Please put Flashforward back on. You all allow some of the bad shows to stay on and cancel the good ones. I was starting to understand it, also my husband loves mysteries and that show was definitly a mystery. We never found out what the Kangaroo meant, what did that have to do with the shows plots. Please put it back on

Why didn’t the author, producers and the powers that are “ABC” leave the original idea of the book alone. They doomed the show by not giving the series a power send off. All they needed to do was to go back to the old formula of creating a MTW and they could have wrote their own ticket. Instead, they allowed the author to create different characters from the book and also alter all that was written. This book still has ‘movie’ all over it! Read the book and see what I am talking about please. If the producers just took the entire contents of the book and brought it to life in a full length movie, the viewing audiences would pay to see the final product. The way the television series presented the author’s words (partly the fault of the author), shot the series in the foot. The concept was fresh and one that would spark the imagination of any audience. Unfortunately, ABC was looking for a cash cow and they soured something that could have been pure cream!

I think fast forward is an amazing show! Or at least I did when it first came out, but after the first several episodes they had just been dragging out the suspense to the point where it just got irritating to watch, answers every once in a while instead of waiting to tell them all at the end would have been great.

I was gutted when this show finished

From the first episode, I was hooked

This does seem to happen to a lot of decent series in the US, they never get to finish the whole story, but you continually get reruns of Star Trek, and I saw that when I was a kid, my kids saw it, no the grand kids can watch it, but they dont, they say thats silly and boring (I think my kids only tolerated ANY star trek just to humour me)

There are just so many old boring reruns, but you get a great new fresh series and it gets cancelled, I just dont understand it

I really liked Happy Town, I can’t believe you canceled it before revealing the Magic Man or what the hammer was about. It’s typical ABC. There is so much more that was supose to happen, why don’t ABC put a website up to explain how it was supose to end and expose the Magic Man.

OK anything that requires the use of thought is being canceled, leaving us with all shows that are about doctors having sex in supply closets, CSI working in dark rooms using flashlights, stupid people in reality shows (thses shows are scripted & staged) eating bugs & playing Jungle Jim & Tarzen like pre-schoolers are left to be shown forever is the only choice I have then TV has expired for me. Let’s see. Not having to buy a new TV, gitting cable installed it will save me how much money not to even count in my time spent trying to search for a half way funny program that requires some brain activity. Not even thinking about the Network Ex’s & stars of the stupid shows in interview that say when they are ask what programs they watch, Oh I don’t WATCH TV–I DON’T EVEN OWN ONE!!!! If they don’t support there own show or network THEN WHY SHOULD I??

Gutted. I love this show. I can’t believe that they are cancelling it without concluding the story line. The massive gap meant the show lost momentum but there is plenty more fun to be had. ABC aren’t interested in our opinion though because we watch in the UK .

I can’t believe it. I’m dumbfounded. I don’t watch much TV drama but this is really good writing. Every single episode is unpredictable and has its intrigue. I don’t know how they measure the viewership. I know every Thursday I don’t watch it because I take the kids swimming. Then I’ll watch it on hulu.com. I probably killed it by not watching it at the live time slots.

My husband and I are SO SAD to find out that this show is not returning! We happened to catch a re-cap episode prior to the the season re-starting in March. We were able to DVR the new episodes & ordered the fall episodes on Blockbuster. We FINALLY caught up to ‘real life’ just a couple of weeks ago and were really excited about this show. I agree with others that if the show was in another time spot it would likely be doing much better. It really is a shame. My husband and I rarely agree on a show and this is one that we both liked (we are 29 and 33). Boo to ABC!

ABC is quite mistaken 2 pull out that show its not fair no body knows about i heard about it on twitter from an indian actor and now now and my brother have started watchin it but we’re from kuwait and unfortunatly we don’t control the ratings in the US and we got excited about the show it wud b a great replacement 2 lost and now with its cancellation there wud b a huge void 2 fill i have nothing else 2 watch what am i 2 do !! abc should consider thieir decision again and figure out what they did wrong

I also think that the writers can make it more interesting other than the “Heroes”-like threads of characters and making it too boring. We need to move forward a little faster than repeating the same events over and over. Well, it might be too late! Too Bad!

I really, really liked FlashForward. What a ridiculous thing to stop airing it after 10 episodes. Even I, who am a big fan, nearly forgot about it, & when I saw it was back on the air, I forgot to watch it for several weeks… which is ABC’s fault. My husband and I love this show (we’re in the good demographic, too!) and it’s just so sad that the networks are canceling all the good shows: ABC is cancelling FlashForward and keeping V? That doesn’t make any sense to me. And NBC just canceled Mercy. At least Fox renewed Fringe — otherwise, after LOST stops airing, I’d having nothing to watch

I agree with all those on the Mark/Olivia. Honestly it’s like in the end she wanted it. Or let’s say this she put up very little fight. If she was going to split from him for awhile let that be.

