I realize my comment is a day late and a dollar short, but my husband and I recently finished watched all four seasons (having just purchased them from Amazon) and was stunned, surprised and a bit confused by the ending. I understand the cliffhanger, as I’m a writer myself, but not to come back with another season leaves me sighing as I did when Roseanne ended her show killing “Dan” in the process. “Everybody Hates Chris” was one of the more refreshing, delightful and honest shows to come along and I’m sorry it ended so abruptly.

wow THIS WAS A GOOD SHOW i loved this show i watch it all the time it seems the drama ends in the last episode But Unfourtanly they can’t continue i think they should of filled the career by forgeting the farther death and showing his comedian job and how he got his life and should of shown at least some thing and what the HE** they didnt say any thing i think they should go on with the life although the farthers death would be tragic i dont want too acutally see julius die i would like too se what happened next but now in the future we got rochelle in pair of kings and all that so apprently i guess it was ment too be although i enjoy that show but i am PISSED!

his GED score was 735 out of 800, 735 was the number painted on the fathers truck. The man doesn’t matter, he is to add a dramatized atmosphere to the final scene, nothing more.

…that said, having passed the GED myself, you guys suck at spelling so I wouldn’t knock it as it may be in your foreseeable future.

He means that Chris’ dad in the tv series (Terry Crews) did not die. Chris Rock’s real dad did (Julius Rock). Terry Crews is happily alive. Julius Rock, not too alive right now. He died from ulcer surgery in 1988, like HC said.

I think the man in the sunglasses should go outside and highjack Chris’s dad truck then as the father goes to try and stop the crook but the crook shoots the father and the father says in his last words he says “Chris I saw on his wallet it said G.E.D. graduate,this cu,cu is why you should always get a good educ.(He closes his eyes and dies.)Then Chris takes the grade from his mom and rips it up and tosses it on the ground. Then his mom says “I know it doesn’t matter but he did get an A+ and with that I feel that in life he’s gonna make the right choices in life.The screen goes blank.

Well I think it should end with the father’s death. The whole time I saw the shady guy I thought something bad was gonna happen. Then I saw Julius show up and I felt he would get shot saving Chris from the robber when Chris tried to stop him. It may sound cold but that’s what I think.

I think I have it figured out: when there is the death of something it ends abruptly for that person or character. Well we know Chris isn’t dead because he is still around. We do know that he really took the GED as well that he became a comedian around the age 17. Back to the part of death… I think the abrupt ending is the death of their living conditions. They were “coming up.” The song Living.g on a prayer represented that their prayers were about to be answered. The mysterious guy was probably the person to discover Chris Rock.

I would love to see this show continue… I almost feel apart of their family and I really loved mom and dad… I didn’t like this ending, but I agree the guy staring at Chris in the Cafe and the “Living on a Prayer” playing kinda told the story or at least gave an impression of where his life was headed.

Rather the networks calling it the “season” finale in their promos, they should’ve called it the “series” finale. It was a great show and I’m really gonna miss it. When the final episode faded to black before hearing the results of Chris’ GED exam, it was obvious that he passed because #1, the show was based on Chris Rock’s life as a kid and #2, in real life Chris Rock dropped out of school and got a GED in real life.

chris did in fact pass his GED exam. If u look closely in the final scene, u c his dad pull up to park outside the diner. And on his dads truck, u will c the numbers 735. that was his score on his GED. they probably put that there in the scene so they wouldnt leave the audience hanging. and the dude with the glasses in the diner is chris’s agent when he is a comedian.

who the heck ends a series like that a season fine but a series come on these producers have got stop ending these kind of shows on cliff hangers i persinaly dont care if the show kicks the bucket ya its a good sow to watch its entetaining but beyond that i really wouldent care if was cancelled but all i ask you one finale episode doesnt even have to be 30 minets long just 5 minets showing the test results thats it once i know the test results you can do what ever with it

Since the show is featured prominently on the BET Channel, I see no reason why they couldn’t squeeze out 1 more season.. You have to have 5 seasons of a show to be syndicated and they had 4.. It’d a been nice to see a young Chris attempting standup and seeing how proud his parents ended up being..

Maaaaan this show can’t b canceled. I started watching it when it premiered on nick at nite and have been a faithful viewer ever since. I dnt agree with the network or chris’s decision as this being a good way to end the series. If so, they’ve lost a fan. Please please bring Chris back. All i have to say is YOUR CRAZY to think that should be the end of the show. it was GREAT! The last episode was such a tease. Nobody should be left hanging. Thats like the rabbit and the Trix. Chris needs a good day in the finale episode. it’s cliche’ but people love it.I’m sure the day chris started comedy was the good day! let the Damn bunny have his cereal!

Well I saw the episode today before work and was thinking it may follow up with some sort of “2nd part” but since the show is now in sindication….that channel just started from the very beginning with the next episode. The show ends in a cliff hanger much like REAL LIFE (if you where looking at it from sitting there watch as maybe a classmate) Much like real life many peoples life hangs on ONE test score or something else much like it. You are left hanging on whether Chris passed the test or not and what was next in his life. I hate in some ways that it ended the way it did but of every show on television, in that instants it was the most realistic ending of the all.

Everybody hates Chris was a great show and I loved every minute of it. Tyler James Williams is a wonderful actor and though I am pissed with the way the show ended, I think it had to be done that way. I mean what were they gonna show if he passed the G.E.D and plus it’s better than what I expected. I thought that man they kept showing was gonna kill him (Chris) or his father. This is the best sitcom I ever saw, maybe its because I am a skinny black guy like the Chris character and if there’s one thing that stands out, it is a black nerd lol. I could really relate to the show except to the instance of been beating up by white kids lol and my mama ain’t at all like Roshelle. That woman is crazy lol. It was a great four years and I hope to see Tyler in more good shows.
