No stranger to television, Katherine Heigl had a long tenure on ABC’s successful Grey’s Anatomy TV series. Her next show, State of Affairs, was cancelled after one season on NBC. Now, she’s back on the small screen with a CBS legal drama called Doubt. How will this series do in the ratings? Will Doubt be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
The Doubt TV show stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis; Elliot Gould as Isaiah Roth; Laverne Cox as Cameron Wirth; Dreama Walker as Tiffany Simon; and Kobi Libii as Nick Brady. Sadie is a brilliant attorney who starts to fall for her charismatic client. Pediatric surgeon Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale) was recently accused of murdering his girlfriend, 24 years ago. Sadie has to hide her growing feelings from everyone, including her close friend and colleague, Albert Cobb (Dulé Hill). Getting involved with her client could put Sadie’s career and happiness at risk — particularly if Billy is found guilty. She must work all the harder to prove reasonable doubt, even while she has some doubts of her own.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
2/25 update: CBS has pulled Doubt from the schedule after only two episodes. Details here.
8/13 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Did you like the Doubt TV show on CBS? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for season two?
5/17 update: It’s official. There will be no second season of Doubt. Details here.
I love this show!!
I’d hate to see this show get cancelled. It’s an interesting storyline and the cast is great. Too bad good shows like these get pushed aside for game and “reality” programming. I don’t have anything against these types of shows but we certainly have more than enough of them already and a little goes a long way. Renew Doubt!! Please!!
I absolutely love this show and am completely in love with these characters. The enter cast of actors infused something really special into each of their characters. This is the best legal show since Boston Legal!
I love the show. I liked it from the beginning. Give it a chance and bring it back. You can hardly go by summer viewer ratings when people in that demographic have other things to do on a Saturday night at 8pm besides watch tv. It’s not fair to fans to base your decision on ratings for an unrealistic time slot. For the record, I have dvr’d every episode to view later.
This show was cancelled and they are finishing up the show on Sat. They gave it only 2 epsys and boom. Not fair to the actors or the fans. They had 4+mil. watching now barely 2mil. Got to like the show on Sat.
I think the show is great. Give it a chance, much better then many shows CBS is airing. They need s Good Wife replacement and Doubt is it.
Save the show and bring it back … I love it! Great cast should have never been cancelled
Please revive this show this belongs in my scheduled line up for next season recordings
it seems that they are cancelling many series before giving them a fighting chance these days. Doubt is one of them shows that grows on you, I think it would prove a winner if given the chance; season 2 please!
COME ON CBS! Doubt is a GREAT Show! Love Elliott Gould and the entire cast is fun to watch. The story-lines are great too! Give it another chance.
I really Hope CBS will renew Doubt. The Cast was excellent. Love Elliott Gould and . . . They were ALL great. COME ON CBS Doubt is a GREAT show. Give it another chance.
definitely renew
it is a great show!!1 they get rid of the good ones. Everyone is so good in it. a little humor a little of drama Who rates these shows!!1
Definitely renew it for a second season.
Interesting and unique characters, with a talented cast of actors. It’s also great to have a show with an openly transgender character with an openly transgender actor. It’s a shame that CBS cancelled it without having given it any opportunity to grow on an audience or having spent any effort on promoting it. Any failure frankly falls on CBS.
This show has it all. Great actors , intrigue , current issues and comedy. Best
Network show in a long time! Family can watch together.
