Finally a decent TV program without borderline cursing and “acceptable” nudity with morals as well as few legal lessons.
What’s wrong with this, when something like this gets cancelled and shows like the bad girls club find a home on TV? Seriously, it’s obvious big TV prefers their woman drunk, topless and fighting rather than educated and in charge. Nice to see a professional mom handling her business as opposed to being broke and trying to figure out the “baby daddy is….”

It’s been 4 years since the show ended and I had been secretly hoping that we might see a revival of the series concurrent with the last Presidential Election Campaign. Alas, that didn’t happen, and now I fear that there is no hope of this show ever returning to the airwaves. Geena Davis was a very strong character and I was kinda shocked that the series ended the way it did, with President Allen firing her campaign consultant. We have no idea how she fared in the election!

Did that made for TV movie ever come out? I have searched for it and couldn’t find any information.

They say their talking about a movie but come on I love the show I have the dvd’s I say if the movie goes well they should for sure see about bringing the show back maybe thru a different network like nbc or cbs they would do better with show like than abc most of their shows have canceled within the first couple of seasons with exception of handful and it is because when ratings drop they automatically pull plug with out offering a chance to recover they swap this show u never knew when most of the time so of course no one watch they either didn’t know when it would be on or they were in bed I hope they can bring it back and it can stay for more than a yr this time

I love this series and want to see more of it. It has so much potential. It is concurrently entertaining and educational. Plus if you have never toured the capital — you get a tour while sitting in front of your TV at home. Please tell the folks that canceled this show that there are a lot of people that miss it and wqnt it back. Keep us informed on any related subsequent movies etc.

watched all 18 episodes on Fox Life (Russia). great series and i’m very disappointed that it was canceled. i have watched quite a few “1 and done” shows on Fox Life and dont have any clue why all the series were not renewed. my only guess is there are too many new shows and they cant find an audience. also scheduling in the states is ridiculous. they keep moving shows around and too many breaks between episodes. i like when they come to Fox Life as the shows have a consistent schedule.

I’m from the UK and started watching it when it came out over here. I was admitted to hospitsal (with appendicitis like President Allen), on the 3rd week and missed it! As with real politics, if you miss one week, you miss a lifetime!! However, after buying an ipod, I have downloaded every episode and its AMAZING! I am so interested in politics and love the series – why aren’t there anymore??

I am now sending a letter to Touchstone Television HQ to ask and pleasd for the series to be put on for another series!!! I’d love it. I urge people that see this to do the same or similar!

I guess I was busy with the birth of my second child at the time of the release of this new series. I don’t remember hearing anything about it at the time. However, I do remember hearing about Gena Davis’s Golden Globe Award, but did not know for what at the time. I recently watched the series on DVD and was spell-bound and excited with every episode. I WANT more . . . please!!!!! It cannot just end like that. I hope that the producers of the series see this and all the other extremely positive comments about this show . . . and BRING IT BACK!

I was stunned to learn ABC pulled Commander-in-Chief off the air. I haven’t had a TV in two years, but I purchased Season 1 on iTunes last week. So it didn’t have enough ratings to stay on air for even one more season, BUT SOMEONE IS MAKING A CIC MOVIE? That logic doesn’t add up to me. The best I can surmise is that this program threatened to inspire people to believe in the political process once again! Do I smell cronyism?!

How do you get a major network to sit up and listen? I fear this will fall on deaf ears, but here goes.

I have been gripped by the series Commander in Chief. The impressive cast has more screen presence than I would have thought possible for a network series. As I live in England, This show was only recently available from the iTunes library. I now only have two more episodes to go and that will be that.

Such a shame class gets thrown away by the obsession for reality show viewing figures. Perhaps your sponsors should realise people with an interest in drama of such high standard tend to belong to a demographic they may desire to court. Or am I wrong to think of this as a business? Still, I’m sure we will respond well to ‘ball room island get me out of here’? Or perhaps I will just switch off and read instead.

Can we please have a grown-up in charge……. Please!!!!!

I don’t watch live to air TV any more because I always miss things due to work. Instead I buy the series and watch it in my own time. I have just finished enjoying the entire series of CIC on DVD. The net informed me that there is no series two! I bet that if the producers just made it and released it on DVD then we could all buy it and pay for the episodes that way! Perhaps that is the future of really good entertainment. Who needs to air it? Just make it and sell it direct to the consumer. How many of you out there would be happy to buy the DVDs of series two? Maybee you can’t afford to without commercials in the breaks. Would it be so awful if you inserted them on the DVD? I certainly would still buy it. Please make the movie at least but show it in the cinema, after this stupid cancellation I really don’t think that any television network deserves the efforts of the CIC team.

I am a strong fan of commander and chief and I am very sickened about the fact that it was taken off the air. I do think it was a sexist thing. If you look around, how many things do you see on TV that make a woman look strong! Very few I think. I want Commander and Chief to come back on and I will support what ever efforts needed to get that done.

I agree with everything said above, except the comment of this show not being good. This was a great, ground-breaking, thought-provoking, glimpse into what might happen show.

I really, really hope another network picks it up because it was a great cast in addition to the great writing. And I can’t believe how ABC just left us hanging with the last episode. And like Jeff above, I Tivo’d most of them and I just watched the last episode and went searching to see when it was coming back.
What a shame.

We, my husband & I, totally agree that THIS was a great show that we both wanted to watch each week! The Actors were TOP NOTCH! The writing was EXCELLENT and even believeable! At least enough to really keep you entertained which is saying a lot all things considered these days. I never thought about another network picking up the show. Anything is possible! It would be to their benefit. How easy can it be to create a show like CiC and put together a cast like the one they had? Most new shows seem fortunate to get just one, fairly big “Name” to entice viewers to watch. How do you manage to get the likes of Donald Sutherland & Geena Davis on a weekly television show, not to mention the others, and then cancel it? Doesn’t sound like a good decision anyway you spin it!

