I follow DL’s comedy etc… wherever he is to entertain. DL is definitely talented. I love CNN but you made a big mistake of canceling his show. I will definitely boycott the 10:00 hr. I would tune in on Saturdays just because of DL’s show now I have no interest. Fresh new blood with laughter is what we needed, and that is definitely what we received from him. Well he’ll be successful back home in Cali with a new and better gig. Many hands down for the decision CNN.

If DL Hughley had made more comments such as the one he did regarding the GOP, he would not have been cancelled. That was smart and right on.

What the show needed was more smart, sophisticated commentary and instead just got the low form of comedy.

I am very sad to see D.L. go. Not only did he bring a great comedic spin to the news, he also helped with my research for school. My husband and I really loved the show. I don’t know why CNN let it go, but they should not have. I am sure another network will pick him up for another show if he is willing.

Although I am a middle-aged white female accountant, I enjoyed the heck out of DL’s show. It was such a breath of fresh air; really cutting edge and I was proud of CNN for putting it on the air. What I really liked is that he would say the truth as he lived it, and not worry about being politically correct. I am very sorry that the show has been cancelled!

I am saddened about D L Hughley’s program’s cancellation. CNN needs to have some imagination and courage in it’s lineup. There is a first amendment and Hughley’s comments “pale” in comparison to comments made by Hannity, O’Riley, Oberman and so forth. Wake up CNN. You had a great thing going with Mr. Hughley’s wit and intelligence.

It’s sad to see DL leave I really enjoy his show and comments he really gets to the point and make fun of everything.
I just wonder if it has to do with the color, Keith Oberman’s comment to Rush Limbaugh, or to George W. did not affect his Job don’t get me wrong I always enjoy keith since he was the sportscaster for KTLA in the 80’s and I love his aggresivness,his comments,his honesty to reality.
Is it racial that a black man cannot make these type of comments.by the way I’m not black,but I don’t see any fairness here.
DL will be back on the air again and we will enjoy his show again. sooooon!!!!

For those who watch the Democratic and Republican conventions, forget who you thought should be president, where was the most variety of people? Music? Also, the speakers were not screaming about how awful that thought the other camp was. CNN, look back on all those rallies…..it was Nazi camp for anyone other than a white person. The convention for the (D) was filled with young folks in jeans, babies, great music. The (R) was polyster and over weight white folks. I happen to be white and given the choice I’d be at the (D) party.

To start with, Hughley is a ho-hum comedian at best (I believe very overated). I don’t know if those comments got him canned or not, but they were kind of stupid and certainly not that funny. I’m sure CNN can come up with a suitable replacement. Also, number 23 (Dennis) might try a spelling course.

DL was a fresh outlook for CNN. I looked forward to seeing his show every weekend. I watch other shows on CNN for their news reporting, but DL brought humor and an open mind to current topics. It’s so sad. What will be in his place, more reruns of Larry King? Maybe Comedy Central could pick up his show, and CNN could go back to just giving the news.

I knew DL’s days on CNN were short – I was surprised CNN even started the show. CNN was just trying to get brownie points because we have a Black president. Sorry CNN but we see through you. I will give you credit for putting forth a good effort to report the news in an even handed manner. I will continue to watch your programming. NOW — In response to JC Smith, I don’t want to offend you and I think you believe you understand Black people but you really don’t. Indeed it was Republicans who first opposed slavery but Republicans immediately took up policies that would harm the welfare of Black people. There is just nothing Republican’s have to offer African Americans. Republicans want smaller Government so Big business can get away with the crimes they commit and there will be no one to catch them and bring them to justice. We are seeing the fruits of Republican policies right now. The problem is – the soul of man is evil and people/businesses have to be watched at all times or they will commit evil. If you see a Black Republican you are truly looking at a fool (they want to align themselves with the rich Republicans at the expense of their own people). The Republicans will have to do a LOT more than put a Black person over the RNC to attract us. Personally I’m offended that Republicans think they can win Black people support by elevating a Black person to lead their party (are you kidding). I’ll clue you in on something – Black people who are Republicans have nothing in common with everyday average Black people. In my estimation, Republicans will probably never win the support of Black people. Republicans should stick to stealing elections — they will get more results from their efforts. People who are in tune to things that affect Black people understand that Rush is truly a racist. As you suggest people should do, I have listened to Rush and he makes my flesh crawl. Black people only have to listen to someone for a short time to know if the person talking has a low regard for African Americans. I do not use the race card in a frivolous manner because it will lose its value – but – trust me when I say – Rush is a racist. He doesn’t care for Black people at all and if you agree with him then maybe deep down you may be too. Have you examined yourself objectively? I accept as true, it’s hard to see one self truthfully – self included. Pretend you are a Black person, really try to think like one and then listen to Rush. We are not all hypnotized by the so call Liberal Media. I find the far right just as distasteful as the far left. Nothing can exist without balance!

This show got off to a slow start but grew on me in no time at all. At first he seemed like a fish out of water but I was so thrilled to see him push on and get it very right in the end. His common sense approach fits well with our new leadership in the country, no matter what color his skin is. He asked guests real questions that I would have asked if I had the opportunity. I’m disappointed in CNN but I know that DL will move on with another skill in his repertoire. He matured and made me laugh and think all at the same time. Thank you DL. You will be missed and I will follow you where ever you go!

Rush is not and has never been racist. Maybe you should listen to his show before throwing out comments like that. Secondly, if D.L. was let go because of the comments, he deserved it. Comparing the GOP convention to Nazi rallies not only makes no sense, it is base hypocrisy. All GOP rallies combined could not come close to the Orwellian feel of ONE of Obama’s “worship me as a Greek God” shows.

Of all people, black Americans should favor the GOP. It was the Republicans who led the fight to free the slaves, the Democrats opposed it. A Conservative was the first black Supreme Court Justice. A Conservative was the first black Secretary of State. It was a Conservative who was the first black WOMAN Secretary of State. And you have the audacity to claim Republicans are racist? If anyone is racist it is the Democrats who hold people in bondage to a welfare system and engender race hatred and class warfare.

The number one cause of death in the black community is abortion. More black people are aborted (9,683,928) than die from AIDS (136,557) Violence (201,491) Accidents (250,087) Brain Vessel (364,586) Cancer (1,118,609) Heart Disease (1,532,362) COMBINED.

I submitted to quickly. I wish D.L. Hughley continued success in life. His firing was in the same spirit of equality that others have been fired for. He was fired for an outrageous and offending statement in a politically correct culture. I do hope that he will be given another chance after some time away. I also hope that once we get past the black vs white, white vs black, we can eventually get away from the political correctness and let people show themselves to be people and not perfect.

In regards to Bonnie Brown’s comments, it’s interesting that in our PC environment the promotion of diversity is celebrated unless one steps off the DNC plantation and then they’re labeled an “Uncle Tom” which I was always taught to be racist and intolerant . That’s a damn shame. Hughley’s show was funny, controversial, but pretty informative also. It was his interview with Michael Steele that really helped put Steele out there as the clumsy buffoon he is.
