ER: Win the Complete 13th Season on DVD!

ERCreated by Michael Crichton, ER began on NBC in September 1994 and continued until April 2009. The show’s 15 season run places ER as the longest running primetime medical drama. It was recognized with 124 Emmy nominations and won 23 Emmy Awards.

County General Hospital in Chicago is the background for the series’ stories that combine personal drama and social issues. In season 13, Dr. Weaver leaves in an unexpected career move and intern/bad-boy Dr. Tony Gates joins the team. Despite many personnel changes over the years, the dramas of the outside world continue to challenge the hospital’s dedicated staff.

Cast members during this season include Goran Visnjic, Maura Tierney, Laura Innes, Mekhi Phifer, Parminder Nagra, John Stamos, Linda Cardellini, Shane West, and Scott Grimes.

Season 13 of ER has recently been released on a six-disc DVD set that includes all 23 episodes as well as outtakes and unaired scenes. You can purchase ER: The Complete Thirteenth Season for $41.49 from Amazon. You can also try to win a copy here.

I think this season is one of the best with the ‘new’ cast. By new I mean that none, or almost, none of the old characters were in this season.
I think it has great performances by most of the actors. Perfect season, very exciting and lots of funny and angsty stuff.

ER is definitley one of those shows that didn’t run out of steam, it always seemed fresh. It was very different after the original members started disappearing and the death of Dr. Greene was shocking and sad, but with the later seasons and new interns they picked back up. I enjoyed the seasons with Shane West he gave a hip and edgy performance. I only have 2 seasons on dvd seasons 6 and 11 so this would be fun to get! It will be one of those landmark shows.

I love ER…it’s a shame they lost so many good cast members in season 13. They really put the weight of the entire show on Maura Tierney after that, and left the rest of the character arcs undeveloped. Not that Maura wasn’t amazing, but it was hard to care very much about Neela and Gates.
