I think this channel has lost it’s mind! Canceling the best shows
who everybody seems to love. The money spend on this show is
earned back EASILY with the DVD’s they sell.

They keep canceling shows because they have one or two viewers
too little and it’s starting to be very annoying!
People stay home for these shows and make it their weekly joy!
ABC sucks us in and then spits us out…. seriously, it starts to annoy
me VERY much.

Dear ABC…You have cancelled one of the very best television programs I have seen in years. I found the story line to be exactly what America needs, an inspiring, compassionate, and intellectually savvy family television program. “Shame on you” for not recognizing the incredibly talented actors and writers involved in its cast, writers, and production. I have to agree with all of you. Are there not enough of us with average intelligence who appreciate a beautifully done program? Are we so outvoted by the 50-IQ’s that obsess over the mass of garbage on television?

My wife and I looked forward with great anticipation to catching Eli each week. My applause to the producers, writers, actors and all others who made this show so charming. I’m afraid I’ve become a jinx. If I really like a program…..it’s doomed by the morons and the suits.

I think too many networks and their sponsors forget the “Cheers” and “Seinfeld” lesson. We viewers need a few seasons to develop a relationship with characters and plot lines.

Finally got around to watching the final episode today. I just couldn’t come to grips with seeing the last episode, and that being the end, and so it sat on my dvr for several months. It was such an amazing show that transcended everything else on tv. I am a huge tv fan and watch all the cop shows, etc. but this really felt like it was something different, and actually touched my heart in a way that no show has ever been able to. I will sorely miss it.

On a side note, http://www.cowonthewall.com/projects/elistone/, has all the theme music from the show available for streaming. The closing theme, Everyman’s Talisman, is just beautiful.

“Eli Stone” was such a high quality show on so many levels. Excellently written and with a wonderful cast to boot, the show delivered great courtroom stories with many fun, entertaining moments. I really liked this show as well. It was a really good break from life to watch this show every episode that just seemed to really touch the right nerve in me. It’s too bad that shows like this have to be cancelled, and I dont see why stations like TNT or USA would pick it up. These are the shows that people would love to see and go there to see them. Instead, we have NBC putting “The Tonight Show” on with Jay Leno 5 nights a week starting an hour earlier than it was before. WHO CARES? Put a real show on. If Jay was so great, then why put Conan on there? Geesh. This is just stupid as hell

I personally liked Eli Stone and have enjoyed watching the first season and now I hear it’s cancelled. It is sad that a show that isn’t drenched in violence and sex cannot make it in today’s world. It’s the American people who vote with their TV viewing that makes these shows go away. People are getting synical and predictable and our morals are going down the tubes. We see every aspect of life going down the tubes, so it’s a shame a good show like this has to be cancelled. I cannot believe that they couldn’t have sold the show on to TNT or USA Network. MONK is going away, and this show could definitely fit into that slot. Oh well, it’s a shame. Great show

I think Eli Stone was one of the best shows ever put on TV. I too couldn’t wait until the next episode. I don’t know what happened but I only saw 2 episodes and I thought there were going to be at least 4. How disappointing!

Eli Stone was the only TV show that I watched on a regular basis on prime time TV. ABC, NBC and CBS only put on a bunch of crap in my book and the shows aren’t worth watching.

Eli Stone was one of the only shows on TV that made me eager for the next episode. I had my special Eli Stone time so I can devote to each episode ( sounds crazy, I know). Again I am so disappointed at ABC. Yes it’s all about money, but seriously what other show have such a beautiful message of hope? What other show makes you fall in love with every single character? I just can’t believe they did away with it! My whole family loved this show! I kept waiting to see it return and when I saw the four shows on Saturdays I knew something was up. How dare they. This show had such a great meaning behind it and really inspired me every time I watched it. I am so going to miss it! I don’t know why shows are canceled! I can’t believe this! Out of the 5 shows I watched and LOVED this last year, you know how many are coming back or have come back this year? 1!!!!!!!!!! Eli Stone was the most amazing show I have EVER watched! When I saw it on the first Saturday I was so happy… I told my husband, “See! It came back!” I thought maybe they took a week off or something when it didn’t come on last Saturday….. I am truly heartbroken that this show is not coming back. It was one of the few shows out there that had a good meaning behind it. It didn’t focus on vampires, wars, or other stupid things like that….. I mean they are ok, but you need a different kind of show out there sometimes! To the actors and people who worked on this show, I believe you did an amazing job and will miss watching your work every week! Thank you for producing a wonderful work of art!

