What the Hellllll!!! You need to have a season two! The show wasn’t even wrapped up properly, SOOOOOOO MANY unanswered questions! And this really is a super great show with an awesome cast! How can you guys just cancel it like that…..I’m so intoxicated with this show and I’m very sure I’m not the only one. Eastwick has a lot of fans out there that is still pining for it to come back! It’s so completely unfair if you’re going to air a show not to mention a great show but just cancel it and leave it, leave us fans hanging. At least have the decency to give the show and us fans a proper ending! There are other shows that deserves to be cancelled more than Eastwick!

Eastwick was likely cancelled not because of ratings but because of Christians who do nothing but bash witchcraft. Every single witch themed show, or movie has been altered or removed for this reason. The exception was “Charmed” because the witches banished evil and there were angels in it.

The other reason could be that those practising Wicca were not too happy with this “Witches in consort with the Devil” like the movie “Witches of Eastwick”. This show actually has the potential to have Daryl being an ascended master or rogue archangel just allowing women to become their fullest potential.

My third theory, is that women watching this were becoming powerful in their home lives, believing they could be masters of their destiny, escaping hard marriages by finding inner strength, over coming lack of action in reaching ones career potential, and lastly owning up to their own powers of compassion and empathy.

What it comes down to is poor marketing. If you want an audience, then the summer time slot of SUPERNATURAL would have been great.

So to the producers and writers and powers that be – you cancelled the series because YOU couldn’t find an audience. If the number of fans on Facebook doesn’t tell you anything, I would be surprised – that clearly you were not listening to your audience.

Gutted!! Sky+ this over xmas period and really got into it. Looked it up online to find out when i could expect to see the 2nd series & surprise surprise yet another american show cancelled with crap reasons! Gonna give up with american shows they all end up cancelled with very disappointed viewers. Thanks again for nothing.

I must say I am very disappointed that another great show, being shown in the UK has been cancelled, I don’t think they should air it if they are doing this as it’s unfair that we get into a great show with good actors/actresses to be let down, please make more episodes and series, as the shows in the UK are absolutely rubbish.

I AGREE. I just watched the first season and thought it was awesome and then I googled when the next season was coming out only to be sadly disappointed. This is why I don’t watch shows until they have a season or two out (plus I hate commercials). Whats the point in watching it if its just going to end because of poor publicity. There have been SOo many shows that I really got into only to find out that there canceled …really makes me mad.

I just discovered this show, (in August 2011) I cant believe I never saw it when it was on TV. Never even heard of it before last week. I found it on Torrents and clicked thinking it was a new show.

Maybe the low rating were due to no promotion. I would have watched it if I had known about it!

Well I watched all of them, and I WANT MORE. This show is great, I love it.
Oh I wish they’d hire all these people back and continue the show!!!!!!

Dear Angela: You have no idea – the fans of Eastwick upon learning of its cancellation started a lot of petitions to the network, producers, and even the advertisers. We even sent letters to ABC! To no avail. To add insult to injury they replaced one of the most original shows to hit television with WHAT??? A stupid show called Ugly Betty! The whole episode left me so angry that to this day I still will not watch any shows on ABC!

Do these idiot programmers and executives at ABC listen to their viewers — no they don’t. This show’s creativity, great acting, and really unusual story line was a joy to watch! The only problem is that even if ABC was smart enough to put the show back on – I doubt the actors would give them a second chance. What a shame!

I watched this show whenever it was on tv, and I loved it! I was always curious about when it was coming back, but now I’m sad to hear that it won’t. Kind of ruined my day, actually. I also would like to say I agree with the comment about it being better than Grey’s Anatomy. That show is just way to melodramatic and overdone. I couldn’t sit through five minutes of it. Way too cheesey.

I thought this show was doing really good. I for one watched it every time it came on… I think we should make a petition for ABC to put it back on the air… This is a really great show and I had to make sure I watched it without any interruptions and sat all the way through it. I was so mad when I didn’t see it come on anymore. PUT IT BACK ON PLEASE… I am sure once comes back on you will have a lot more viewers on it.. It does take some time you know I am sure other episodes didn’t get thousands of viewers from the start.

I just saw an episode of Eastwick on TV and I watched it on the internet and started watching at the rest of the episodes. I have only one thing to say, they rule !!!!!! I love Eastwick, the episodes are really, really good and I do not understand how they could cancel the show: S One thing that could be a reason why they did not get so many viewers is becauce there have not been any advertising about that the show existed. If they advertised the show better I think they would gett a lot more views becauce it is a great show!

I really enjoyed this show. I think very poor promotion was the problem. If they let it run long enough for people to catch on and realize how interesting and funny the show reeally was it would have worked.

