3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 13.41 million total viewers.
Season averages: 3.10 in the demo with 13.41 million.
This was a positive start for the new series, particularly in viewership, but the demo could have been stronger — especially considering the fairly lackluster competition (Scandal on ABC and Rock Center with Brian Williams on NBC).
Compared to the season premiere of The Mentalist a year ago, CBS was up by 10% in the demo (vs a 2.8 rating) and down by 1% in viewers (vs 13.56 million).
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Elementary TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?

The show is even better when watching it a second time.
The plots can be complicated, but that is good.
Holmes is quite different from the books, but very entertaining.
It’s a great show.. definitely a keeper!!
I am really enjoying this show, the only one on my radar to watch every week. Please don’t cancel! It has some real potential. Love Jonny Lee Miller’s subtle British humor, I find myself wanting to catch every word. Lucy Lui brings some interesting chemistry. I am holding faith that this show will be renewed. CBS, please don’t let me down!
As far as I can tell, its the best new show out there. And,
at least you need to think and use a brain cell while you watch it.
meh…. it’s not Sherlock Holmes.. it’s a police procedural jumping on the Sherlock Holmes bandwagon to cash in. The writing is typical, dumbed down CBS fare. Shame really… Miller is a very good actor. He deserves better. Liu.. meh… No thank you.. when I want my Sherlock Holmes fix, I’ll watch reruns of the Granada Jeremy Brett series and wait for the Brilliant BBC Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.
I like Elementary alot. It’s funny at times & intrestingtoo. Don’t Cancel
I haven’t enjoyed a show as much as Elementary since the launch of Castle. Its great fun and always entertaining.
I absolutely agree with you. They’d be foolish to cancel this Series. I love the chemistry between Miller & Liu and agree its like the chemistry between Fillion & Katic.
love the show
jl miller is a great actor – great dynamic with lucy liu also.
episode title : M is intense!
I really like the show. Keeper.
Loooooooooooveeeee the show!!!! JLM is fantastic as Sherlock and I also like new Watson
It is a keeper!!!!!
This is the only show I watch consistantly!Even though there are new episodes each week, there are reacurring themes, this I like. Cancelling this show would be of diservice
because there are so many shows that are a lot worse and should be cancelled. Give it time!!!
LOVE THE SHOW PLEEEEEZE DON”T CANCEL
It’s become my favorite show.Johnny lee miller and lucy Liu are excellent and make the series unique, quirky and extremely interesting.
Cancel it.
It’s one of the best show ever
Both my husband and I love this show because of Johnny Miller and Lucy Lui. It would be heart breaking to see this show cancelled. CBS needs to renew this show!
