Just when something good comes along it gets cancelled!!!!
This series was by far better than most other series that have been running for a couple of years, plus the story has been left dangling .

I stumbled on Eastwick about 4 months ago by accident on Apple TV. I never it existed.

I have passed the word on to a group of my friends whom all love it and are as disappointed as I am by the cancellation.

How come this series was never promoted properly?

The acting and story lines are fantastic.

Go on give it anothergo.

Not surprised ABC would Cancel Eastwick. They probably have a hard time adjusting to having a good quality program on their net work.

Perhaps another net work will pick up Eastwick after recognizing how the fans are disappointed at the cancellation of this brilliantly written & directed show,with a cast who so effortlessly bring each character to life.

Eastwick was very interesting. Looked forward to every episode. Sets were very colorful and interesting and actors were great! Very disappointed that ABC has made yet another ludicrous decision. Been looking for its return. I totally agree with the concensous. A ridiculous show like V ABC supports . They seem to have no insight and little respect for the viewer whom is following the shows they initiate. Sometimes it take a better time slot and a little more patience than ABC seems to have to get things rolling. Of the 4 major networks, ABC ranks the lowest here for this typical behavior! We are dropping Happy Town and other ABC shows due to this uncertainty. Who knows what ABC is upto.

Why are all the good shows canceled and the dumb ones kept, I don’t get it. I loved lipstick jungle they got rid of I loved October Road, Brothers that was on NBC tho but they were all great shows Im not going to get into anymore of TV series cause once you do then it’s gone. All they want are these dumb reality shows which I can’t stand they are scripted and I can’t stand watching them….

I can’t keep up with when new episodes are supposed to air; the “seasons” are wacky nowadays. So I only just found out about the cancellation of Eastwick because I was trying to find through a new/different dvr system.
Aaarrgghh! Why do networks keep gigving up on shows? This is so frustrating, as soon as you pick up a show and decide to make your own its gone. Then your friends will keep telling you about the shows they watch and how you’ll love them; but who wants to adopt a new show after it’s been on for a while? I like to try them out new and keep ‘em or ditch ‘em.
If the guilty pleasure “expensive” shows disappear will we really be left with just crappy reality tv? How sad for us….

@Bandi: No. Lifetime hasn’t publicly expressed any interest in the show. There was a poll on the Lifetime board about it which raised people’s hopes but it was started by a fan. It wasn’t official. Sorry.

It is truly a shame about Eastwick. It was a well written show with characters that you could get in to, and a story line that was fun to follow. The show was wonderfully cast with brilliant actresses, and what a joy it was to see Cybil Sheppard again after all this time!

I have to admit to being seriously disappointed by ABC’s decision and I regret that I waited so long to find out about the show being cancelled! I really would have like to have put in some input.

I blame ABC for the demise of the show. They did only minimal advertising of the show. It would have truly benefitted from advertising on cable networks and even on the CW, which is still trying to find a place for the “Charmed” fan base by coming up with soap opera-ish vampire tales in a vain attempt to fulfill that void. ABC could have played with time slots as well, and worked a bit to find a home for this delightful new show.

What a waste. I sure hope that SOMEONE picks the show up. ABC’s loss CAN be someone elses gain.

ABC is notorious for pulling stunts like this – Just look at their “Family” channel’s KYLE XY – dumped in a cliffhanger after a highly successful run – it actually brought new viewers to ABC Family. After LOST concludes, I will never let myself get into a drama on ABC again.

I loved Eastwick, it is highly addictive.
The format was great with loads of plot potential.
What a shame that ABC does not the inclination to re promote the 1st series and create new series. They need to do more advertising.
Look what happened with Charmed – it became massive and is sorely missed.
This is the gap that Eastwick can fulfil. Perhaps another time scheldule would make it appeal to a wider audience.

I never saw any previews about the show and only heard about from a friend that caught it one week. As soon as I became aware of I watched it religiously, only to have the network cancel it a few weeks later!

