I live in the UK and watch far too much television,.I saw most of the episodes of DIRT and it was a very good show! Can’t see why it wasn’t as popular in the states. Maybe the worldwide syndication made up the numbers. As it was on several of the channels over here. I suspect that when they take a look at the overall worldwide viewing figures they will show that there were a lot of fans out there. Some of the biggest ever shows were not immediate hits and had to be saved by fans demanding more Look at Star Trek now or the X files. Both rescued by their worldwide audience rather than local and a fan base. I suspect in this celebrity driven cultural age that Dirt was right on the money. The Film is just begging to be made but with real A list stars as themselves, in fictional story lines where perhaps art would imitate life. You could probably bring the whole show back on the premise of have having major A list stars as themselves. Imagine Robert Downey junior, Colin Farrell, or any of the more controversial Hollywood stars. A Micky Rourke domestic violence storyline or George Clooney outed by DIRT. Or Alicia Keys in an episode trying to negotiate back photos of her in some girl on girl action. Or DIRT threatening to go public on JAY-Z about his involvement with the deaths of Biggie and Tupic. Also the opposite would work great. Actors and stars that have a more wholesome image, could do storylines that showed a torrid and dark world behind the image Lisa Gibbons or Oprah fighting tooth and nail to surpress damaging eveidence of their private lives. It would be great! I think the public don’t want fictional celebs when the can get that on any reality based TV show. So do DIRT with real stars as themselves in semi fictional controversy. I’m telling you with performances and cameos from real stars that show would be back with a vengeance. Maybe I’ll write a treatment and send it off to Courtney. Despite the demise of the show any one who watched an episode would have to be impressed by her consistently outstanding performance as the emotionally crippled Pit bull editor of Dirt magazine. I’ve no doubt that had the show had better ratings in the US Cox would have received much more artistic recognition in the form of awards she was brilliant. For those of You that haven’t seen it for heaven’s sake catch is run or DVD The show had everything but the kitchen sink “Real Drama.” Anyone else thinks this would be a great idea let me know or better yet email my comments to the relevant powers within the Courteney Cox Arquette Production team.

BRING BACK THE SHOW DIRT! It was sooo good and I got so into it which I think a lot of people did as well. I really love Court’s new show Cougar Town as well but I hope that she will also bring back Dirt! Love that show! Please bring it back!

I am so disapointed about ‘Dirt’ being canceled. I’m beginning to wonder if it is even worth continuing to pay for satelite if there is going to be nothing on to watch. ‘The Riches’ is gone and ‘Dirt’. What the hell are we suppose to watch? I mean there is hardly anything on these days that is worthy. I’m going to sign up for a sewing class because THAT is more exciting that what’s on the tube. So sad….

I cannot believe they cancelled this show.. it was seriously the ONLY reason I even turned the television on FX. The show was one of the best shows ever.. I loved it and am really disappointed. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started watching Dirt all the way over here in the Middle East. My friends and I LOVED it………… Somebody please bring Dirt back! The most original show I’ve seen in forever with fantastic writing and Actors.

This was a GREAT show…I am also very disappointed. I believe that this has been the best acting job for Courteney. I like it much better than in Friends.

Like the rest of you, I too am totally devastated by the cancellation of the show. Granted, Season 2 of Dirt did seem a tad slow; the episodes weren’t as sharp witted, fast-moving and shocking as the first one, but still, it managed to keep me interested. The flag bearer was certainly Courteney Cox; what an actress she is! I salute her. Don Konkey’s recovery from skitzophrenia and his falling for that young singer just slowed the pace of the show – somehow it didn’t work. And some of the sub-plots were weak too, like the woman who was going for a total make over… However, I have to admit that I was still hooked, and I still enjoyed Dirt Season 2. Sad

I loved this show and The Riches. I’m really sad not 1 but 2 of my favorite shows are gone!!! I know it sounds pathetic, but these 2 shows helped me bare the last few weeks of being cooped up in the house after a long winter!

OMG! I have been waiting for this show to come back and just found out it was cancelled! That is ridiculous! All the great shows get cancelled. That was a great show! Great! I loved Courtney Cox’s character. Nothing like I’ve ever seen her play before! She was great! And… so was the rest of the cast!!! If Nip Tuck can make it then so can Dirt! Please bring it back!

I can not believe that no one(other network) else was able to pick this up. Just cause ratings were down one season doesn’t mean it would not have rallied the next. It sure had me as a loyal watcher along with my freinds. We would call and 3 way through the whole show!!!!!

DIRT, WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOW’S ON T.V. AND CABLE!!! THE SHOW HAD MORE OF AND EDGE THEN MY BARBERS STRAIGHT RAZOR. I loved DIRT. I have been looking all over for the new season and just found this site telling me its been cancelled! WHY ON EARTH! It was such a great show. No wonder I hate FX… just looked at its recent lineup… it sucks. No DIRT…. that was the best show on the lineup. I can’t believe it. Cox was incredible…. I loved her character…. I wanted to be like her.

Too Bad, ” The Shield” is in it’s last season and this is one of the shows I look forward to watching, even though I usually don’t watch while it is on T.V. I always buy the DVD set and usually watch it all within a couple days so that it is still fresh and I don’t forget anything…

I’m sorry to hear Dirt was cancelled. I wonder if it was political? Maybe too close for comfort on some of the episodes or was it all completely fiction? Who knows, right? It was done very well. I always looked forward to watching it. I put it in the same category as Mad Men as far as something new , not your every day sitcom. And very creative. The writers on both of these shows are excellent. Sorry to see it go.

FX is about to go on my S#!+ list. We are waiting over a year for Damages to come back on AND they cancel one of the best written and intriguing shows on the channel!! I am appalled at this cancellation and blame FX for not promoting the show enough to keep the ratings. This was one that should have stayed running for years to come.

I’m spanish and I’ve seen this show on youtube. It’s a great show with intelligent and brilliant scripts, so to speak, something very unsual on TV. I’m actually upset with the cancellation. Does anyone know if there’s any way to complain formally?

Because of the writers strike ? Viewership declined ? What do they expect when a strike happens ? Perhaps if they would freaking market stuff right and give things a chance this would not happen. I am going to start a petition. I say we start sending FX Network, dishes and bags of dirt. Maybe they will get the hint we need to “dish some dirt”. I am tired of some crack-head executive not really understanding television programming. Let’s dish the dirt. Dishes of dirt, dirty dishes, this show must go on. all the good shows get cancelled, this show actually was decently done, they should see about putting it on showtime or hbo and do it with out the commercials
this one is better than the played out nip/tuck series. would have thought that would have suffered in viewers before this one.
bummer and bitter…………I’m done with tv.