I feel the writers suck. They have a great concept but lack serious imagination. Now they are trying to make it like Final Destination. OOh fate catches up with you. Come on it’s been done already. Leave it alone.

The split up between Olivia and Mark was very confusing – one minute she is super devoted wife, the next she is kissing the guy she vowed would never come between them. I also could have done without the whole lesbian throw in. Other than that, I really liked this show. I didn’t think I would at first, but it really grew on me. Really sorry to see it go!

Well, I’d like to see Flash Forward having the same development as Lost did, crossing my fingers for things getting some change to better, the plot is awesome! Would need a lot of more episodes to unfold.

When I compare the show with other ones, it seems to have a lot of things missing and then it comes with a boom our of nowhere with too many answers that doesn’t seem to fit in the plot. Like the resident? What the hell about him? And the japanese girl? They seem out of world in the whole plot, too much characters maybe… I’m missing the X-Files age…

About the couple, Mark and Olivia aren’t the main plot for God sake! Wake up Mr. swramsay! If you are looking towards relantionship shows, you are looking at the wrong place! or better, the wrong show! People change idea through the course of life, people have doubts about the choices sometimes, which may lead to the end or a restart! Go meet real people, ok?

This was a GREAT show for the first few episodes, but like most of the rest of the country I deleted my season pass after the lesbian scene. Without that I’d have kept watching, but since I’m not a 15 yr old boy that kind of thing is just tired and somewhat disgusting.

The show is too ambitious. The premise is an awesome idea, but the goal of the TV show is to have it drag on and on. They writers are lazy and if you take out the repeating filler in each episode, you’re left with 5 minutes of new information. Too bad; they wasted a good thing.

I agree about the Olivia/Mark split, very unbelievable for a couple who seemed to be solidly in love and committed to each other. I do want the show to continue however, very intriguing if the writers can maintain a believable and twisty-y plot.

The Mark and Olivia thing is a big mistake. C’mon. We need to see husbands and wives fight for each other. They didn’t even give an ounce of effort after making vows to each other that normal people don’t. Ugh. That sort of soured the entire show for me. Marriage is important to most – sacred to many. The disrespect and disregard this show has for this powerful institution is troubling. Fix that and you will have a winner.

Solid Sci fi nevers seems to last on the fickle prime time networks. Unlike cable which shows multiple airings, its a one shot deal per week and many people DVR the shows..like me. Its a shame that Fast Forward will end before the “answers” are found for the followers. I understand the new series V is in the same boat. I quess they replace these shows with something like “Sex Cams of the Network Stars” or “Snoop Dogs City to City Party Tour”. Oh well more time to watch sports and stop being a couch potato.

Agree with the comment on the writing. The show just has moments that the writers may see how it all blends together, but I don’t believe the viewer really understands. People who are completely aware of their future behave like they have no recourse, spiraling toward their inevitable death. The FBI agent who killed himself makes sense, that is how a normal person may react to knowing they “will” kill someone. However knowing you are going to die by your friends gun, why not just go on vacation out of the country with your fiance for a few weeks?

The characters are a huge flaw, you just watch a show that is suppose to be semi believable and wonder why everyone is so foolish.

OK – I’ve watched all the episodes. It seems like they just decided to have Mark & olivia split. There was no real reason, except he didn’t want to move, then suddenly she’s kissing Lloyd. Horrible writing on that. Seems like most of the writing has gone down since the show came back.

The problem with this show is that the plot got way too convuluted, and there were way too many characters. What ever even happened to the Asian girl who was supposed to change Bryce’s life? How could Olivia go from a happily married women to falling for a man she was determined to avoid completely within a few months, especially when she has a traumatized daughter? The whole Janis-is-a-mole plot was just one more unnecessary plot device. It started off with a lot of promise, but got bogged down in its own weight.

Fundamentally I love the show. My problem is they keep jumping all over teh place making it hard to follow. I can hang on but many viewers won’t and that is what has lead to teh fall off of teh viewers. They spend too much time tracing the people on teh edge lives and not focussing on the main group.

The next thing is they may need to not always complicate the hell out of things. Some things yes but they may need to interject something like what the math kid from Numb3rs does where he brings stuff to laymans terms. This is another way of allowing some of the audience to follow along.

The problem with thought provoking shows is that many audiences don’t like to think and many simply can’t. YOu have to ask yourself if there are enough “thinkers” to keep the show going in teh way you are leading it. My best guess is there is not. But to change this you have to do it gently because you also want to keep some of the thought process in it also. It’s kind of a slippery slope to be on.