Just now found out Eastwick was canceled when I did a web search to find out why it hasn’t been on. I’m so disappointed with ABC. They don’t seem to give their shows a chance to succeed unless they are extremely successful right out of the box. First it was Men in Trees, then Dirty Sexy Money, and now Eastwick. I think the execs at ABC should start reading these posts and get better in touch with what the public wants which is more smartly written, can’t wait until the next episode shows like Eastwick. Shame on you ABC for not giving this show a better chance to succeed by perhaps trying it on a different day and time slot. Very disappointing……….

I JUST THIS SECOND found out Eastwick was cancelled. As everyone said, NO ONE HEARD about this show. I found it because I decided one day to watch Cougartown. Wednesday night became to me getting through Modern Family and Cougartown just to get to Eastwick. Now, I’ve been tuning in every Wednesday, and entering “Eastwick” on my DirecTV and finally, websearched to find that this fresh and fabulous show is cancelled? Crazy!

I personally am not at all surprised they yanked it prematurely, before a season finale — that’s network for you. Grab your audience with a teaser, then slam the door and leave. A cop-out. The network doesn’t care that show fans at least want to see the reasonable closure. Its all about “ratings” and money. A still flawed system. And what are RATINGS based upon? Normal TV viewing. Apparently these networks haven’t yet grasped DVR yet. ‘What’s that? DVR? What that’s about” DUH.
Appx. 80% of households have them! Most people I know live by DVR because of work schedules. Does the network understand this, yet COUNT this technology as a method of their RATINGS? Most likely not. In fact, I read some things online which proves this fact. And yet the shows end up suffering because of a faulty system.

Like all of you, I am quite sad also, as I loved the 1987 hit movie. How sad the network claimed a ‘low-rate’d audience, when most likely was not. But, will we ever know the truth.

I’m very disappointed this was on of the shows I looked forward to. Every Wednesday my husband and I would make a night of Eastwick can’t you change to CBS or something I love these girls. I grew up on the movie and love the fact that there was finally a series. This is the worst possible move by cancelling the show. Cancel Ugly Betty I can’t even get into that. It seems like every time I get into a show it gets cancelled.

Tired of realty shows, don’t watch regular tv, except for my local news! Apparently ABC, can’t be sexy, or progressive….PLEASE write the sponsors and tell them how you feel! I AM furious about the cancellation of EASTWICK.I thought it was cleverly done with amazing actors. I think they could have given it a little more time. Perhaps moved to a differnt time slot. Pleaseeee bring it back. It was refreshing and I looked forward every week to watch how these ladies handled every day challenges. It made one think about the possibilites. But hey- we still have those mindless reality shows to watch. And lets not forget about the dozens of crime dramas and physics who can solve a case in one hour. I am pissed off that this show was cancelled. Eastwick is actually the ONLY show on my non-cable TV that I looked forward to watching all week besides ‘That 70s show”. It wasn’t the Witch part of the show I liked but being able to relate to their lifestyles, work, and life in general. I need something to watch that I can relate to and that makes me LAUGH as I am a single female, on unemployment, and depressed as hell in general. Please bring it back. Right now in this economy, we all need something to laugh at, something that is interesting & curious, and people to relate to in some way. Me~~being a single woman, divorced twice, and 60–although people think I am 42 or so and younger guys are always asking me out—Ha! Well, tis the truth & I am still young at heart & actions, kinda like those girls on the show.

I just copied & sent this comment to ABC (contact ABC google search), and I encourage everyone who has invested and cares about a cancelled show do the same! ~I LOVED THIS SHOW!!! So sad to see another of the shows for a mixed audience, well produced, shot, directed, and acted, go away due to ??? I would really appreciate it if these networks tok into account how many hours we put into these shows, and the interest and bonds we have with the story and characters. Please, could they at LEAST wrap them up so our curiosity can be eased. In the last year or so I have lost HOURS AND HOURS to shows like this one, Lipstick Jungle, Samantha Who, Privileged, and more. Sorry our audience isn’t important enough to even finish the story.

