CSI: NY: Petition and Ways to Help Save the CBS TV Show

CSI NY petitionThe CSI franchise has been very successful for CBS but it’s showing its age and losing viewers. After many seasons on the air, it’s looking very possible that CSI: NY will be cancelled.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for CBS is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, well, it’s not.

However, if you like CSI: New York and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

  1. If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on CBS.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be counted directly. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
  1. Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.
  1. Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
  1. Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can use this form or, even better, write via “snail-mail” immediately to: Ms. Nina Tassler, CBS, 7800 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90039, RE: CSI: New York
  1. Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

To CBS, CBS Television Studios, and Jerry Bruckheimer Television:

We, the undersigned, enjoy watching CSI: New York on the CBS network. We’re attached to the characters and they keep us coming back week after week.

Please find a way to keep CSI: New York on the air. We are devoted viewers who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the series’ advertisers as well. Please keep it going, either on CBS or, if necessary, on another channel.

Thank you for your consideration.

Please keep CSI NY on the air I really enjoy watching it, it has a lot of real life experiences that can truly happen. Also I feel that when it got moved to Friday's the network signed it's cancellation. I have noticed that when you move any shows to Friday eventually they are cancelled & feel this isn't fair.. Please give this show another chance. Thank You

This is an excellent show which takes place in a great city. It is a tribute to the NYC police and to their bravery in the face of disaster. The show has interesting characters who are not just stereotypes like on too many shows. They are interesting to watch and I truly feel connected to them and their lives. I truly want them to be safe and happy.

Please do not cancel CSI NY!!!! Even though the Friday night time slot seems the be the kiss of death for quite a few shows, it did very well when it was on Wednesday. Friday nights are bad for TV viewing at our house, but I always made sure the record CSI. When it is on cable, I still try to record those shows even if I have seen them several times before...I always pick up something I missed. Thank you

This is one of the only programs on network TV that is worth watching. It is intelligently written and does not insult it's audience. All of those in the cast make it extremely believable. I respectfully request you do not cancel this show.

Please keep CSI NY on . I enjoy watching the show because of the content and the characters and their stories. It is nice to watch a procedural show and not a reality show.

There are so few really good shows left on TV - why would you want to cancel one? CSI New York has the wonderful Gary Senise and the rest of the cast = really good character development and interaction between them - I think this is the best of the CSI's and on equal footing with the original CSI in Las Vegas. Please give it more seasons
