him in. The case brings up raw emotions for Daisy (Rose Rollins) while Luke (Jesse Metcalfe) is involved in an internal investigation that could potentially indict Jimmy (Cole Hauser) and Marco (Amaury Nolasco).

“SEVEN YEARS” — THE U.S. MARSHALS TRAIL A PRISON ESCAPEE SEEKING REVENGE– The U.S. Marshals hunt for prison escapee David Bottner (guest star Jason Butler Harner) who launches his own desperate search for evidence of his innocence. He leads Annie (Kelli Giddish) and Jimmy (Cole Hauser) through the horrific events that sealed his seven-year jail sentence, resulting in a twisted outcome. Reeling from a previous emotional case, Daisy (Rose Rollins) unearths a hidden vice, which lands her in some trouble she might not be able to recover from. Also starring: Jesse Metcalfe (Luke Watson) and Amaury Nolasco (Marco Martinez)

TV show supportThough NBC hasn’t released a schedule that far in advance, it looks like the finale will air on May 21st. NBC will hold their upfront meeting for advertisers on May 16th and announce their upcoming schedule. We’ll know for sure that Chase has been cancelled before or by that date.

What do you think? Are you glad to see Chase is returning, even for just a handful of episodes? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on?

Hate to see this show off the air and hope that some other network will see the light and air season two. NBC is a downhill network with little or no imagination. I used to watch it religiously, but not any more.
The acting on the show is excellent and I don’t think Bruckheimer has ever made a bad show. It only needs a venue that appreciates it.

Chase, is one of the few shows that my husband and I watch together. We mainly watch sports or movies because most of todays shows are reality based. Neither one gives a crap about reality shows. We really like this show. Please keep it. Get rid of the reality shows.

How do you expect to have watchers when NBC fails to even advertise shows. Even when the show was in its prime showing….there were no promos for it and the network failed to PUMP the audience to want to see more with exciting advertisements. I sure hope they will show the remaining episodes as it is the right thing to do but also to renew for another season and promote it properly! This show deserves so much more than it has been given! There are VERY few programs that we even like on television anymore and it is a shame that the best ones keep getting pulled. PLEASE keep this show as it is sooo much better than watching nonsense that people can do in a minute!?!?!?!?! Listen to the faithful ones that LOVE the show and all those that don’t even know about the show from lack of advertising! DO THE RIGHT THING….KEEP CHASE GOING!!!

Don’t cancel this show. NBC doesn’t need another stupid reality show. I can’t stand those lame shows. Give this show a chance and promote the time slot.

I love Chase! I really hope they renew it and give it a chance. Give more promos, etc.
    Great cast and writing.

I agree with earlier comments, particularly the promos for upcoming shows. How are we (fans) to know that the show will be airing if the network does not put any effort into promos, sneak peeks, surveys, online contest, viewer input, On Demand “behind the scenes”, more edge, realism, heck anything. I LOVE the characters as well as the premise of the show and would be really sad to see it go. I think that there is always room for improvement. I only stumbled onto the show last evening and it realized that it was the last 7 minutes of a NEW episode. You guys (network) have to really do better….maybe if you cared or were more passionate about the show it could be on air and just as good or even better than a show like Law and Order.

Please, please bring back Annie Frost and the gang….love Cole Hauser too!!! It is a great show….I agree with the person who said you need to advertise a show to make it known to the public. Clicked on the show by mistake and loved it ever since!!! Go Boots!!!

I don’t know what is wrong with nbc. when they get a good show they never promote and wonder why it fails. they would rather fill peoples heads with those stupid reality shows.keep chase on the air and get smart over at that network.

Well to be frank the network poorly advertised the show once it was running. Initally the lead up was great but really I can’t remember what shows it was up against. Regardless I was excited and confused at the same time when I saw the show was recorded from my dvr list. Thank goodness I never erased it. I never saw a promo to let me know these handful of episodes were being aired. Don’t cancel a show that is already great just try something new and make it work.

I think you should bring chase back permently. It is much better than those stupid reality & game shows. No wonder you’re in last place.

I hope they renew it. It was saved in my dvr so it recorded it or I wouldn’t have any idea that it was on. My husband and I both sit down to watch it when its on and were both really sad to see it go. Makes me mad they don’t even advertise it and that’s probably for the bad reviews. Really look for a time when it can air without that kind of competition and I think more people will watch it. Definitely a great show. I even thought flash forward was an awesome show and abc cancelled it. Hard to watch series when all we get is dumb reality shows like minute to win it. Boring!! BRING IT BACK

i read that the remaining shows will be aired on saturdays 8pm.i just watched tonight.their question was.why do you think the ratings where really stupid are they?no body knows when anything is happening unless they put a lot of effort into promos etc.and build it up so joe public has a chance to watch it.i accidently found it 10 minutes before airing just by flipping channels.what kind bull…. is that.and than they turn around and ask stupid questions.
