The show definitely needs to be renewed. This is the only show that I will actually watch when it airs instead of watching it off of the Internet.
I think it would be benificial to the show if they cut down on some of the more graphic things. I know when Mr. Gubler directed an episode (the one with the girl that was missing a hand) he went with the “less is more” approach with the gore, and I thought it worked out very nicely.
Also, with the “family” element they have in this particular tv show, I think it woul be good to have Prentiss make appearances here and there.
I’ve always enjoyed Criminal Minds. Contrary to most, I prefer Jeanne Tripplehorn over Paget Brewster. JT’s character makes a good counterpart to the Dr., so there could be some play there. But I agree, the crimes don’t need to be so graphic. Hitchcock’s shower scene still ranks up there.
The problem is that CTV is airing Criminal Minds on Tuesdays. We live in an era where everything is available on the internet. The numbers will unfortunately drop due to some fans watching the show online before it airs in the US
This show is not what it used to be. Not even close. For 2 seasons now, most of the writers have either been new and not knowledgeable enough of characters or creative enough to come up with cases that aren’t cheesy, or they’ve been veteran writers writing for themselves and not keeping the characters (or fans) in mind.
Also, despite repeated insistence from dissatisfied fans, the writers still keep showing the crimes in full detail. Earlier seasons focused more on the team solving the crime (and good character interactions!) than on the crime itself. But I guess most people must need to be completely grossed out to be entertained. It’s sad.
If ratings continue to drop, I wouldn’t be surprised. Season 7′s finale felt like a series finale, with it being peaceful and dealing with Emily’s departure.
i will watch this show no matter what but really am missing paget brewster love the show have for years hopefully she will come back watch the reruns over and over too please renew for many years
Although Jeanne Triplehorne is not one of my ‘favorite’ actresses, I love the other characters in Criminal Minds – enough to continue watching! Please keep it on.
That is just how I feel! I would prefer someone else in that part, but I adore most of the others too much to stop watching! They just need to make sure no one else leaves!
watched 1st of season 8 – not close to previous openers. New lady – had too much of an attitude- but I’ll give her a chance.Hopefully they will adjust her character some – or we couls see the end to a great show – as all the other characters have developed into “real” people and have fans who follow them closely!
Jeanne Tripplehorn is horrible on the show. She is not part of the team. Get Paget Brewster back. It was a great team with her on it.
I want them to renew the show, but I also think they should listen to the fans’ input on certain situations. It may drop their current ratings even further if they don’t because their fans will be completely upset. If they just blow the fans off, people will start watching other things, because why keep them on the air if they’re going to act like that?
Renew this show definitely!! It is one the best shows on TV currently.
Best show on tv please renew
@ Mary Lynn, Jeanne completely agree. I really wanted to give Jeanne a chance but it’s like she is apparently a know it all from the get go. Questioning everything the team does. Still love the show and will continue to watch but I agree Jeanne brings nothing. I miss Paget already
Renew totally
Jeanne may be Strauss~not sure who the new lady on the show is.
My favorite of all times, in fact the only program I watch on TV. I watched the first program of the series of 2012. Your program will never be the same without Paget Brewster.
You may as well write off Jeanne Tripplehorn, she adds nothing. If anything she brings a negative feeling to the program and viewers I have talked to don’t care for her at all.
Give Paget a raise, give her the Asst. to Strauss position and bring her back, renew, renew and renew for a 9th. 10th season and on, continue the program. Paget could guest star when you aren’t filming. Remember the BAU is like family. Paget was like the glue that held the family together.
Ratings are fine, but post and words speak volume’s.
