It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I loved this show! I was so depressed when I heard it was cancelled. I really think that it is in part because they put it in a bad time slot. The only time I could watch it was online. Also, the advertsing sucked. I heard about it from a friend who told me I had to watch it. I did and fell in love. Then I introduced my sister to it, and she became a huge fan. They cut this show without even giving it a chance. I would love to see it picked up by someone else! I used to love ABC, but now I am sick of all of their shows.
@Robyn I love Privledge too, I love Jo-Anna Garcia as well…they are always taking off good shows, like another good show Areested Development.

I thought that this was a really great show. I think that it deserved more time to prove itself. The networks now pull shows so quickly. Give them a chance. This show was different, it was funny, intelligent, full of suspense and it had a great cast. BRING it back…….and Privledged too!

and they never even showed the remaining episodes and prolly never will..niether did they “rap”up the story lines or whatever

I really like this show and I think that it sucks that its cancelled. I was born in 82, but the movie “Witches of Eastwick”, used to be my favorite movie. I would watch it over and over all the time. Never really quite getting what was going on… so naturally when the show aired I as quite interested. Although it may be different completely.. it was still very good and worth watching.. Im sorry to see it go. I love shows with magic!!

i was so mad that eastwick got cancelled. because i am so tired of watching who is losing weight , who can sing or better yet who cannot and in my opinion they should go ahead an let Micheal Jackson die. but i guess you would have to like this kind of material to start with to have liked this show and i did and when it was cancelled and they put ugly bettyon in it’s place i was soooo mad

I found this show to be original, clever and some great casting. It’s a shame that it was cancelled as it was enjoyable and a grown up show. I am sick and tired of all the “reality shows” and we do not need another one. Execs, take a moment and look at this show again, see if it could be reinstated, all the clever shows, like this and Pushing Daisy’s that are outside of the box have gone by the way side. Let’s get away from vourism of people’s lives.
The network decision makers don’t care what we want to watch, and I seriously doubt any of our comments will ever get to anyone who matters! I believe Invasion was also an ABC show, but at least they released it on DVD and concluded 1 season, whereas they pulled the plug on Eastwick without even finishing the 2 shows that had already been taped, that’s just mean!!
I hate when this happens, ya just get into a show and they pull the plug!! It sucks that you are left hanging I really liked eastwick I am a huge desperated housewife fan and it takes alot to meet up to that show but i think given time eastwick could of. I cant rember what network ran the Invasion show but they did the same thing cut it off before its time I agree with the uguly betty commont that show is old and getting boaring but they still run it. Some of these shows never get a chance, they get dumped mid season Hey networks hears an idea run the show for 2 seasons give it a chance for people a chance to get hooked. Look at ER when it first came out it did not rate well, lost was the same way look at them now!!
I watched the show when it first premiered. I loved it, until Nip/ Tuck season 6 started up. So I had to choose between my all favorite show Nip/Tuck or my new gotta watch show Eastwick. I stuck with Nip/ Tuck. Maybe if they move the show to Thursday or something. Thursdays usually don’t have anything worth watching.
I love this show. I really hope a miracle happens. I really look forward to comimg home after work on wed andwatching the new episodes.
I believe this a clever show with quick wit and sexual banter. This show is completely sexy and something different. I can’t believe it was cancelled and what do they have to replace it another played out rerun of Ugly Betty . That show was cute about two years ago now it’s just borderline tired . Maybe another network will pick it up . They say it was cancelled it due ratings but, I don’t think people even knew about the show there was no advertsistment . I just watched back to back episodes online and I think this show is awsome . It completely sucks it was cancelled everytime I like a show it gets cancelled . Maybe people just didn’t get it.
I would hope that they’d at least get around to showing the remaining episodes!
Please bring it back, it is a good show.