This is just another confirmation that network execs always think they know bestwhen they pull the plug. In this case it was on one of the most entertaining shows in years. Like others there are few shows that I would make special effort to watch religously. That is due in part to lack of quality and the constant shuffling of time slots and/or days for airing. They (execs) don’t seem to get it that there are 24 hours in a day and every show can’t be #1 but 2 or 3 or even 15 isn’t bad. How many dramas are left on tv/ very few because you can pre-empt any show with one of 46 sitcoms as has been done with CIC. I was praising the series as i had about “24″ on Fox fo exictment and content and then “problems” arose to the point that Jim has taken Geena’s place for my entertainment. Solve the darn problems when you have one of the top three shows is on. Don’t change schedules . . .that causes viewers to tune out, Can’t wait for the movie and I hope the execs get it this time around and dopn’t continue to screw up !!

I never watched network t.v. until this show. It is very dissapointing the the show was cancelled. The stories are wonderfull. (who cares if it is not beliavable), it is very entertaining and keeps you wanting for more. If ABC would give us a second chance, wee will watch it. Please advertise better, and they will come. I have’nt bothered to watch network anything for year
until I read or see a promo for something truly special. Commander in Chief was just that.

My complaint was ABC’s constant neglect of scheduling and promotion.

This show is actually too good and too smart for the networks.

Surely there is one venue out there intelligent enough to recognize and distribute great entertainment…..then again maybe not, watching people dance, cars go round or folks being humiliated
in front of the whole world… must sell more soap!

I’ve enjoyed reading all the comments and input concerning what a mistake it was for ABC not to bring back Commander in Chief for a 2nd season. Now I may be wrong but just a few seasons ago another political show starring Josh Brolin, as well as West Wing which all became favorites of mine, also went bye bye. It’s my feeling that these shows hit too close to home as to what really goes on behind the scenes in DC, and that’s why they get cancelled. If this type show is allowed to remain on every week, it could influence the average voter possibly away from the way things are presently being run, and of course the guys that do the political spin couldn’t have that, now could they. I really enjoyed the show until they pulled Rod Lurie. Then they started messing with the scheduling and just plain screwed everything up. As was said before no advertising. Very little support from ABC.
Maybe CBS will pick it up like they did JAG which became a big hit.
Is it possible there has been some political pressure on ABC becuse people might see the show and think, Hey, a women could work as presedent. Can we call it the Hilary syndrome?

Commander In Chief is a great show and I no longer support ABC anymore because of how it screwed the show over. I will not support network channels that only allow men to be the bos or the star. Or channels that think , and language are what we want to hear. Bring back Commander in Chief and I along with thousands of other loyal supports of commander in chief will return to your network channel. Otherwise we will surely follow the smart network channel that sees the greatness in the show.

I notice that ABC has 20/20 and Primetime on a couple of nights a week .Why not give Commander one of those time slots.

I can’t believe such a wonderful show was yanked!!!
This was a combination of a solid stroryline, great characters and wonderful actors to fill the roles. Commander in Chief appealed to not only adults but teens as well. My 13 yr. old son never missed it!!! This was a real mistake… It seems that just when a network gets a quality show, they pull it. God willing, another network with some smarts will pick this up!!!

Come on!! Mackenzie Allen, Nathan Templeton, Rod, Horace, Rebecca, Jim Gardner, Kelly, Warren Keaton, Every single person is important!!!! It is not fair they go out! Was the very best serie ever presented. The best one about Politics, and people who care for politics liked it too. Is not fair that Geena or Madame President can’t come back. I had completely stopped watching network primetime shows until Commander In Chief, Invasion & a few other quality programs came along (so had most people I know – I am 56 years old and grew up in the days when all the family could gather around the tv and not get embarrased or insulted by profane language, nudity & sex exploitation). Now that they have been cancelled, it’s back to cable-at-night. As popular as these series were, I can not begin to understand what kind of thinking the major networks are doing. But I bet soon they will go from major to minor networks, and the cable network giants will take over. So very sad!

This is the first show of its caliber with a strong actress as the lead. I enjoyed the show immensly.
The chemistry of the actors, the story itself is a wonderful potion for primetime tv. ABC, just when I thought you guys had it right. You guys had shows on every time slot leading ratings. Before last year, ABC was non-existent to me. You guys there got rid of the Dennis Leary show, The Job. STUPID MOVE. You see what the man is doing now right? Rescue Me. DUMMIES. Get it together. Bring back Commander in Chief.

I’m so depressed to learn that it’s been cancelled. It was the ONLY show I regularly made the time to watch. Geena Davis is great as the president. Another network must pick it up!

this is a great show. I can not believe people rather watch trash then to watch great acting and a show that deals with real
life stores. please bring it back. we need more stores on strong roles that women play.

How can a network justify scuttling such a wonderful show. Why in the world didn`t CBS put it on the air they are the only network that seems interested in shows that show some orginality. Please don`t tell me this is just the good old boys not being able to see a woman in a position of authority-even in TV land. My faith in the ABC network managers are way DOWN. When we look at the offerings there is nothing on ABC. The cheap reality garbage. Most are not worth the time.

THIS A VERY GOOD SHOW AND I HOE IT RETURNS SOME WHERE, BUT EVEEYBODY IS RIGHT,I NEVER NEW WHAT TIME OR WHAT NIGHT IT WOULD BE ON. I HAD TO WATCH ALL THE EPISODES ON THE INTERNET.I LOVE THIS SHOW AND I HOPE IT WILL RETURN SOMEWHERE.
