TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
My wife and I really like this show, too and would like to see it continue.
Great show – Great acting. Please renew.
I love Code Black. It is a special show which shows a different view of a busy ER. The actors are great. I don’t want to lose the show.
I love this show! Best show to come out in a long time!
I’m 61 and I love this show, It’s dramatic and emotional and the only thing I watch. Keep ’em coming.
We vote to keek Code Black. Intelligent, entertaining, well done.
CORRECTION to my last post – I LOVE Code Black!!!
I agree with Kitty. I LIVE CODE BLACK!!! The characters are real, engaging, and memorable. This show is one of the only reasons I bother watching tv!!! It’s getting to where shows with REAL entertainment value are few and far between. And they had better start realizing that the over 50 crowd spend money on products too. I have two “30 something” kids that still live at home and the younger one (a college student) LOVES Code Black, so does her 27 year old husband (a truck driver)!! But my older child only watches RERUNS of The Simpsons and Law… Read more »
Love this show. Keep it on. I am so tired of the advertises saying people over 50 don’t count. Who do they think watches TV? Most of the younger crowd watches the sickcoms, if they watch TV at all. The older ones likes shows like Code Black, NCIS, Bull, etc. Shows with substance!! They keep on and they will lose the 50 and over audience….we’ll stop watching TV. Then what?
Love this show