I too , looked forward to this show , even rewatched them when feeling down……….have not been committed to a show , since Greys Anatomy , and Desparate housewives…..and never watched an episode twice to feel GOOD……… I think you guys are REALLY missing it on this one……. I’m terribly, terribly disappointed to learn that Eastwick has been canceled. It doesn’t seem like it was given a fair shot. How about moving it to another night before axing it completely? I loved that show and looked forward to Wednesday nights at 10:00. I truly enjoyed the show, the story line and the commaradarie between the 3 women. To add insult to injury, it has been replaced with Ugly Betty. Please reconsider bringing it back. As it is, sorry, I’m switching to another channel. Ugly Betty is not how I want to spend my evening.
Why not move it to NBC in place of Jay Leno. There seems to be an opening in that time slot!

Extremely upset this so is No Longer on. I always enjoy shows about withces, such as this, similar to Charmed. It was nice to have something like Eastwick on. I was ready to buy the DVD’s when it finally came out. I guess we just have to wait for the next show. JUST BRING THIS ONE BACK!! I didn’t find any down moments involved, there was always something to look forward to.

I am still furious over the way Defying Gravity was handled by ABC, with the idiocy and the lying to it’s viewers and all. (If you’re going to cancel a show, don’t tell people you’re not going to and then go ahead and do it anyway days later!) So this pretty much adds to that fury. It is not often enough that a TV series implants you as the audience in a part of the country that is curiously interesting and beautiful to see. I so enjoyed the setting in which Eastwick was planted; the town atmosphere; the home furnishings; the cozy camp feeling you get when you are somewhere you really want to be. The TV series did that for me. I was there, part of the trio, truly enjoying the many developing plots. I enjoyed the “Bewitched” feeling the series gave me. I was excited about watching the “old” faces of characters I simply adored in past series when they were younger and something about their aging and kept beauty and spunk spoke to me. The new faces were enjoyably quirky. I know I am but just a small voice and believe me, I usually could care less what is on TV, but this show I would schedule around. I am very sorry it has been cancelled.

I’m sad and angry… I wish ABC had the consideration to let the season finish itself out.

I thought the show was witty and different and exciting. I recorded it EVERY week just in case I wasn’t home… I wouldn’t have dared to miss one episode. I will not watch Ugly Betty, and I will be letting people know how ABC did this… There are at least 10′s of 1,000′s of people who love this show. To me, that is sucessful. Unbelievable! Isnt Oprah on ABC? Isnt The View on ABC?
Are you telling me that if ABC got Oprah and/or the View to hype up a show geared for women between the ages of 30 – 50 that show would not be a huge success?
Hey ABC… it doesnt take a genius to figure it out, Oprah speaks and the women listen, they will eat dirt if she tells them to. use your resources whats the problem?
Abc execs must not like the show they sure could save it if they wanted to.

No ugly Betty here!
If eastwick is not on wednesday nights
I will not be watching abc wednesday nights.
It was one of the best shows on TV.
The only show me and my wife looked forward to watching together each week.

Eastwick was my favorite show on ABC. I’m extremely disappointed that ABC cancelled the show. They should have shown the last episode. I will not be watching most of the shows on ABC now. Eastwick is what pulled me to ABC. Because of Eastwick I ended up watching the shows that came before Eastwick. Eastwick was the most exciting part of my Wednesday night. ABC you should try picking up the show for one more season and see how things go.

I am utterly disappointed with Eastwick’s cancellation. It was the perfect end to my day with its sexy, comedic, and juicy folly. I guess I will be switching back to cable. This is why I prefer cable to network TV. Shame on ABC for not giving this charming show a real chance. Eastwick was an acquired taste that I grew to enjoy… very much. I hope another network picks it up so I can keep watching these characters evolve.

The least abc could have done was give the show and the people who watch it some closure. They wonder why noone wants to start watching a new series, well this is why!

I agree if ABC thinks we are not watching then we should boycott their programs and watch the ratings go down on all shows. I like CBS better anyway. They have better comedies.

I definitely have this to say I love Eastwick and seeing this weeks slot filled with Ugly Betty I for one will not be watching ABC!!! What are you people thinking?????
