Dating in the Dark: ABC Reality Show Renewed for Season Two

Dating in the DarkThere’s still a little bit of spark left for Dating in the Dark.

Hosted by Rossi Moreale, the ABC reality series debuted last summer, paired with the alphabet network’s Bachelor series. The show follows trios of men and women who meet and get to know one another in a totally dark room. After several meetings and choosing one partner, they’re shown each other’s physical appearance and must decide if they’d like to continue dating.

While the July-August ratings weren’t great, averaging a 1.97 rating in the 18-49 demo, ABC execs are apparently satisfied enough with the numbers to bring Dating in the Dark back for another round of six episodes.

There’s no word on when Dating in the Dark will return but a Summer 2010 run is expected.

What do you think? Are you glad that this show is coming back? If you’ve watched it, is it better or worse than you expected?

Just like ABC to bring back such stupidity. Thank the Lord for allowing some 97 other channels to be available in my home!

Seriously ABC please go back to normal shows. And network tv wants to know why people prefer good cable over them this is why.