This is one of MAJOR reason why I don’t watch much of ABC’s shows, even thought I love them… They think its okay to give the viewer something new, something they will love and decided to pull damned good shows out.. The first shows were tighter, well-written, logical within the parameters of the plot.
It appears they changed writers?
The later shows were too filled with silly or illogical, or un-something:
silly: Joanna’s truly inane dialog–which begins to sound like a middle school girl “..and I’m going to …and so there…” stupid…just stupid sounding. Her character weirdness increases with exaggerated dancing at the art soiree, seducing a gay guy, her silly telekenesis attempts, “and her blubbering at the guy who replaced her at the paper …”and…and…
I’m going to have a boyfriend…and my blog is going to be a HUGE success….and…and…”
a trip to a circus out of nowhere to ride the Ferris wheel?
and the character is rendered silly, shallow, annoying.
She CAN act, and there are snippets where she forces her talent through, but it’s not because she’s given much in the way of decent dialog or story line.

And the nurse who refuses to use her powers to HEAL?
Total lack of logic. A medical professional would act first, think later IMHO. If you can save someone from dying no matter the source, you would do it. The other “earth mother” abilities put aside, to deal with later. Just too shallow a reaction there there.
And Roxie seems to recover QUITE nicely from her grief over Chad from one episode to the next, from the touching scene at the end of the previous episode to the art show gala..like snap! she’s schizophrenic or something. The scene packing Chad’s clothes up was effective and believable, excellent acting, the lunge into an art career all of a sudden was just cold.

Roxie hopping into bed with van Horne (Soooo cold! so soon after Chad)
backing out only because she intuits he bought all her paintings? [which is a silly thing for him to do- see Warren Buffet comment below)
Overall, vanHorne character is quite one-dimensional – walking on hot coals…what was that all about?
The character appears singularly lacking in intuitive powers himself, considering he’s the devil or whatever. The actor is almost attractive enough but is NOT a powerful enough personality –like Jack Nicholson was in the original.
I’d rather have seen James Spader.

The ridiculous “teaser” as Roxie is poised over the poisoned pillow, I mean really, how many people physically “suspend” themselves (or are suspended) inches over a pillow after throwing themselves onto a bed ostensibly in anticipation of sex?
It’s like the original writer(s) who developed these characters were fired or suddenly developed Alzheimers and forgot where they were headed with this show.

It might have been as/more successful than “Charmed” if it had stayed on the original course.

And the Johnnie Depp look-alike was a bit much.

It’s an amazing show and I really want it back for a second season, it’s got so many unresovled storylines, and I want to find out what happens with Jamie, and Roxie’s Husband, and I want to find out more about Eleanor Rougemont. I think ABC cancelled Eastwick because someone in the production admin was afraid that a show that has witchy realism would be unpopular and result in economic losses. These type of people believe women should be subjective. ABC tends to have older, male dominated admin making the big decisions. They also rely a lot on support from older-establishment type (conservative) bunch of folks. This same type of support is controlling and driving the public school system, which is why it also is going to the crapper, along with topic/gender censored tv. Let’s face it: TV can feature perverted kinds of sex, murder, and profanity but not benevolent powerful women and not magick as a real thing.

I LOVE EASTWICK, i have just finished watching first season ( and now last) season in New Zealand and im bummed to see they cancelled the 2nd season. The actresses and actors are all amazing. i wanna know what happens with jamie coming back. with the crazy boy thats pocessed by kats new neighbour and roxies husband that came back from the dead. How could they no re-air this show. its awesome. i think the 2nd season will be alot better, will have alot more super natural things, season one, they were figuring out what was happening to them and discovering there powers. what a shame!!

I really liked this show. It just needed more punch. If the network was going to go super natural it should have gone full throttle. It seemed that people were afraid to push because some religious people might have gotten offended. Witch craft and the mystery of it is a part of western culture. I started watching it from the beginning becaue I really liked some of the show’s leads but it became clear early on that the plot lines and characerization just were not cutting it. I started not minding missing an episode then actively looked for something else to watch.

I really enjoyed the show and I will hate to see it end so soon. ABC looses me as a view on a regular basis. The finished off Lost, of course one of the best shows ever. Then they got read of Happy Town before it even got started, and now Eastwick. Once again leaving me no reason to watch their station.

Fun, interesting, different and great characters and story line . Would like the series to continue.

Please air the remaining episodes. Eastwich was one of the best shows on the air…bad choice to cancell it. I looked forward every week for the show to air and it is a great disappointment that it is your choice to remove Eastwick when there are others that truly suck.

They can not just leave it at that ending,
Maybee if the show was on a more popular channel that is advertised more.
I bet if it was on channel four or something, loads of more people would watch it, or have adverts on a channel like that.

I wanna know what happens with wierd kid and Joeannas friend.

EASTWICK must go on..

it was an amazing show and its rate was much cetter than alot of sho which they didnt cancel!!!
i wish that it could continue
