TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Who is the yahoo canceling Forever!! Good grief its the only show ABC has going for them that is worth watching. Well Jimmy K is good too. But seriously Extreme Weight Loss, The Bachelorette, Dancing With the Stars is almost over. Our daughter is a TV producer. Quality shows do cost more, reality shows are cheap, cheap, cheap. So ABC is a cheap network not wanting to give quality programing. Since Forever and Jimmy K were the only shows I watched I guess I’ll be looking for another network to enjoy. Shame on ABC for being so thoughtless to the… Read more »
ABC Bring this show back!!! It is a great show, full of intrigue, mystery, romance and charm! So many shows today are lacking these things!! 🙁
I agree with everyone, Forever is an awesome, the whole family is very disappointed that it’s cancelled. They storyline kept us wanting more. We couldn’t wait to watch the next episode. Just when the Henry was about to tell her, we will never see that relationship grow into a romance…very very disappointed!
Yes, this show should be renewed. This is a very entertaining show.
Forever is/was 🙁 an exciting and interesting murder mystery show, one of my favorites! Who ever the people are who decide whether to keep a show or not most be morons. The characters are awesome, and the stories are very interesting. I’m sure they could have had many more great seasons.
As so many have said here already: Forever is one of the best TV series to come out in years, and they *cancel* it? There are so many other shows out there that are a waste of resources and one or perhaps a few of those should have been canceled.
BRING THIS SHOW BACK! PLEASE!
Maybe we should all start a write-in campaign to have it renewed, like they did with the original Star Trek way back when.
Anyone know how to organize this?
Why not renew this terrific show!?! The characters, the story line, all so good, so entertaining! We don’t need all the gore & violence on so many other supposedly popular shows! Give us an evening’s entertainment that’s wholesome in its storyline, please! & “Forever” is just that. Please give us more seasons of such writing & acting. Thank you!
Forever absolutely should have been renewed for another season! It was one of the best shows on tv! Excellent cast, fantastic storyline and great historical aspects. Was so looking forward to the next season!
Should have been renewed. Jo never finds out, Henry and her never fall in love, Adam goes free… They never answered half the questions or finished half the scenarios they presented. I’m quite upset that it was cancelled.
I really enjoyed the show. It was very well written, character well developed so of course, they cancelled it. Wrong decision ABC. You keep junk on to enterain the mindless, and cancel well thought out shows. if it weren’t for agents of S.H.I.E.L.D I would boycott ýour network
Why do they bother to have a great show, get us hooked, and then CANCEL on us?! There’s so much more that could have been done with the stories and characters. Sigh….I’ll never know what got into their teeny little brains over at ABC. The good actors and great acting! It’s such a shame to see a good show go off the air, and so hard to find any other worthy shows to watch. Sometimes, I go through the whole 200 channels and can’t find a thing! From now on, I watch crummy shows, because I know they’ll never be… Read more »
It should have been renewed for at least one more season if not more.
Loved the show. Hope some other network pic this up. Fans was right never gave this show a chance
Tv series Forever was a great show. Terribly sad that it appears nothing is given a chance.
Why bother to produce good shows with great casting, entice the viewer to become involved and then snap. Gone. The viewers must be becoming cynical when a new show is introduced in case they enjoy it too much as chances are it’ll disappear..so sad. I hope we see all these actors in something else
Ironic , the last line of the show’s final was : it’s a long story…..loved the program
