Emily Owens, MD: Not Cancelled (Yet)

Rumors have been circulating that The CW’s Emily Owens, MD has been cancelled. It appears that they stem from a Vancouver set photographer, Susan Gittins, who tweeted, “Sad news today. Vancouver-shot #EmilyOwensMD cancelled. A charming show that got lost in Fall launch.”

The CW PR folks quickly disputed the rumor and Gittens later recanted, writing “Apology for false report. Was told today by reliable source that #EmilyOwensMD cancelled. The CW says show still in production.”

Unfortunately, Emily Owens, MD still looks destined to be cancelled. The new show has been getting terrible ratings and currently averages a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.27 million total viewers. Aside from Friday’s Nikita, it’s the network’s lowest-rated show in the demo.

What do you think? Do you like Emily Owens on The CW? Do you think that they’ll keep making and airing new episodes?

my mother and i both love this show. anytime something good is on tv it gets cancelled and replaced with some dumb reality tv show that just shows how stupid and ridiculous people in this world are. Emily Owens MD. is a show that seems to be good for almost all ages..compared to all the other junk on tv. i’ve seen every episode and am left wanting to see more every week. there’s not only the lives of the main characters but other individuals stories thrown is there of loss, overcoming obstacles..seriously stupid choice to cancel a show like this. Bring it Back!!!

One of the few creative series on commercial cable today so naturally they cancel in favor of junk!

I LOVE this show! I hate the thought of it being canceled. People love stories of tragedy and reality shows and stories like this with positive values fall by the wayside. We should all want our children to be able to see shows like this one. It shows the aspect of being able to rise past our difficulties and still be who we are destined to be. I say give it another season and a CHANCE!

I think that the CW should give it another chance not everyone has found it yet. I think the show is great and that the CW better stop cancelling their great shows. It hurts so much… :)

It’s a great show that never had a chance. The CW put it in one of the *most* competitive time slots in prime time against NCIS, Dancing with the Stars, and the Voice, among other shows. It’s a well-written, refreshing (not trashy) show that has a loyal following. It deserves another chance either in a better time slot or on a network that truly values its potential.

This is the most refreshing show…love the casting and the muiltiple sidelines.