Loved this show. Would be thrilled to see it return. I agree that ABC could have made a better decision. But that’s the way it goes. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Some brilliant mind canceled Star Trek after just a few episodes and look what happened. So someday the executives who made the decision here could also come to regret it. I do wish that networks could see their way to supporting gems like this one, really supporting them, and giving audiences a chance to find them. Maybe they’ll put it up on Hulu. It was a wonderful series and deserved a far, far greater audience.

Dumbest idea that ABC could’ve made. There’s so many shows that are moronic on tv and no one cares about them. There’s also so many shows that are the exact same shows with just different people writing them and acting in them. Eli Stone was actually a different and original show. It was a wonderful show. And all they do is take it away? ABC has some of the worst shows on their network and they take away one of their best? It’s illogical. And just so ABC knows… there’s only about 3 other shows that I like on the network which I will continue to watch, although not necessarily on their network. Other networks contain those shows too, and those are the ones I will be watching. Eli Stone I have been watching it religiously since the day it first aired… and now I’m just completely pissed off about it. If I could hit the people who cancelled the show, I would in an instant.

I want to re-watch the Eli Stone.
There are scenes within, where characters don’t say too much. However, what little they do say, speaks volumes. The portrayals do justice to the story, rather than jabber to fill in as much words as possible.
ie . Take the Season 2 Finale’s closing scene with Eli and his father Aaron atop the mountain.
Magic.

I wonder if the show could be bought off ABC.
Is there another network willing to prop up what could be one of the all-time TV greats?

I thought it was going to be repeats when I came across Eli Stone on a Saturday night at 10:00. I had already Netflixed the previous seasons and couldn’t get enough But when I noticed (original air date}… I was thrilled and immediately DVr’d the series. I checked twice this last Saturday to see if it said “Final” anywhere on the screen, then I asked the question…and found this website. I hope it returns and I have enjoyed reading other people comments and feeling there desire for the show to return. Lets keep our fingers crossed

Our family is really sad and shocked that this show has been cancelled. We too DVR the show and just got the news. It’s one of two shows we enjoy and can watch with our 13 year old son who loves it too. Thanks to ABC there’s nothing left on their network that lives on our DVR schedule.
Thank you to all the people who worked so hard on this show and entertained us. Goodbye ABC. You’ll soon be going the way of the American Automakers because you only cater to the mindless public who doesn’t care about quality.

It’s really too bad, but ABC killed this show when they decided not to renew it. The ratings weren’t great, but they weren’t weak, either. Until November 2008, the show was doing okay. The moment the cancellation rumors started, people tuned out, likely not wanting to invest any more time in a show that was just going to end. It’s really a shame when 8 million people, the population of all of New York City, isn’t enough to keep a show alive. That’s to be expected, I suppose, when you move a show around like ABC did this this, Life On Mars, and anything else that doesn’t bring in 20 million viewers.

My heart is broken. I cannot believe a show of such excellence has been cancelled. Each character brought so much to the series; the story lines were so well written; after each show I couldn’t wait until the next one was to air. The last eposide moved me to tears because I knew it was the last. There was so much more for Marc Guggenheim to tell us with all the wonderful story lines left uncomplete because of ABC’s cancellation of one of the greatest series ever produced. What on earth were they thinking . . . shame on them. But thank you Marc for giving all your loyal fans 2 seasons of the best show that ABC or for that matter, any of the networks, have ever broadcast.

It seems few and far between to find shows that have any kind of redemptive quality to them. Eli Stone was a bright spot in the week to look forward to. It has been something different, something worth a tear and a laugh, and of course we fell in love with all the characters. It’s such a travesty to lose such a bright point in the week. I wish there were networks that cared more about the quality of what they were showing than the never ending pursuit of “viewers” or the eternal shuffle of the newest ideas to a voyueristic and fast food society. I couldn’t believe I turned on ABC one Sat nite in June and had now missed 2 of the last 4 epsiodes which I only find out about doing a search on the 3rd show. I keep hoping it will come back for another season. All the crappy shows seem to be aired and the great ones are not due to the “Numbers”.