Thsi is probably all a waste of time anyhow because it’s on life support and I think it’s a vegetable now.

I really hope FlashForward stays on. As a young teenager with my mom, I need a show to watch with her and we like these kind of weird, thought-bringing shows are good. I can see how the plot line is fading and getting choppy and such, and the fact that I had started watching the show after the hiatus really just shows how much I’m bad at watching television. This is the main reason I don’t watch television much (other than the fact I go to school and other stuff), because all the shows I watch are cancelled.

At first I loved the show, but, my spouse hated it. I started watching it on Hulu, still enjoying it. But the story got to be like the one with Fringe – just too much to watch and actually enjoy it. Plot lines that seemed tossed in “just because” not “to make it better”. The big break did NOT help, I lost interest, and now simply look forward to Sons of Anarchy to start back up!!!

I think FlashForward is a perfect example of a series which should have been planned at the beginning to be one season long. If the viewer knows from the beginning that there will be a resolution at a specified end date, the way he perceives the plot and character development is very different than if he think it’s going to meander into some indefinite future.

There are plenty of unanswered questions left to this story. Knowing that they WILL be answered by May xx, 2010 keeps me watching. I’ll only be disappointed if the show is canceled without resolution OR is renewed.

There is nothing wrong with adding a guy or lesbian couple. Although I am part of a traiditional marriage, and have 4 children, I know not everybody has the same type of relationship or marriage. Having a lesbian couple in a Prime Time show is a good thing. It shows and creates tolerance.

Flashforward, and the Fringe are both broadcasted during Thursdays. If someone wants to choose one between those, Fringe is obviously a better option. Besides, when u compare the story being told in FF with that in Lost, it just makes u disappointed on everything about this series. Maybe it would become better if ABC didn’t show both in the same period of time.

I’d like to think the show can be salvaged because of the good things you mentioned about the show…if it were to be, for instance, taken over by the same quality of writers that provided the story lines that kept LOST so intriguing for its entire life span, it could still indeed become the next LOST. But as you so eloquently pointed out, it looks as if the death blow has already been dealt. I’m holding out hope, but not holding my breath. So many potentially great television shows suffer this same fate, it seems….IMHO, some of them included JOHN FROM CINCINNATI (on HBO), JOURNEYMAN, JERICHO and SWINGTOWN, to name a few. And on the other side of the same coin, reality shows continue to survive and spawn like cockroaches. Go figure.

Flash forward is a great show. Good acting, intelligent plot to those who can actually follow it, deep character development,quasi realism, twists. Idiots who think just because there is a lesbian couplein it that it’s a turn off need to go outside and keep burning witches and planting crosses in yards. Sad people are looking for cheap no plot crap instead of challenging their mind. Its a great show, ahead of its time (im sure many wont even get that tie in either)

I love Flash Forward and definitely think it deserves a second season. This year was hard because of the Olympics, but if they run straight through next year, ABC would probably pick up more viewers. It’s a great show, very intriguing, and a favorite of mine and my family’s. It would be a real loss if it was canceled.

Even though I was really hopeful about this show at the beginning, I was disappointed quickly enough. Of course the long hiatus was a negative, and the “brains” in ABC should stop doing that to their shows, but that was not the only thing that killed “FlashForward”. Its major problem is that it has nothing more to offer… there was a worldwide blackout, the entire world flashforwarded to the future, there is a conspiracy hidden behind it… that’s all!

The conspiracy and the science should have been the aspects of the show the writers should have focused on. They should have made the viewers constantly wonder whether the FlashForwards were natural or man-caused, if the future can be changed or not, if it will happen again or not. But all these important questions were quickly answered in the first few episodes, and the brilliant idea behind this show, the FlashForwards themselves, were hastily dismissed as trivial, even though the entire series could be built around them containing all the answers. Instead, the writers chose to focus on the personal FlashForwards of random individuals, the love stories, the break-ups, all this crap that they could have dealt with in following seasons (that is why “fillers” are for!). They failed to establish a basic story, and keep jumping from one topic to the other without connecting any dots, since all the individual stories seem to be distinct from one another.

In shows like “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Law & Order”, “V”, “CSI”, etc., each episode is a unique story, separated from the others, and there are only a few elements that survive throughout the entire series. In shows like “Lost” and “FlashForward” the progression of the story itself is the most important thing. “Lost” managed to retain most of its audience simply by NOT providing answers, and always creating more questions that keep the viewers interested. Unfortunately “FlashForward” has failed in this matter.

I use to like FF not so much anymore. Losing interest fast. It will not be back. Like it says above when you come in fifth in the demo behind the (horrible) CW you have a disaster on your hands….that is just terrible…ABC won’t think twice after that disgrace.