I am very disappointed that Eli is finished–I was ready to see what would happen with him and Think Brave. I truely enjoyed this series and it shared good things about people which doesn’t happen often–I would even compare it with Highway to Heaven-another of my all-time favorite shows. It is rare opportunity when television actually breaks the mold and doesn’t incorporate all the little things that every show out there MUST add in to make their characters comfortable for all audiences. Eli shone through as a bright spot on ABC–too sad that they chose to end it–but it doesn’t follow “their type” of programing–no compromises. Good job Marc Guggenheim for being true to your audience!! Well what can I say, I’m devastated, it’s a shame, it’s a crime. This show was so full of talent, people that were good and they could even sing! Not just a select few, all of them! They even had Seal on for an episode. When the last episode was over, I cried, and that says something, because I’m not somebody who cries for any show/movie.

There are no words from the greatness that is this show. I’m angry, sad, and frankly confused that this show is now gone, when the airwaves are still filled with garbage like the Bacheloret, big brother, and all the rest of those damn reality shows which is filled with no-talent rubbish!

Guggenheim, in the off chance that you get this message, please try to get another network to pick this show up.

I have been watching a lot of tv for over 40 years & have seen the end to a lot of great series from Mash to Battlestar Gallactica–some had excellent endings & others just left you unsatisfied.

The final episode of Eli Stone was the best of the bunch & should be held as a tribute to everyone involved–it was amazingly well-done as it left nothing unfinished.

Bravo.

It will be missed.

I just watched the final episode as well, and feel a little sadden by the fact that there is no more Eli Stone. I, like many other people that posted here, feel that this was a great show with a very strong moral compas, and in this day and age, we could use a little more of that to show people what the human race is capable of. I am not in favor of any of the reality shows and find it harder and harder to find series on TV that I feel the need to tune in for. Not a very smart move ABC. I am quickly becoming one less viewer. This just shows what a motivator greed is to the networks and what an amoral society we live in now.

I just watched the last episode. I watch very few shows on TV, and in a sense I feel more disconnected than ever from the medium now. A brief glimmer of intellect on ABC, then it winked out to return to the inane monotony of yet another reality show or CSI clone. It makes me sad to think that we as humans are so shallow that we consider these things entertainment, and how dare a show make us think or expand our imaginations. ABC returns to the land of garbage TV, and I return to the Science Channel or History International.

sure, “shows” like that celebrity jungle BS are so much better than a well written, well acted gem as Eli Stone. When will ABC (and the other networks for that matter) realize that “reality” shows have run their course and it is time for GOOD television again?

Eli Stone was my family’s favorite progam! Shame on ABC for taking a good quality show that has morale value off the air! Ditto so many other comments regarding another reality show or police show that highlights violence! I think ES should be brought back for another season and let us, the viewers decide!

I cannot believe such a great show has been canceled. Its hard to find an uplifting show like Eli Stone, me and my family will miss it greatly.

I’m not sure how I missed the news that Eli Stone was cancelled!! But I’m very upset about it! There’s soooo much crap on TV these days, and this show is not crap! With the way the world is now, the last thing we need is more “reality tv” which isn’t as real at most think! A good hearted upl lifting show is hard to find! And now, it’s even harder w/ Eli gone!!
Best of luck to all the actors, hope to see them soon elsewhere!!!

ABC what are you thinking? A good show with excellent content and superior actors will be cancelled so that you can fill your lineup with those mindless reality shows. Good thing after the final episode of Eli Stone, we will turn off the TV. There is NOTHING on ABC anymore. It used to be our favorite channel. I don’t have cable TV so I will be reading more in the future. I am sad for all the people who make these thoughtless decisions. Will miss Eli Stone very much.

It’s a shame that a show with heart and a conscience is being cancelled to make room for more mindless “reality” shows. I’m not sure whose reality they depict; certainly not mine. I hope some network has enough character to bring Eli Stone back to the air waves.

My family and I are VERY disappointed with the cancellation of Eli Stone. It is a bright light in the maze of gory hospital and poliice shows. Or worse yet, the “Reality
competions which are glutting the air waves.
